A: The manufacturer does not recommend submerging this mic, but it stands up pretty well to sweat and atmospheric moisture, even rain and snow occasionally. But a soaking? No - not at all. Always remember to thoroughly dry and clean your gear after exposure to moisture and salt air.

Q: 2. AKG states that it can be used for Field Recording. Can a wind muff fit on this? If so, which one?

A: You can use a wind muff on the Lyra, but AKG does not have a specific wind muff or foam windscreen designed to fit. We have not tested any of the existing wind muffs for other products. The models we have for using with the built-in mics on portable recorders seem to be too small. Unfortunately we can not recommend any specific item that will properly fit the Lyra.

A: Yes, as of this moment, the PRO Series frequencies (169.445MHz and 170.245MHz) are still allowed for unlicensed use by the FCC. As far as we are aware, the FCC has no plans to make changes to their rules regarding the VHF bands. Both changes in recent years and current plans for future changes mostly affect the UHF bands.

A: Unfortunately the PMEMS10 is not compatible with a computers mic input jack. This is designed with a 4 pin connector that is compatible only with Shure brand wireless transmitters.

A: Unfortunately they do not make a vampire clip for the Isomax 2 only the B series of mic's.

A: A hypercardioid lavalier such as the Countryman Isomax 2 would not be a typical choice for dialogue, because the tight polar pattern can result in dropouts if the subject turns their head or otherwise shifts in position. For this reason, omnidirectional or cardioid lavaliers would usually be preferred.
