A handy tool for nearly any visual artist, professional, or content creator, a monopod can often travel places tripods cannot, providing additional stability and supporting heavy equipment when required. The MPMXPROC4US features a 4-section design which, when paired with its carbon fiber construction, results in an easy-to-transport design weighing just 1.3 lb. With a maximum height of 64.8" and a minimum height of just 20.5", the MPMXPROC4US can be adjusted to suit users of varying heights and for various different tasks.

While the design of a monopod is relatively simple the Manfrotto Monopod+ line utilizes some innovative features which make using the MPMXPROC4US fast and easy. The primary feature of the line is the inclusion of Manfrotto's patented Power-Lock flip locks which snap open and closed to ensure fast operation and a tight, unyielding lock. The D-shaped leg sections have been designed not only to compliment the Power-Locks but also to prevent unwanted twisting between leg sections and increase the stability of the monopod.

Additionally, the Monopod+ line also features Manfrotto's standard rubber leg warmer for an improved grip and an adjustable hand strap for extra security. A 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting thread is placed at the top of the monopod in the center of the baseplate, allowing users to either, direct mount a camera or lens, or use an articulating head if required.

A: No, the Manfrotto XPRO Fluid Base would not be compatible for use with the Manfrotto 680B Compact Monopod.

Q: 2. Is it possibly to adjust the drag setting on this? I used to own the older MVM500A which allowed me to increase the resistance. This allowed me to use less physical force to keep the camera upright i only needed to keep a couple fingers on it to keep it stable. Now this feels almost completely loose and offers little ball resistance to my FS7 (outfitted near barebones).Advice?

A: there is a slight drag setting. I have mounted my a7 on it and it balanced on its own though not sure if I would trust is as a replacement for a tripod. If your floor is not ridged or a slight wind blows it would knock over the setup. there is a tensioner for the fluidity of the angle.

A: No, a carrying bag or carrying case is not included with the purchase of the Manfrotto XPRO MPMXPROC4US Carbon Fiber Monopod with XPRO Fluid Base Kit. If you are looking for a carrying case compatible for the above setup, the Manfrotto 3279BLK (AW-3279B) 25" Tripod Bag, B&H # MA3279B, or the Ruggard Padded Tripod / Light Stand Case (27"), B&H # RUBP20272, would be compatible for your usage needs.

Q: 4. Will this work with a Gitzo monopod w/ 3/8 adapter?

A: No it will not. The male thread on this base is not long enough to reach the recessed female threads on the Gitzo monopods.

Q: 5. How is this different from the Manfrotto MVMXPROC5US Carbon Fiber XPRO Video Monopod+ and why is it $60 more expensive?

A: We could not find any significant difference between the two. It appears to be a difference known only to Manfrotto. We therefore suggest buying the cheaper one while you can.

Q: 6. What's the difference between this base and the Manfrotto MVA50A Fluid Base? I'm going to use it with my XPRO Monopod.

A: if you have an XPRO monopod, get the XPRO base. it screws in and was designed for the XPRO series. the older base attached differently. also, this base can lock perpendicular, which the older one couldn't do.

Q: 7. Is this compatible with the monopod leg of Manfrotto Element Big Travel Tripod?

A: Unfortunately, the Manfrotto XPRO Fluid Base is not compatible with the monopod leg of the Manfrotto Element Big Travel Tripod.

Q: 8. what monopods are Manfrotrto xpro fluid base compatible with? Would it work with Sirui P-326 6-Section Carbon Fiber Monopod?

A: The XPRO Pluid Base is only compatible with select Manfrotto Monopods. Those monopods are the MPMXPROA3US, MPMMXPROA4US, MPMXPROC4US, MPMXPROA5US and MPMXPROC5US. It is not compatible with Monopods from Sirui I'm afraid.

A: Sorry, Manfrotto does not list the Manfrotto XPRO Fluid Base as an accessory for this monopod.

[4] great monopod for photo and video. highly recommended to everyone and could be use as tripod with extended 3 legs. also I like that it is extended almost at 7 feet high and it is additional benefit for use in crowded area with limited spaces. 5

[Flip Lock] This is a solid monopod, with easy latches for each stage, and full height (around 6' 6") that can get your camera over just about any crowd. BE CAREFUL to pick the right maximum height for your needs. It's easy to overlook that there are options there. The folding tripod has nice, fluid panning/tilting action, and is easily removed when it's not wanted. I find it easy to change height with a single hand when necessary, and it's comfortable to hold for longer periods. Monopods, by their nature, should be simple devices that get out of your way and let you move quickly to get the shot, and don't weigh you down. This one ticks all the boxes! 5

[1.8 lb] This monopod s great but Manfrotto's registration process is impossible to complete, they won't accept B & H's receipt or purchase date. So I guess their 10 year is just must not be available to everyone! 5

[4] I prefer the solid click lock type of closure than the ones I have to twist. The first week I had my Gitzo, I twisted the bottom most section so tight that I broke the bakelite collar that is there to secure it. I find Manfrotto / Brogen supports to be very solid, very long lived products. Plus, at 6' 1" I can now raise the viewfinder all the way to my eye level w/o wrecking my back more than it already is. The XPRO "fluid base" may be up for sale soon. Honestly it does nothing but add weight to my kit. 5
