If you want to swap out the mount on your CP.3 lens, this ZEISS CP.3 18mm T2.9 Lens Mount for Nikon Fwill allow you to convert your lens to Nikon F mount. All materials necessary to swap the mount are included, as is a lens cap to protect your lens after the new mount is installed. A: No, like all cine lenses, the ZEISS CP.3 lenses are not designed to accept screw in filters. You can filter the lens by using cut-filters in a matte box.

A: The ZEISS LWZ.3 does a good job of covering the RED Helium 8K Super35 sensor. If you record in either 8K WS (1.85:1) or 8K HD (1.78:1) mode in the camera, then the 21-100 image circle is large enough to project a complete image, with slight darkening of the edges when in the widest zoom setting. When in the 8K FF (Full Frame) setting, you will see vignetting around the top and bottom of the frame. If you go past 23mm to 25mm, the image becomes quite clean from edge to edge.

A: Zeiss 21-100mm T2.9-3.9 Lightweight Zoom LWZ.3 Lens creates the standard ANSI S35 image circle of 31.1mm. The image circle of and ARRI Alexa Mini is 33.59mm. So unfortunately this lens will not cover that sensor. You will need a full frame lens in order to do this.

[Nikon F] I cannot ask for a better auxiliary viewfinder. It does not get in the way of any adjustments made to the camera's controls at all. It gives you a very bright and accurate read of what the 18mm ZM lens is putting on the film, and there is no need to squint or make diopter adjustments. This viewfinder is a must for the 18mm focal length.

[0.42 lb] I use last model with fine bright lines and my Voigtlander 15mm. Usually, the brightlines of the external viewfinders show 10% less than the pictures taken. So I made lot of tests and I buy a a 18mm and not a 20mm like all people say with a 15mm lens on an M 8.2 to make a 21mm view on the pictures !

[Nikon F] Extremely lightweight and completely another type of beast if comparing with either Nikon or Canon plastic lenses. Interchangeable mount makes it a really cool lens for many situations. In PL version, you can also add a 2x Extender and get a 140-400mm with still a extremely good quality and very useful for wildlife as well as other appplications. Mount is very solid and weight helps to move quickly as well. Wether you want to shoot a film, a comercial, a concert or music video, having this lens will open you to a whole new world of possibilities due to its characteristics. The quality of this lens surpassed my expectations honestly but since it is not a rehoused still lens, but a whole new cinema lens design it makes sense. Many grumpy cinematographers would still say this is neither a DSLR lens nor a High End cinema lens, but I can tell you this lens is up to compete with bigger and more expensive lenses anytime for a much lower price, which still is not low but worth each penny.

[0.42 lb] This lens is my bread and butter. For all of my client work I need something with a consistent look across the entire aperture range. Up until purchasing this lens my primary client glass was a sigma 24-70 2.8, which although beautiful, got soft when zoomed in to 50mm and under performed in other areas.


Aside from the performance of this lens, there are two things I adore: It's construction and color consistency. Despite being incredibly light, this lens is built like a tank. I travel frequently and it holds up very well. Because Zeiss improved the color rendition in the CP.3 line, I often rent the 85 or 100mm for my b-cam and have a easy time matching up cameras.



Much of my client work requires cropping in substantially (thanks Instagram) and I can comfortably shoot this at it's minimum aperture of T2.1 for a tack sharp image that can be scaled up in post.


I think this lens' greatest competition is the Canon CN-E line, which shoots warm and renders terrible onion skinning on the bokeh. For me this is unforgivable, and I'm happy to see a neutral, clean image coming from the CP.3 line. Assuming this is the look you need, I'm not sure you can get a better lens in this price bracket.

[0.42 lb] I've had this lens for a little over one year now and it's basically lived on my Sony FX9 and FX6 since the moment it arrived to my door. The Zeiss CP.3 35mm lens is the perfect size and weight to fit in my backpack for when I need to pack light but packs the same punch as any top of the line cinema lens.


The optics on this lens are just outstanding. Beautiful color renditions matched with a tack sharp image really help get any job done.


I couldn't recommend this lens, or any of the other CP.3 lenses, more. It will definitely always have its place in my kit.
