Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. This attenuator cable is -25 dB. Other cables are -35dB. What cable is more suitable for Tascam DR40, 40X ?

A: If using this to connect a DR40 into a camera, the -25db cable would be fine to ensure a strong enough level into the preamp of the camera while not overloading it.

Q: 2. Is there the same type cable as this but longer than 9"? I need it for a GH5 on a gimbal.

A: I would say 12 to 14 inches.

Q: 3. I would like to connect the audio output of the headphone jack of my JVC HM750 video camera into my GoPro camera. Is this the proper Headphone Tap Cable to do so or would you recommend another type of Headphone Tap Cable sold by B&H?

A: This cable will allow you to connect from the headphone output of your JVC to the input of camera, Go Pro included.

Q: 4. Does this cable work for zoom f6 too??

A: Hi Ching. This cable attenuates the signal 35dB, so it might attenuate the signal a bit more than desired. We have a couple of cables specifically for the Zoom H6, the LN2MIC-ZOOMH6 and LN2MIC-ZMH6-MON. These Zoom H6-specific cables attenuate 25dB rather than 35dB. The LN2MIC-TASDR100 cable will work, but you might have to raise the audio level up on your camera if the audio level is a bit low. Thank you!

Q: 5. The screws from the handles to the the cage brackets are too small - unsure how this would work without a screw adapter?

A: The PRL Perfect Grip Handles with ARRI-Style Rosettes (Set of 2) (B&H# PRLMCHANDLES) features ARRI-style rosettes, the screws in the center of such rosettes being too small for 1/4"-20 female threads. (That's because 6mm is just a bit smaller than 1/4".) However, they handles may be used with the included rosette mount adapters. Those adapters will fit into many cages, such as the PRL Director's Cage for TVLogic F-5A and VFM-055A (B&H# PRLMC5TVLGC) with its 1/4"-20 threads and anti-twist pin receivers.

Q: 6. is it compatible with Tascam DR-40?

A: Yes, this Sescom cable is compatible for use with the Tascam DR-40 recorder.

Q: 7. Would this cable work to record line level from a mixer to an iPhone?

A: The Sescom LN2MIC-TASDR100 Line Out to Camera Mic Level In Cable will convert line level signal to mic level, but you would need to use additional adapters to connect from the mixer and to enable compatibility with the iPhone. As another option, Sescom does offer other types of line to mic attenuator cables that are intended for use with smartphones and have a 3.5mm TRRS connector on the end that connects to the smartphone which you would use with the Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (B&H # APLAADAP) to convert the TRRS plug to Lightning. Depending on the mixer and its available output connectors, you will have different options such as the Sescom Dual 1/4" Phone Plug to 3.5mm TRRS Plug Line to Microphone Summing Cable 3' (B&H # SEIPSUMTS3) or the Sescom Stereo RCA to 3.5mm TRRS Plug Line to Mic Level Summing Cable for Mobile Devices 36" (B&H # SEIPSUMRCA3) or the Sescom Dual Female XLR to 3.5mm TRRS Plug - Line to Mic Level Summing Cable for Mobile Devices 3' (B&H # SEIPSUMXLR3). These cables will send the left and right output from the mixer and will connect to the iPhone when used with the Apple Lightning adapter

Q: 8. Will this work to connect my Canon t4i to my Zoom H1? Need to be sure.

A: Yes it will work and is a compatible compatible cable.

Q: 9. Does this cord also work for the arc 1?

A: No, the Rhino Camera Gear Motor Cable (42", Straight to Right Angle) is designed for the ARC II.

Q: 10. I just bought these but the handles do not attach to the monitor mounts - the screw just spins inside the rosette. Am i missing something?

A: If you are using a compatible display from TV-Logic it would need a cage like this model. PRL Director's Cage for TVLogic F-7H and F-7H Mark II BH #PRLMC7TVLGC https://bhpho.to/3CNsnvh

[March 9, 2017] Now that the 7D has manual audio, this makes life much easier. Works just as described with DR-100. The size of the 1/8 plugs seemed too large by just a hair. They went in really hard to the camera. Could be that that jack on the camera is just tight. I also tested this with a Mackie VLZ 1604 and a AKG C3000 B. It worked well but the 35dB cut was around 10-12dB too much. It worked but I like to see the levels much higher than that. Next time I would re-route the output to slam more signal into the 7D. If I am out and about, I use the DR-100 and it worked like a gem.

[208] This cable seems like a no-brainer but for those who have gone thru the riggers of setting up dslr to tascam recorders know it can be a major headache with less than great results. This cable works great

[Gordon Laing] This cable worked great to go from my Tascam DR40 to a Canon D5. It s properly sized when you mount the DR40 to a hotshoe and want to use the camera mic input.

[1.95 lb] Works just as listed however I purchased a second cable that splits the line for use with headphones.

[Gordon Laing] The cable sets down the gain from a mic or mixer to a DSLR 3.5mm audio input. Finally the audio in the captured file is useful without having to use double system sounds files and resyncing in post.

[Yes] I bought this item as an attenuator to bring the line level output of my keyboard amp directly to my TASCAM's DR-05 digital recorder. Simple and effective. No Problem.

[208] With the FCC about to shut down the thousands of dollars worth of UHF professional mics I have, I took a chance on the new Sony Bluetooth offerings from B&H. After finding NO interference in either midtown Manhattan or downtown Washington, DC, I wanted some spare attenuated cables to use from my four Sony Bluetooth mic receivers to (a splitter to) my camera. Since Sony doesn't sell parts direct, I tried this from a trusted supplier (B&H), and it works great. Don't need to replace the Sony OEM cable in early going, but nice to have this back-up in my kit!

[208] I have been searching for this product now for some years and finally there it is, ordering very easy, delivery earlier than expected, made life recording from a camera with only mike input so much simpler.
Good Job B&H Photo
