DOD’s Carcosa Fuzz is a pedal intended for use with electric guitar and bass that’s designed to provide not only classic fuzz-distortion tones, but also modern fuzz timbres. The pedal accomplishes this tonal variety with two controls—the AFTER knob, which changes the texture of the distortion’s characteristics, and the DEMHE/HALI toggle switch, which changes the overall fuzzing by shaping the frequency content of the signal. Set to DEMHE, the pedal provides a bass and low-mid boost particularly suited for use in conjunction with a clean amp channel. Set to HALI, on the other hand, and the pedal cuts the bass, giving you a tone that works well in conjunction with an already dirty amp sound.

The pedal features a true-bypass footswitch, so when you disengage the Carcosa, it will have no impact on your signal chain. You can power this pedal with a 9V battery (available separately) or a power adapter (also available separately).

  • BEFORE: This knob increases/decreases the amount of fuzz.
  • OUTPUT: This control increases/decreases the overall output level; as there is a lot of level provided by the pedal, you can use this control as a boost
  • AFTER: This knob acts as a bias control, changing the texture of the fuzz, with counter-clockwise giving you loud “woody” fuzz tones, and full clockwise affecting a more “broken” fuzz timbre, and middle ranges providing anything from a classic to more modern “wall-of-sound” fuzz voicing
  • DEMHE/HALI: Use the DEMHE voicing (up / toggle position) for a bass and low-mid boost which works great for clean channels; use the HALI voicing (Down Toggle Position) for a bass cut that works great for dirty channels
  • HI-CUT: Reduces the amount of high-frequency detail, and works alongside the DEMHE/HALI and AFTER controls in sculpting the overall tone of your fuzz

A: As the Yamaha MG06X 6-Input Mixer with Built-In Effects does not have built-in USB interface capabilities itself, an external USB interface would need to be implemented in between the mixer and the computer. [4 mA] The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player.

There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal.

It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality.

Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.

[5 x 3.5 x 2.6"] Pre-drive tone and output bass/treb is useful. Nice at less extreme settings and just leave on.

[True bypass] I'm a Zoom fan from way back. This new offering from Zoom is very user friendly and intuitive. The lcd display is large and very easy to navigate. That fact that it also houses a looper and a rhythm section with multiple drum beats is an added bonus. And then of course is the most important thing - it sounds great. I'm extremely happy with it. Thank you B&H.

[4 mA] Zoom knocks it out of the park with every product they make. I needed a volume pedal. This multieffects unit cost less than a volume pedal. Plus it gives me a looper, drum machine, and multieffects.

This pedal provides a studio quality effect unit for the price range. I don't play out live so I don't know what the noise level of this pedal is like under stage conditions. I also bought the Zoom MS-50G which is a higher quality pedal but not as fun. The MS1 has knobs and switches for effective realtime control.

It is very easy and faster to write and customize effects compared to the MS-50G. Both pedals are great.

[4 mA] Impressive right out of the box. The possible combinations effects, amps, synths, etc... make this Boss a virtual limitless fountain of sound.

[True bypass] I needed something for my living room and practicing while watching TV late at night without a full pedal board or multi-effects box. This along with a Boss RC-3 and a mini mixer for my wireless headphones provides everything I have in my studio at a mini level. The sounds are good enough. There are enough options in sound to play most anything. Eventually I'll try this little beast as a sub for my full pedal board and see how it works in a live jam. One pedal to do everything. It's not perfect but it is great. I wish Zoom would provide updates to it and a better manager. It's pretty old by today's standards and if Zoom provided updated files they would sell even more if these great little boxes.
B&H had the best deal available and as always they provide excellent service. Thank you B&H. I'll Be Back, lol

[0.715 lb] For a pedal that's been around for years, it's very high quality/price ratio. Probably the king of all the budget multi-effect options out there. The interface does take some getting used to, but the sounds you can create with it are solid.

[True bypass] First, I love this item . I have a Roland GR55 now. When I have access to AC power, I have a ball with it.
But,
I busk in my town’s Main Street where AC power is not available. Granted, the SY-1 isn’t as sophisticated and the GR 55, but now I can expand my guitars palette of tones.

I had been searching for this item for months. All the typical outlets kept pushing their in stock dates forward in time. I even made a purchase of the SY-1 on eBay, only to have the seller cancel the sale for no apparent reason.
I searched again and saw it listed on B&H. It said it was in stock. I called and was told it was in inventory. A few days later it was in my hands .

Cannot Be too positive about my experience with B&H. They came thru..hands down.

I have shopped with them before, but now, they are my first go to place for music gear.

THANK YOU!!
