Sigma 85mm T1.5 FF Prime Lens EF Mount Feetcombine the same high-quality optics and mechanics of their Global Vision still line in a cine-oriented design. This 85mm Canon EF mount prime is a longer focal length in the series, offering full-frame sensor coverage, 6-8K resolution, and a T1.5 aperture in a compact, lightweight form; it is also available in PL and Sony E-mounts. Electronic contacts in the mount provide lens data communication between the lens and the camera. A common 95mm front diameter and similar physical attributes across the lens line make it easier and quicker to mount lens accessories such as matte boxes, follow focuses, and lens control motors.

The 9-bladed iris produces pleasing out-of-focus bokeh effects and ghosting and flaring have been minimized. Color reproduction is standardized for easier color correction. Each lens in the range offers consistent lens gear positions and 180° of focus barrel rotation. The FF High-Speed Primes also feature a clickless iris with linear markings, dampeners on each gear ring for silent operation, industry-standard 0.8 module gear pitch, and engraved markings for durability. Focus marks are in feet with select marks in luminous paint for easy visibility in low light.

To relieve stress on your camera's lens mount, a support foot is built into the dust- and water-resistant metal lens body. If you wish to fit your FF High-Speed Prime lens to a different camera, the Canon EF and Sony E mount versions can be converted from one to the other by an authorized Sigma service center (not available for PL mounts).

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. are these PL mount?

A: These are available in Canon EF, Sony E and PL mount. Order them, we will contact you to ask which lens mount you wish.

Q: 2. Do these lenses cover 4k 6k and 8k sensors? Do these lenses feature breathing in the backstage?

A: The Meike 85mm T2.1 FF-Prime Cine Lens (PL Mount) covers full frame sensors and all smaller ones. It has the resolving power to work with 8K sensors. The focus breathing is minimal.

Q: 3. Which matte box (with VND) would work with this lens?

A: The Meike 85mm T2.1 FF Prime Cine Lens (E Mount) has an 82mm filter thread that will allow you to work with the Tilta Mirage VND Kit with Mirage Matte Box listed below: Tilta Mirage VND Kit with Mirage Matte Box BH #TIMBT16A

Q: 4. How much does the lens itself weight? The specs only list package weight

A: The PL version weighs 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb.

Q: 5. Is there a photo version? Sigma Art 65mm EF? With AF etc

A: There is no photography version in EF mount of the Sigma 65mm ART lens.

Q: 6. Which Sigma hard case does the 65mm fit?

A: It would work with the Sigma PMC-002 Hard Case for 5x FF High Speed Prime Cine Lenses. If you own the five lens set you would need to remove one lens to fit the additional 65mm lens. Also you could use the following case to store extra lenses like the 65mm or the lens you remove from PMC-002 to fit the 65mm. Pelican 1510 Carry-On Case with Foam Set (Black) B&H # PE1510FB

Q: 7. Can this lens work for a blackmagic cinema camera 6K pro / G2??

A: Yes, the Meike 85mm T2.1 FF-Prime Cine Lens (EF Mount) will natively mount on both the Blackmagic Design Pocket cinema camera G2 and 6K Pro cameras.

Q: 8. Does the Sigma ART line of smaller (photography sized) lenses feature the same optical performance as these?

A: When it comes to lenses the quality of the lens can be subjective, but I would say the look/operation of the Sigma 50mm T1.5 Fully Luminous FF High-Speed Prime (EF Mount, Feet) would general be considered superior to the Sigma ART series.

Q: 9. Can we use this lens with Canon Speedbooster on Red Komodo and not creating vignetting? Thanks.

A: Yes, you can use the Canon Mount Adapter EF-EOS R 0.71x with the Sigma 40mm T1.5 FF Canon EF Mount Lens. There will be no vignetting.

Q: 10. Does the Sigma /i lenses have a port for Cooke /I or is that information only exchanged over the mount?

A: The information is communicated over the mount, electronically.

[85mm] This 85mm is a new addition to my Sigma lens set. I already use the 20, 24, 35 and 50, and they are all simply fantastic. First off, these lenses are FAST! 20mm T1.5??? Whaaat? That's madness. Next, they are all incredibly sharp wide open. No need to stop down to get a nice, crisp image. And with the sharpness, comes a beautiful creamy bokeh and great texture and colors. Add to that a (relatively) small size for a cine lens, a nice focus throw/rotation for super accurate focus, beautiful build quality and 8K ready, and you have an excellent tool for many years to come.

[Imperial] For the money, you cant go wrong. Solid build and great size. Image is just fantastic.

[Canon EF] I compared many lenses in this range, and it came down to these and the Tokina Vistas. The Tokina's had a beautiful image, but for $6k a lens, I was sure if the value was there.

So I pulled the trigger on a set of these sigmas, and I couldn't be happier. It's the best value for the dollar. I've used their art photo line, but these seem to have a better resolution, they are crispier, and the bokeh falls off like butter. You won't find a better value for the price. The next level up is $6-7k, then $10k

[9] I just started using the Sigma FF lenses and shot in a very humid location. No internal condensation seen. These lenses have a much higher resolution as far as sharpness and critical focus goes as compared to my previous cine style lenses. Robust build to say the least. I haven't noticed any chromatic aberration at all. Looking forward to using these on feature work!

[T1.5] I have both the Sigma 20mm and 105 mm High Speed primes and couldn't be happier. The construction is solid and the glass is beautiful sharp and has a nice warmth to the bokeh. Worth the investment.

[T1.5] If you're doing a prime lens, you'll be fine. The color is good and it's crisp. It has less cat's eye than a canon cn-e and Zeiss CP. A Sigma cine zoom lens is another story. The focus breathing is real!

[T1.5] I actually purchased the 24, 50 and 85 version of this lens. This thing is built like a tank. Picture quality is beautiful and works great with our Z Cam E2 F6.

[Yes] Pleasantly surprised by this lens. Used to own Zeiss CP.2, and have rented the CP.2 Super Speed 50mm many times, as well as the Canon CN-E lenses. In terms of sharpness, this Sigma easily beats all three of those. In some ways, this is to be expected because those are older lenses, and were designed before 4K was a ubiquitous resolution. If you're still shooting/delivering in HD, then it may not matter. These days, the differences are noticeable in 4k, especially shooting wider than T4. This lens is an amazing value and punches well above her weight. Sharp enough to resolve tack-sharp in 4k, and they claim it's sharp enough for 8k. I won't comment much on color/contrast rendition and character because it's so subjective, but to me it produces a very straightforward and grade-able look and doesn't seem to color the footage much. Also haven't tested/can't comment on lens flare characteristics. Favorite features: -Hardly any chromatic aberration wide open, which is where the other lenses in this range typically fall apart wider than T4. Still very sharp at T2. -Offered in E-Mount with is great for my FS7. -Build quality is as good as one would hope for a lens in this range. -No focus breathing!

[T1.5] This 35mm Cine lens has completely changed not only what I use on a shoot-to-shoot basis, but the entire look of everything I shoot. It's the perfect focal length for interviews in 4k and I've also been using it for handheld shoots and B-Roll.
Yeah, it's a prime so you have to walk around or move your tripod to get the close up or wide, but for the quality of the image it's worth it.

The 35mm has created a new cinematic look to my work and I'm saving for more from this family to replace my older Canon photography lenses. Can't recommend enough! Sharp, clean, amazing depth of field and bokeh. Don't hesitate!
