Constructed of chrome-plated steel, this 9" Baby Pin Wall Plate Impact-Resistantis a must-have accessory on any type of production set. All that's needed is a flat surface for its base to attach and user-supplied screws to mount it on walls, ceilings, or floors. Alternately, it's often gaffer-taped to apple boxes or the floor to temporarily support lighting equipment at a very low angle. The industry-standard 5/8" diameter pin is welded to the base for extra strength and fits a very wide variety of lights and other gear with a matching 5/8" receiver. The 5/8" pin has a hole for a safety wire.

Q: 1. The collar end is tapped, but not with 1/4-20 or 3/8-16. What is the spec of that tap?

A: From our measurements in the store with a caliper, it seems to be unthreaded and approximately 0.34" in diameter.

Q: 2. I tried to use this on a c-stand with my elinchrom D-Lite 400W/s RX 4 Flash Head but the head does not fit on it properly. I bought the elinchrom in a bundle that included light stands. The elinchrom fits on the light stand perfectly. Now, I want to put the flash head on my c-stand. What are the proper attachments to do this to connect it to a c-stand?I bought the following products:a href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1086351-REG/elinchrom_el_20842_2_d_lite_rx_4_2_light.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1086351-REG/elinchrom_el_20842_2_d_lite_rx_4_2_light.html/aa href= http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/372016-REG/Impact_CT40MKIT_Master_Century_C_Stand.html target= _blank http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/372016-REG/Impact_CT40MKIT_Master_Century_C_Stand.html/aThanks.

A: Your Elinchrom Head should fit on the 6-inch pin on the smaller, grooved, off-set end of the pin. But, first slide the small end of the pin through the appropriate-sized hole in the grip-head (on the arm extension) after turning the handle on the grip head to loosen the grip head and open the holes wide enough to slip the pin through. Then tighten the grip head handle to hold the pin in place, and to the angle you choose. Once that is done, you can then attach the Elinchrom head to the grooved end of the pin and re-adjust the angle and height.

Q: 3. Is the plate magnetic? Could the Aputure MC stick to it?

A: The Impact Wall Plate with 3" Baby Swivel Pin is comprised of steel so the Aputure MC can stick to the back of it.

Q: 4. Which hole is the "safety cable hole"?

A: safety cable goes on the Baby Pin

Q: 5. Is the top of the pin big enough to attach a grip head? I want to wall mount this with a 40" arm & small light over a table.

A: The Impact Wall Plate with 90-Degree Baby Pin has a standard Baby Pin, just like any light stand, it it is computable with a standard grip head.

Q: 6. Why has B&H not updated the product title & description to explain it is not threaded?

A: The Impact SRP-110P 6" Baby Pin listed above has a 1/4"-20 female thread in front of the pin (mounting side) and a 3/8”-16 female thread in the back of the pin (collar side).

Q: 7. Is this pin threaded to receive a 1/4 -10 double end spigot? Trying to solve attaching a Amran/Apurture LED panel.

A: No, the hole on the bottom of the Impact 6.0" Pin is not threaded, and will not accommodate a spigot or an adapter. Please contact us at info@gradusgroup.com or the B&H Photo lighting department for more information about connecting your Amran Aperture LED panel.

Q: 8. How much weight can these support? I want to use three of these to hang a 37-pound canvas backdrop on my wall (the backdrop is mounted on a top rail made of wood with three holes for hanging).

A: These are welded steel. The weak point will be the wall and how you anchor them.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the Matthews BabySitt'r?

A: This is a Baby 5/8 pin it's compatible with any Baby pin accessory.

Q: 10. QnA update for 2022: a lot of old comments on not threaded but the item's title reads this way and I have 3 on my shelf all with the pin-side having 1/4 tap and 1 of the 3 have a 3/8 tap on collar-side. Is the current 2022 version actually tapped on both ends and the QnA is just outdated?

A: The Impact 6" baby pin Has a 3/8 tap on the bottom and a 1/4 20 on the top.

[Steel] I call them pigeon plates because that is what my theater friends always called them. I have several on my studio walls. Anything that will reduce clutter on the floor is a welcome addition. Great build, heavy gauge steel, tight joints.

[Steel] I was pleasantly surprised how nicely finished these are; the chrome finish is done nicely across the front and back. They're solid and surprisingly heavy. Good value for the money.

[1.8 lb] If you drill holes in them they can hold a Neumann KH150!
(Sort of a pain to get them lined up exactly but it will save you almost $100!)

[1.8 lb] These baby plates are incredibly useful for rigging lights and props. It's a must have tool for any studio. One can also attach a multitude of grip tools.

My only complaint is that I wish B&H carried this size in Black.
