This is a Rosco Storaro Color Effects Lighting Filter. Vittorio Storaro is a well-known and highly regarded cinematographer. His cinematic filters have been designed to generate strong emotional content and dramatic emphasis. The ten filters in his collection are representative of the ten chromatic elements of the visible spectrum.

Vittorio Storaro has won several (3) Academy Awards for his contributions to the world of lighting. Among his achievements are his work on The Last Emperor, Reds and Apocalypse Now.

A: The Roscolux filters are designed to insure the longest possible life under hot theatrical lights. While they will work fine with 1000W and 2000W lights, all filter gels may eventually warp and/or melt under high heat and constant usage. However, these are among the best options and are the industry standard for high temperature theatrical light fixture usage. They have a softening point of 125 C and a melting point of 300 C.

[Roll] Expensive RGB panels boast about built-in color gel presets. For the cost of a single meal dining out, you can get real Rosco color gels, and save yourself thousands of dollars on costly fixtures. There is also a school of thought that it is easier for digital sensors to interpret gelled lights versus more saturated RGBs, not to mention gels also simultaneously add diffusion. The result is a softer, silkier, less artificial look. Within five minutes of taking them out of the box, I was able to dial up incredibly cinematic looks. Another reviewer raises a valid point, you may want to pick up more than one filter kit to be able to apply the same gels to multiple lights. 5

[Roll] Plenty of options for creative color effects. The size fits perfectly on my 1x1 LED panels. Used together with a bi-color LED lets you tweak the color of each gel slightly for further creative control. 5
