The 15mm rod clamps at the front and rear of the baseplate allow you to secure 15mm accessories such as a matte box, follow focus, lens motors, lens supports, battery plates, or external recorders. Since the front rod clamp is attached to the top plate, the rod-mounted accessories don't need to be repositioned as the rig is adjusted. Additionally, handles can be mounted to the ARRI standard rosettes on either side of the plate. When not shoulder-mounted, the baseplate can be secured to a standard VCT-14 ENG quick release in a matter of seconds, saving time on set.

A: Hello Lucas. Yes this mount is fully compatible with both DSMC1 and DSMC2 cameras from RED. However, please note that this is a Simple mount with no power or data pins. Therefore you will require a cinevised lens with an iris ring such as a Rokinon or modified Tokina from Duclos Lenses. L-series and other EF lenses that control iris electronically can still be mounted to this product, but all aperture changes would need to be made on a DSLR body, then the lens would be transferred to the mount retaining that aperture.

Q: 2. Will this power the Sennheiser MKH-416?

A: It will not, this does not supply phantom power to a microphone.

Q: 3. Will this work with a mic that needs power from the camera like the Sennheiser 416?

A: This will not provide phantom power to your mic, so unless the mic has its own power source (or integrated battery) then it will not work.

A: No, the RED V-Raptor does not have a 3.5mm audio input. The Wooden Camera A-Box for RED KOMODO, WEAPON, EPIC-W, SCARLET-W, RAVEN, and DSMC2 will not work on that camera.

A: We see no reason it would not work on any version of the RED Scarlet.

A: This product is not compatible with the C300 Mark II.

A: It is our understanding that all RED cameras that have an interchangeable lens mount (which includes the RED One) can use this adapter.

A: This is a very solid PL mount, it will support heavier lenses. However it is never a bad idea to add a lens support unit to your rig, these will give you even great stability and assist you if you are using very large, heavy lenses.
