The lens cover provides a thermal barrier during cold weather, and breaks up the shape of your lens, making it less visible to wildlife.

For ease of use, there is a clear plastic window allowing you to access the AF controls and the distance scale, and an orientation hole for viewing the red dot indicator, which allows you to mount the lens on your camera without removing the lens cover. The cover includes an extra, easy to install and remove, touch-fastened piece for when you need to zoom the lens, and two additional pieces for use with the rotating tripod collar.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can I use this for EOS 6D camera?

A: Yes, but the cover is only for the lens. But the lens is good for the 6D.

Q: 2. Anybody use this with a Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8? and how bad is the vignette problem?

A: The LensCoat TravelHood (Small, Black) was made for larger lenses like the Nikon 300mm f2.8 or 200-400mm f4. It would be too big to fit a 70-200mm.

Q: 3. Will it fit Sony 200-600mm?

A: No. But this 1 will. B&H # LETHZM4

Q: 4. Will the attachment straps for this fit a Gitzo 5 series tripod over existing Lenscoat LegCoat wraps (LW514M4)?

A: Yes, the attachment straps for the LensCoat LegCushion (Realtree Max4) will fit a Gitzo 5-series tripod over the existing LensCoat LegCoat Wraps 514 (Set of 3, Realtree MAX-4), B&H # LELW514M4.

Q: 5. will this fit the sony 70-200 f4?

A: This would not be a good fit. All the sizes of the LensCoat TravelHood are made for larger lenses than the Sony FE 70-200mm f/4 .

A: The LensCoat LegCushion (Realtree Max4) fits the Gitzo GT5543XLS Systematic Series 5 Carbon Fiber Tripod with the LensCoat LegCoat Wraps 518.

Q: 8. Is length of LegCushion pad on each leg really 24"? Please check again. Doesn't look that long in video.

A: Once installed the LensCoat LegCushion will measure about 10-10.5 inches down each tripod leg.

Q: 9. The LensCoat Pro feels much too large for my Canon R5 + RF 100-500mm. Would the Standard be a better fit?

A: Yes, the non pro one, LensCoat RainCoat Standard (Realtree Max4) will be a better fit than the Pro for the R5/ RF 100-500 setup.

Q: 10. Will this fit the Sigma 150-600 Contemporary?

A: Ron this fits perfectly on my Tamron lens. You might check the length of your Sigma lens. If it's the same as my Tamaron 12 in length then I would think it should fit. I'm very happy with my cover.

[Neoprene rubber] This cover was a piece of cake to put together, lay everything out and line up the sections, they all fit perfectly, great protection against scratches and helps to stop the glare off the barrel when shooting wildlife.

[Neoprene rubber] This is much better than the bubble wrap and shelving paper I was using to protect my lens while traveling. It's light-weight and form-fitting so it does not take up any extra room.

[Neoprene rubber] I find lens covers useful because they protect lenses from scratches and scrapes, plus they substitute a soft, slightly compressible surface for the hard metal or plastic that covers lenses. They also purport to provide camouflage for lenses because they can have camo-type patterns. I actually don't think animals are fooled by the camouflage, so for me a plain black lens cover is just as appealing as a woodland type.' Lenscoast covers are expensive, no doubt. If a person is handy and resourceful he or she can buy the materials and create covers on a diy basis. But I am not all that handy, so I am willing to pay the price for Lenscoat products for some of my lenses, i.e., the larger ones. The only competing products, made in the UK, are less expensive but the maker made the error of using slippery, smooth, two-sided fabric , instead of Lenscoat's practice of using material that is smooth on the outside but a bit grippy on the inside. The grippy side of Lenscoat's material prevents the cover from sliding around. It's a better design. The only issues with Lenscoat lens covers is that the cover pieces can obscure zoom millimeter scales, plus there is a need for a small cutout for a lens lock. To me, these matters are trivial when compared to the protection the covers provide. Until another company comes along and provides real competition, Lenscoat will remain the only real game in town when it comes to lens covers. Their products are very good.
