Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have been soaking a photo that is stuck to glass overnight and water and the very bottom part is still stuck. Can I add photo flow to the water to help the last part come away from the glass without tearing the picture?

A: I generally prefer photo flo as a clean up rinse for images that are old, faded, dirty or curled as well as a final rinse due to its great capacity for leaving a print literally liquid-spot clean.

Q: 2. Can I reuse the developer after mixing with water?

A: The Ilford Multigrade Developer has good keeping properties and so can typically be reused.

Q: 3. Hello, I recently read that this chemical can be used to remove mold and fungus marks on old film before digitizing. Any help is appreciated. Thank You John

A: Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution is used really as a drying agent and helps to reduce streaking and water spots. Best is to use film cleaner. But it does depend on the type of film. And with any cleaner you should test the cleaner on the film to make sure like any cleaner that it does not damage the film. This is some options. But please make sure it is for the type of film you have, https://bhpho.to/2WF58ky

Q: 4. How long will this chemical last before expiring?

A: There is no posted date on the bottle, only a batch number. However, according to Ilford: "Full unopened bottles of MULTIGRADE and PQ UNIVERSAL developer concentrates stored in cool conditions, 5–20ºC, (41–68ºF), will keep for 2 years. Once opened use the concentrate completely within six months and keep all bottles tightly sealed until used. Working strength MULTIGRADE developer, PQ UNIVERSAL and BROMOPHEN left in an open dish should not be kept for more than one working day. If stored in a tightly capped bottle they may last up to 24 hours."

Q: 5. does this expire or have a shelf life?

A: I've used 20+ year old photo flo without issue. I don't know if there is an expiration date however.

Q: 6. Can this be used on BW, C41, & E6 films?

A: This product is designed for use when processing Black and White Film only.

Q: 7. Can this be reused once mixed or is it one shot.

A: Yes. The following can be used as you go and one bottle provides 4 gallons.

Q: 8. I am using this as an additive to a phonograph cleaning machine. This can not leave any residue behind. The recording will also be vacuum dried. Does anyone have experience here?

A: Kodak Photo Flo is not made for cleaning records. I would recommend this Ion Audio cleaner: https://bhpho.to/3d1m6xJ

Q: 9. Dumb question? I assume I still need to give my film a final squeegee after using Phot-Flo?

A: After you use Kodak Photo-Flo 200 Solution (16 oz), you do squeegee the film.

Q: 10. Will this work with graded paper (not multi grade or poly contrast papers)?

A: Yes this fixer can work with graded papers.

[0.2 lb] One gallon graduated pitchers are not always easy to find online, so I was thankful when I found this one in stock. I have two of these, and they work great. My only suggestion would be to have the graduated scale printed on both sides of the pitcher. I like to use my graduates with my left hand, and the scale on this one is printed with the handle on the right side as it faces you.

[0.2 lb] I switched to this a year ago and love it. It is easy to mix, last long and produces great negatives. The solution get dark with time but seems to have no impact on the development.

[6 x 5.5 x 4"] This stuff is great and you can absolutely use HC110 dilutions and times. It's not as thick as kodak chemicals but that's honestly preferable, as the L110 is much easier to pour.

[6 x 5.5 x 4"] I use it for 4x5 film developing. My developing device (Stearman SP445 tank) takes 16 ounces so this is perfect to have all your chemicals measured and ready to go. The markings on the side are easy to read and I like the open grip handle. The handle makes it easy to hang up to dry on a clothes line or whatever line you use to hang and dry your film.

[0.2 lb] With the spotty availability of HC110 and its ever increasing cost I decided to give LC110 a go. I was not disappointed. I used my usual time, temperature, and dilution. These gave me the same results as with HC110 without any testing to establish exposure indexes etc.

[0.2 lb] Best pitcher EVER!

[0.2 lb] Was initially skeptical that it is the same formulation as Kodak HC110. Used it to develop a sheet of 8x10 with the same dilution and timing as HC110, and the negative turned out almost the same. Good alternative to the original HC110.

[Plastic] Gone through roughly half the bottle in 6 months & the results have been consistant throughout. Was a few hiccups in the beginning for developing but that was mainly me messing up.

This is a great choice if you're getting into at-home b&w film developing & dont want to spend too much on a film developer. This is equivalent to Kodak's HC110, though cheaper & in a smaller bottle
