The cocoa Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Telex Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Telex Wireless Transmittersis a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to a Telex LT100, PST16, VB12, WT10, WT50, WT55, WT60, WT80, WT500, WT700, or WT1000 wireless bodypack transmitter.

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Standard, for most uses.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this mic have the W4 or W5 sensitivity?

A: Sensitivity: W5 (red band): 4.0 mV/PascalStandard gain for most general uses. The B3 is available in two sensitivity response specifications. This version is optimized to accurately capture speech without noise and distortion.

Q: 2. Is this mic compatible with the GoPro Hero 5? I have the 3.5mm adapter.

A: Yes, the Azden WMS-PRO is compatible for use with the GoPro Hero 5.

Q: 3. Is this the same connection as an Audio-Technica 4 pin connector?

A: Audio Technica wireless transmitters utilize a 4 pin Hirose connector. This model would not be compatible.Countryman does offer the mic with the proper connector.

Q: 4. I am new to audio recording. I heard this requires phantom power. is phantom power the same for most audio recorders? Specifically, I have a Zoom H6. would all I need to do to make the Countryman lapel work is turn on Phantom Power? Or does it require another purchase to give it power?

A: You are correct that it needs Phantom power. The H6 - and most other recorders that spot an XLR mic input - will provide Phantom power and no additional hardware will be required to power this mic.

Q: 5. Would this mic also be acceptable to clip on an on-camera interview subject? Others in this $ range seem to only be omni mics.

A: A hypercardioid lavalier such as the Countryman Isomax 2 would not be a typical choice for dialogue, because the tight polar pattern can result in dropouts if the subject turns their head or otherwise shifts in position. For this reason, omnidirectional or cardioid lavaliers would usually be preferred.

Q: 6. This mic has a 4 pin mini xlr female connector. I was told to get Shure RPM626 pre amp for this, but is there a 4 pin xlr mini male to male xlr cable?

A: We do not have a cable with the connectors you need, but please be aware that a cable with the right connectors does not replace the need for using a preamp which the RPM626 does include.

Q: 7. Does the FCC still allow these frequencies for wireless mics? i understand zsome of the frequencies have been changed fpr wireless microphones.

A: Yes, as of this moment, the PRO Series frequencies (169.445MHz and 170.245MHz) are still allowed for unlicensed use by the FCC. As far as we are aware, the FCC has no plans to make changes to their rules regarding the VHF bands. Both changes in recent years and current plans for future changes mostly affect the UHF bands.

Q: 8. My preamp phantom power is 48V. Will that power the ISOMAX 2?

A: Yes. 48v will power this wired xlr microphone.

Q: 9. Will this lavalier work with Rycote Undercovers?

A: The Rycote Undercover - Lavalier Wind Cover and Adhesive Mount - B&H # RYUC will work with this mic.

Q: 10. Can I plug this directly into my camera's XLR port? If so, will I need to switch to phantom power?

A: Yes you can and you will need phantom power.
