Sigma 50mm T1.5 FF Prime Lens EF Mount Feetcombine the same high-quality optics and mechanics of their Global Vision still line in a cine-oriented design. This 50mm Canon EF prime is a mid-range focal length in the series, offering full-frame sensor coverage, 6-8K resolution, and a T1.5 aperture in a compact, lightweight form; it is also available in PL and Sony E-mounts. Electronic contacts in the mount provide lens data communication between the lens and the camera. A common 95mm front diameter and similar physical attributes across the lens line make it easier and quicker to mount lens accessories such as matte boxes, follow focuses, and lens control motors.

The 9-bladed iris produces pleasing out-of-focus bokeh effects and ghosting and flaring have been minimized. Color reproduction is standardized for easier color correction. Each lens in the range offers consistent lens gear positions and 180° of focus barrel rotation. The FF High-Speed Primes also feature a clickless iris with linear markings, dampeners on each gear ring for silent operation, industry-standard 0.8 module gear pitch, and engraved markings for durability. Focus marks are in feet with select marks in luminous paint for easy visibility in low light.

To relieve stress on your camera's lens mount, a support foot is built into the dust- and water-resistant metal lens body. If you wish to fit your FF High-Speed Prime lens to a different camera, the Canon EF and Sony E mount versions can be converted from one to the other by an authorized Sigma service center (not available for PL mounts).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this lens has got the AF mode? Thanks,

A: There is no autofocus (AF) on these lenses. They are entirely mechanical and have no electronic elements.

Q: 2. Country of origin?,Germany?dr asok

A: The COUNTRY OF ORIGIN is GERMANY.

Q: 3. Can we use this lens with Canon Speedbooster on Red Komodo and not creating vignetting? Thanks.

A: Yes, you can use the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x with the Sigma 40mm T1.5 FF Canon EF Mount Lens. There will be no vignetting.

Q: 4. Does this set come with a case?

A: No, the Sigma T1.5 Cine FF High-Speed Art Prime 5-Lens Set does not come with a case.

Q: 5. Love this lens but the ARRI LMB 4x5 mattebox 95mm clamp on adapter ring doesn’t cover the gaps on left and right side. In other words, because the lens hood has the cut outs on the left and right side of the lens, the mattebox adapter ring isn’t deep enough to cover those gaps. So, you have to tape the openings each time you use this lens. Or, is there a better solution? A deeper adapter ring? It needs to remain at 95mm so that it’s easy to swap lenses.

A: As an alternative, you can use a 15mm LWS rod system so you can mount the mattebox using ARLMB4515LWS and ARLMB45TFA. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1341037-REG/arri_k2_0013427_lmb_4x5_15mm_lws.html https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1341036-REG/arri_k2_0014206_lmb_4x5_tilt_and.html

Q: 6. Is there a 65mm Sigma Art version with autofocus?

A: No, there is no autofocus version of the Sigma 65mm T1.5 FF High-Speed Cine Prime Lens (Canon EF Mount, Feet) in EF mount.

Q: 7. When shooting in the set, have you ever thought that you wish the focus of these lenses had a 300-degree rotation instead of 180? Would you mind describing the situation?

A: Large focus throws are imperative when working with significantly shallow depth of field.

Q: 8. Does the lens have a metadata system that sends focus distance and T-stop data back to the camera? (Like Arri LDS)

A: This lens does not have any electronics to send meta data to a camera, like the /i Electronics Technology inside Cooke Cine Lenses.

Q: 9. Can this lens kit be used on a C200 effectively even tho it's not a full frame body?

A: Yes it can.

Q: 10. Can the Xenon handle S35 Sensors at 8k?

A: Yes

[43.3 mm] If you're doing a prime lens, you'll be fine. The color is good and it's crisp. It has less cat's eye than a canon cn-e and Zeiss CP. A Sigma cine zoom lens is another story. The focus breathing is real!

[Canon EF] I compared many lenses in this range, and it came down to these and the Tokina Vistas. The Tokina's had a beautiful image, but for $6k a lens, I was sure if the value was there.

So I pulled the trigger on a set of these sigmas, and I couldn't be happier. It's the best value for the dollar. I've used their art photo line, but these seem to have a better resolution, they are crispier, and the bokeh falls off like butter. You won't find a better value for the price. The next level up is $6-7k, then $10k

[82 mm] 7 beautiful, color matched, mechanically smooth, Art level lenses in cine mounts with a full range from 14-135mm. Using with PL mount on Helium Red sensor. Now in one single case for all lenses. Exceptional clarity and beautiful falloff. B&H was very helpful in making this purchase.

[9] This is part of a kit i bought. This is probably my favorite lens of sigma cine line. Super sharp. Good color and contrast, as they all the cine line does. The numbers even glow in the dark if they are exposed to enough light. Nice little touch. Could not be happier with this lens.

[82 mm] I actually purchased the 24, 50 and 85 version of this lens. This thing is built like a tank. Picture quality is beautiful and works great with our Z Cam E2 F6.

[Imperial] I just started using the Sigma FF lenses and shot in a very humid location. No internal condensation seen. These lenses have a much higher resolution as far as sharpness and critical focus goes as compared to my previous cine style lenses. Robust build to say the least. I haven't noticed any chromatic aberration at all. Looking forward to using these on feature work!

[T16] This lens is breathtaking. At T1.5 it gets a fantastic creamy look that is not achievable with the 85 or 135. I highly recommend.
