The DOD Mini Volume Pedal is intended for use with electric guitar, bass, or any instrument with a mono 1/4" TS output connection point. It regulates the volume of your overall pedal, but unlike similar pedals, provides features which recommend it to players with crowded pedalboards and a thirst for tonal preservation. For instance, the size of the pedal is roughly the same as most conventional stompboxes, so it will not take up too much real estate in your rig. The pedal also maintains your treble signal, even at low volumes, so your tone stays exactly how you set it at any volume level.

The Mini Volume Pedal utilizes a 500-kOhm potentiometer and gear drive for its throw, and therefore, does not rely upon strings, wires, or other more fragile components to facilitate its volume shifts. Non-slip rubber pads adorn the bottom of its all-metal chassis, ensuring it will not move about under your feet. The pedal is passive, so it does not require power to run.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can this be used as a conversion device with the signal coming from an XLR mic connecting to 1/8" adapter into my video camera?

A: No, the RapcoHorizon LTIBLOX Laptop BLOX 1-Channel Passive Direct Box will not work with a microphone. It is intended for use to send the 3.5mm line-level output from a computer to the XLR mic-level input on a professional A/V device like a mixer, amplifier, camera, or recorder. The XLR connector is the output, so it has a male connector and would not work to connect a microphone. A better solution for connecting an XLR microphone to the mic input on a video camera would be to use a simple adapter like the Kopul LMT100 - Low to High Impedance Matching Transformer (B&H # KOLMT100) attached to a standard XLR cable in the length you need. Please note that the mic you are using should either be a dynamic mic that does not require any voltage or a condenser mic that operates using a battery for power or has its own power supply, as the camera will not supply 48V phantom power from its 3.5mm input.

Q: 2. Hello, can I plug headphones on the H9 ? Tks... Ivan

A: There is no headphone output.

Q: 3. WILL THIS WORK WITH THE MAC VERSION OF FORTINGE?

A: Yes, it is compatible. Mac & Pc

Q: 4. Do I need two of these when correcting sound recorded in stereo mode? It's voice only from a lapel mic or from the camcorder.

A: You will need two monitors to hear the separation between left and right channels of a stereo recording. For the mono recording you are describing, one monitor will suffice.

Q: 5. What cable do I need to connect it to my laptop? It has USB A & C ports.

A: You'll need to hook them up with xlr cables to an external soundcard, like a recording interface, that can send a balanced analog signal. The inputs of of the 8010s accept analog XLR connections. An interface or mixer that has XLR or 1/4" TRS outputs will connect to these with ease

Q: 6. 1. can you use it as tv speakers? 2. can we use it to listen to the tv in another room?

A: Speakers like these are designed for PA and 70 volt installed commercial systems. They would need an amplifier to drive them and would not connect to a television. If you have additional questions please e-mail us at: askbh@bandh.com

Q: 7. Can this be installed in existing finished ceiling? If yes, does it require additional mounting hardware or does it install directly to Sheetrock?

A: It can be installed directly to sheetrock using toggle bolts or a different type of anchors.

Q: 8. why is the volume control 1/8in? this seems incredibly strange, given that the speakers and subwoofer both require XLR inputs, and are likely being fed either from the XLR output of a mixer, or the RCA output of a DAC. The speakers specifically state that they shouldn't be fed using an amplified signal, so that would rule out sources like an ipad, iphone, or computer.

A: The product is meant for convenience when monitoring straight out of a computer minijack. The volume control input and output have 3.5 mm stereo male and female connectors providing immediate connectivity with most computers and laptops, MP3 players and game stations. A converter cable converting 2 x RCA to 3.5 mm stereo (female) is needed for audio equipment with RCA outputs. A converter cable converting 3.5 mm stereo (male) to 2 x XLR (male) is needed to use 9000A Stereo Volume Control with Genelec monitor loudspeakers having XLR input. These cables can be obtained from your authorized Genelec dealer. The connecting cable on 9000A is Y-shaped. After 1 meter (3 ft 3") from the control knob the single cable splits into two 1 meter (3 ft 3") cables, one for audio input, one for audio output. Technical Specifications • Weight: 0,325 kg (0,72 lbs) • Height: 42 mm (1 5/8") • Diameter: 60 mm (2 1/8")

Q: 9. What is the GLM Network Adapter? Is it required to use the remote? Is it built into the speaker? A search didn't pull up anything. Thank you!

A: The GLM network adapter would be used for Genelec speakers without built-in networking. It is BH #GE8300601.

Q: 10. Most wall volume controls I see are for 70v speaker systems. Is this safe to use with a standard power amp and PA speakers?

A: Yes, it is safe to use.

[1.1 lb / 0.5 kg] I loved this pedal, as the construction is very solid, the material is aluminum and also aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The best part is its ergonomics since it fits your foot perfectly on it and does not slide on stage, a problem that occurs with most pedals.

[1.1 lb / 0.5 kg] I needed something for my living room and practicing while watching TV late at night without a full pedal board or multi-effects box. This along with a Boss RC-3 and a mini mixer for my wireless headphones provides everything I have in my studio at a mini level. The sounds are good enough. There are enough options in sound to play most anything. Eventually I'll try this little beast as a sub for my full pedal board and see how it works in a live jam. One pedal to do everything. It's not perfect but it is great. I wish Zoom would provide updates to it and a better manager. It's pretty old by today's standards and if Zoom provided updated files they would sell even more if these great little boxes.
B&H had the best deal available and as always they provide excellent service. Thank you B&H. I'll Be Back, lol

[1.1 lb / 0.5 kg] I honestly don't think there is a better option on the market, everything is perfect, the sound, the spects the price, THE SIZE!! , everything, The unit fits like a glove inside my gigbag and the pedal layering is so well and smart designed that you actually don't miss not having more buttons . It took me like 20 minutes or less to build my first patch and then the second day I made the whole rig setup for my live gigs, witch I took to a few days later. Everything was perfect, just some minor twiks here and there, but I felt that it's been with me for years. The MX5 will kill everything on the market in this price range, even higher. In fact because of the stereo FX send and the expression pedal, even the Gigboard is in danger. Well done Headrush, very well done.

[1.1 lb / 0.5 kg] Couldn't wait to get this pedal so I would have more personal control of the volume when playing my mandolin on stage. It works as advertised and I am very pleased with the purchase. I just have to get into the habit of using it!! I would definitely recommend this product to anyone needing a volume control pedal.

[500 kOhms] The MS-50G pedal is first class. It is every bit as clean, quiet, and well built as the Boss pedals. It is not a replacement for the Boss line. Zoom pedals have a character of their own. Personally, I like the Zoom tone. But I'm not a guitar player.

There is a great ~15 minute YouTube instructional video for the MS-50G. I got over the learning curve for writing and storing effects by watching this video, then I bought pedal.

It replaces several pieces of my high quality studio gear when I need fast results that are of high level audio quality.

Zoom delivers with this product. After I watched this video I purchased the pedal. I also like my G1X as a companion to this pedal. The G1X has a nice volume/expression pedal.

[1.1 lb / 0.5 kg] Sounds great. Compact (doesn't take up much desk space.). Easy to program. I use set-lists and scenes as a work-around for lack of snapshots. Compared to my Helix LT - much less expensive; much smaller and less heavy; BUT no snapshots; no programming with computer connection (HxEdit); takes a bit of effort to type on keyboard screen due to size. I like it.

[500 kOhms] I own a couple Ernie Ball VP Jr volume pedals, and while these pedals are superior to the Boss FV50 in terms of build quality and feel, they're heavy. I'm putting together a small pedalboard for bus and train travel and so weight is my primary concern. I picked up the FV50H for use with guitar as well as the EV-5 expression pedal. So far they're working out great.
