A: The G2 version is far better than the first version which I had and sold to buy the G2. It does not freeze up on my Canon EOS 70D. Works perfect on it. Also works on my 5D. Cannot speak for 80D but I would expect it to!!! Suggest you consult the forum ugly Hedgehog. Lots of users there

A: I use this lens on my D500 for daytime sports and it is an awesome lens for the money. I have a Nikon 300mm 2.8, but love the zoon option with the Tamron. On the D500 with the DX crop and shooting at around 900mm gives me so many new options that I have never had before for facial close ups during daytime sports. It is difficult to tell the difference between the Tamron 150-600mm and the Nikon 300 2.8 when you look at the cost difference. I love this lens.

Q: 5. How does one install the lens coat and still use the zoon? The barrel fits tightly inside at 150mm.

A: The lens coat comes in multiple pieces ... there are multiple pieces for the lower portion of the lens, a piece that fits over the end of the lens, and a piece that fits the lens shield. The individual pieces cover all the sections of the lens, except the barrel, and allows the lens to be extended from the closed position (150 mm) to the fully extended position (600). When you extend the zoom, the barrel does not have a coat.An wrap does come with the LensCoat lens cover that you can wrap around the barrel when fully extended. The wrap is fastened with Velcro. With the wrap in place, the barrel can not be retracted. If you leave this wrap off, you can freely move the barrel (zoom).

A: Unfortunately, this lens is only compatible with Nikon DSLRs which support an electromagnetic diaphragm, which does not include the older D200.

A: The Lenscoat product arrives in small sections. Before putting it on the lens, its best to match up each section of the coat with the appropriate section of the lens it is to go on. Each section will be evident as to what part of the lens it is to be placed on. As far as putting the coat on the lens itself goes, its much like putting on a sweatband on your wrist or head. Just stretch the neoprene out a bit and lift the first section over the circumfrence of the lens, and pull it back to its apporpriate position.
