[Ear type 2] I couldn't live without this for in studio table-top photography with artificial or natural light. Much easier than a softbox. I've also used it on location but it was windy and my assistant had a difficult time keeping it straight. On a calmer day it would have been perfect.

[Hinged] At some point when working on set you realize it's the little things that make everything better. Westcott's range of gear rarely ever disappoints and the scrim Jim kit adds to their stable of simple yet fabulously useful gear. Super light and this easy to transport. Makes for a great diffuser or bounce, or flag even! Highly recommend.

[28 lb] The Black cloth is extremely soft and thick. It gets the job done.

[1] My grips tell me they love it! Unfortunately Avenger no longer seems to sell 2' sections to adapt size to a 6x6...

[Aluminum alloy] This huge frame fits nicely into my compact car for all sorts of shoots. The lack of nobs and the easy folding was the selling point for me. It makes it much easier to keep track of everything and to have it neatly stored away. I've used this on several outdoor shoots and it is very steady in the wind. I recommend a third attachment point to the ground if its really blowing, but I'd say that with any 8by frame.

[Hinged] Finally, the answer to bringing big diffusion to set in a small car. If you don't have the luxury of a sprinter van, box truck, or utility trailer, this is a great kit that will fit inside a mid-size SUV or some large sedans.


You would think with it being a snap-a-part that it wouldn't be sturdy, but it is SUPER sturdy. It feels like a solid frame.



Also, the quick-release ear is great for flipping the frame without having to have it underslung.

[Hinged] I have been contemplating buying this for quite sometime! Wow, where have you been! This kit is light weight, easy to assemble and an essential tool in my bag of tricks. Nice even lighting and breathable which allows for wind to sail right through and not effect your shot. Love this product.

[28 lb] The kit breaks down really nicely, but it also can be set back up very easily. The included diffusers are pretty thin, it would be nice if the kit came with at least a full stop diffuser.

[1] Fast to set up and pack away, easy storage and transport due to small size.
