If you want to swap out the mount on your CP.3 lens, this ZEISS CP.3 135mm T2.1 Interchangeable Lens Mount Nikon Fwill allow you to convert your lens to Nikon F mount. All materials necessary to swap the mount are included, as is a lens cap to protect your lens after the new mount is installed. While the process of swapping the mount is relatively simple, B&H recommends that for ideal performance and accurate collimation, the mount-swap process be carried out by a certified lens technician.

A: The ZEISS CP3 lenses incorporate a 3/8" thread support bracket at the bottom of the barrel. This can be tied into a camera support rig to isolate the lens from the camera and prevent any movement in the mount as the focus is racked.

A: Yes, the ZEISS CP.3 lenses with E-mount will fit directly to any of the Sony video cameras, including the FS5, FS7 and FX9.

A: there has been no official statement from Zeiss about a Cp.3 line of super speeds

A: No, for any filters you will have to use a matte box.

Q: 6. Does this lens send metadata to bmpcc 4k?

A: The ZEISS CP.3 XD lenses transfer meta data using the Cooke /i Technology protocol. This is available only on select cameras using a PL mount. The BMPCC with MFT mount does not support the /i Technology protocol and neither does the standard ZEISS CP.3 EF mount lens. You could use the BM Ursa Mini Pro with PL mount along with the ZEISS CP.3 XD PL and then there would be a meta data exchange.

Q: 7. Does this support 8K?

A: The ZEISS CP.3 50mm T2.1 Compact Prime Lens (Canon EF Mount, Feet) (B&H# ZECP350T29EF) offers a degree of sharpness that will be appropriate for 8K resolution video.

Q: 8. does this also work on super 35 ?

A: Yes it does.

Q: 9. Will this lens transmit information required for auto-focus, auto iris, stabilization and distance/f-stop info in viewfinder?

A: This mount version has no electronic communication.

Q: 10. can fixed uv filter?

A: It is not possible to fit a UV filter to the ZEISS Compact Prime CP.3 lenses. Like most cine lenses, they are designed for use with a matte box and cut filters.

[Nikon F] I have 10 lenses - they are all super sharp. This Milvus 135mm is by far the sharpest of the bunch (even sharper than my Milvus 100mm macro). Far too heavy for me to handhold, but on a tripod, produces finely focused pix with eye-popping color and definition. LOVE this lens - easily justifies the $$$ spent. 5

[Nikon F] I have owned this lens for some time now. First with my D850, then on my Nikon Z7. Now I am getting an adapter for my Leica SL2S. A soft falloff wide open and the focus throw allows for precise focus. With zoom magnification and focus peaking on mirrorless bodies it is a real pleasure to use. The colors and sharpness are already great OOC. I owned the Otus trio and sold them because they were clinically too perfect (not to mention HUGE). I am migrating to lens' now that have some character. This Milvus exhibits character. It should pair well with the SL2S. 5

[Nikon F] I hope these images help give you a feel for this lens with only a 30 mgpixel Canon 5d Mkiv. Can't imagine what 50 or 180 megapixels would look like. Fyi-Technique matters. B&H customer since 2008 or 9. Great service! 5

[Nikon F] This lens is unappreciated because it's manual focus and I understand why Manila focus when we live in a era of top notch autofocusing. Well I have this paired with my EOS R6 and Manual focus on this camera body has gotten a little better and faster. The color rendering and overall tone sets this lens apart I definitely recommend this lens if you are up to the challenge to manual focus. 5

[Nikon F] This is my first Zeiss lens; it will not be my last. Unlike so many lenses being sold today that struggle even on a 24 MPix camera, this lens will fully resolve and utilize all or very nearly all the pixels on today's cameras (24, 36, 45 MPix). Import an image shot with this lens to Adobe Lightroom and compare the image without and with lens profile corrections. The difference is all but imperceptible, confirming the ultra-low distortion and chromatic aberration specs. This is a lens that will last a career. I continue to shoot on Nikon DSLRs; this lens should be fully usable on Nikon mirrorless with the FTZ adaptor. 5

[Nikon F] The way this renders light to the sensor is simply stunning. Yea, give me good resolution...it's very sharp....but the colours and micro contrast and gradations in the image are unlike anything I have ever used. Using it on the Z9 along with the Nikon 50 1.2...which still seems excellent, just not quite so excellent. I get some artistic presentations of light from this lens that other lenses just don't produce. The manual focus is actually very workable with the way Zeiss has implemented it. 5
