Styled in red, the HT830R 1st Chair Round Rider XL from TAMA is designed to promote a sense of balance while playing the drums by giving you a sturdy, big, and stable throne, allowing you to relax your core, hips, and lower back whilst playing. The seat is slightly larger than its Rough Rider counterpart, with a thickness of 5.0” and a diameter of 15.0”.

The throne is height-adjustable from 21.3 to 26.4", providing a T-bolt system to complement its threaded rod construction, thus allowing for quick changes in height. To achieve more stability than previous thrones, the chair secures a lower center of gravity with a throne-pipe set closer to the floor.

Additional measures help in this regard, such as the implementation of double-braced tripod legs, the inclusion of rubber feet 1.5x larger than previous models, a Glide-Tite, metal-to-metal grip joint, and a patented seat lock which uses a two-piece locking hinge collar system to prevent wobble. Also patented is plastic leg-attachment system called Foot Life, which protects against wear and tear, prolonging the life of the feet.

  • A Glide-Tite grip joint facilitates a secure attachment by using a metal-to-metal contact point.
  • A patented seat lock provides a two-piece, locking-hinge collar system for to connect the throne base to the seat, utilizing an oversized wing-nut for easy, secure tightening. This design mitigates wobbling.
  • A specific Super Stabilizer Design lowers the distance of the center throne-pipe to the floor, thereby achieving a lower center of gravity was achieved. Additional stability has been accomplished by lengthening the tripod leg stabilizer bar, as well designing double-braced tripod legs that do not taper at the point they insert into the rubber feet.
  • The throne’s height-adjustment system blends a threaded rod throne with the T-bolt system to offer quick height adjustments.
  • The extra-large rubber feet are 1.5 times larger than previous TAMA rubber feet to improve stability.
  • A "Rocklok" feature provides Nylon Bushing at the bottom of the throne's threaded rod to prevent side-to-side motion within the base, providing durability and stability.
  • A patented plastic leg-attachment system called Foot Life mitigates the wear and tear of metal to metal contact, thus ensuring you won’t have to replace the feet nearly as often as you might have with similar Drum Thrones without Foot Life.

[16.77 lb] From buying High and low end-priced DW and PDP hardware for my drum kit, I've learned what many have said about DW: you get what you pay for. This 5100 throne is very comfortable, adjustable and fatigue resistant. The swivel & lock features are worth the extra$$. I tend to sit on the edge and there is no wobble. I can also sit farther back and not get my circulation in my legs cut off. For people w/ back issues I would add on a backrest. Short folks should pay attention to the measurements as it won't go lower than stated.

The stool is well padded and very comfortable for extended sitting times. Quality product and would recommend.

[16.77 lb] PDP's PDDT700 is a BASIC drum throne. Still, the throne offers high quality parts throughout. The method of height adjustment is simple and will NEVER fail. It can't, as there is a bolt/wingnut assembly straight thru the vertical pipe. Multiple holes for height to choose from. Often over time and use, many throne weight- bearing tube clamps can Slip in seat height. This one simply cannot....a big advantage. Ideally, seat could be an inch wider and offer a bit more comfort. However for the money, this throne will last a long time ! A great value in a lower priced yet, quality throne. I am pleased with this purchase.

[16.77 lb] I jumped to get this when it went on sale. I use it every day now in my studio office and it's very adaptable for the variety of positions that can be used with it. The week I received it I took it with me on a hunch for photographing a number of people at a client's location. Everyone enjoyed it, although I was careful to caution that it required them to maintain their own balance with two feet on the floor. It actually forced them to show better back posture for the headshots, which always helps people to look better. Good product!

[PVC] I’m relatively new to drumming. I play an Alesis Forge kit and have been using a piano bench so far. I’ve managed a couple of music store a couple of decades ago and have sat on plenty of drum thrones. I knew I needed something solid, yet comfortable. As a classical guitarist, I know the necessity for a chair that facilitates my playing and keeps me comfortable enough to play long performances and to be able to sit through hours of practice. I am a very disciplined musician so I know right out of the gates that I will be playing the drums a lot. I want to be very good at it. When purchasing this throne, I knew I needed something to serve the aforementioned. I also didn’t want to invest more money than necessary. This throne has proven to serve my needs well without compromising my bank account. I definitely recommend this throne to anyone who understands where I’m coming from, beginner or seasoned. it feels very sturdy and cushions my rear quite well.

[PVC] Very light and easy to move which is nice but it doesn't fold or anything. Pretty straight forward to put together, only thing that was a brain scratcher was the seat at first but, I just had to push it down - you will see. Wish the shifter bracket came with because they are hard to find and a pretty expensive addition. It looks good and holds my wheel and pedals pretty sturdy, just tighten everything real good. On the more expensive side but I do like it and don't regret buying it.

[16.77 lb] I bought the TAMA Tour Mic Stand to take on location audio situations that require a voice over along with specific voice over style microphones.  This is primarily for clients that prefer or feel more comfortable having a mic stand.  The TAMA Tour Series stand gets a 5 Star rating primarily for its solid build quality with a reasonable weight to keep it portable and easy to transport.  I prefer the TAMA Tour round base because the stand does not thread directly into the base ( a weakness of other brand round base stands) and is not subject to cross threading or breakage at the base.  The center shaft of the TAMA stand actually  slides into the base and is secured by a T-bolt from the bottom side of the round base.  Genius!  I prefer the TAMA Tour Series to other non-TAMA brands for solid performance, portability and durability.  I would not consider adding a boom arm to this particular stand and suspend any of my microphones at any distance away from the main shaft.  If you need a boom arm stand get one with a tripod base for stability.  For vocalists, public address or voice over this stand will serve you well.  Disclaimer:  the only stands I like better than the TAMA Tour Series stands are the TAMA Studio Series stands which are the finest mic stands out there.  They are extremely stable, built like a tank, and heavy!  The Studio Series is hands down the best mic stands you can buy in my book.  If you dont move your mic stands around much for location work, get the Studio Series.  If you move your mic stands around frequently and portability is at the top of your list, then the Tama Tour Series deserves your serious consideration.
