The black Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Telex Wireless Transmittersfrom Countryman B6 Omni Lavalier Mic for Telex Wireless Transmittersis a very small lav microphone measuring one tenth of an inch in diameter with changeable protective caps, which provide moisture resistance and color options. The mic can be used to capture audio for theater, broadcast, churches, and general lavalier applications.

Built with a low handling noise and rugged construction, the B6 lavalier microphone can be easily hidden in hair or on costumes, or taped to a performer's face. The aramid cable and ultra-thin diaphragm deliver a natural sound while its tiny size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection. The B6's cable terminates to a TA4F connector for direct connection to a Telex LT100, PST16, VB12, WT10, WT50, WT55, WT60, WT80, WT500, WT700, or WT1000 wireless bodypack transmitter.

Additionally, swappable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or match other microphones. The B6 microphone is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps. These caps can be quickly removed for cleaning or replacement.

Looks great when you want to see it, virtually disappears when you don't. The B6 is easily hidden in hair or on costumes, with five colors to match clothing, hair, and skin tones. Use a felt tip marker to color the white caps for near-perfect concealability. Never suffer the hassle and degraded sound quality of under-clothing miking again.

The B6 is resistant to makeup, sweat, and moisture when used with the supplied protective caps, and works well in hair or on the body. The protective caps are easily removed for cleaning or replacement, and the aramid-reinforced cable gives it world-class survivability.

The B6 provides high-quality audio with low distortion at SPL up to 140 dB on 48V phantom power. The aramid cable and thin diaphragm combine to offer low handling noise. The flat frequency response accurately captures voice or instruments, and the small size makes the B6 easy to position for ambient noise and feedback rejection.

Changeable protective caps let you shape the frequency response for different situations or to match other microphones. Versions are available for different speaking or singing styles, with high overload capability for recording instruments.

Low, head miking for theater.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. does it have a self contained battery?

A: No, but if you want an dedicated power source you can purchase a phantom power unit for under $100 usually.

Q: 2. When it says Moisture Resistant Capsule does that mean I can strap it to someone standing in a pool talking? It might get dunked.

A: The manufacturer does not recommend submerging this mic, but it stands up pretty well to sweat and atmospheric moisture, even rain and snow occasionally. But a soaking? No - not at all. Always remember to thoroughly dry and clean your gear after exposure to moisture and salt air.

Q: 3. Is this the same connection as an Audio-Technica 4 pin connector?

A: Audio Technica wireless transmitters utilize a 4 pin Hirose connector. This model would not be compatible.Countryman does offer the mic with the proper connector.

Q: 4. what is the length of the cable?

A: Great mic, but really short cable length. Which I didn't even think to check before buying. Maybe 2 or 2.5 feet? Definitely get a longer XLR cord to go with it.

Q: 5. Is this a stereo mic? My film clip using this mic is audible in only one side of headphones.

A: I think the issue is that you are recording only to one channel (left or right), this is a setting in your camera or recording device. If its a single person, then you want both channels to be using the same mono audio track, if you have two people on the clip, then decide to make them both mono on the 2 channels or alternate the speakers between the two channels. Most likely, you just need to set the camera to record the single input on both channels or in your post editing software, select the audio channel and there should be an option to copy it or reference it for both the left and right channel,

Q: 9. How does this compare to the Microphone Madness MM-MSLM Omnidirectional MatchStick Lapel Microphone?

A: The Countryman EMW is practically an industry standard. Microphone Madness is a an excellent product for the money though.

Q: 10. Does the FCC still allow these frequencies for wireless mics? i understand zsome of the frequencies have been changed fpr wireless microphones.

A: Yes, as of this moment, the PRO Series frequencies (169.445MHz and 170.245MHz) are still allowed for unlicensed use by the FCC. As far as we are aware, the FCC has no plans to make changes to their rules regarding the VHF bands. Both changes in recent years and current plans for future changes mostly affect the UHF bands.
