Designed with the ability to support one video head per channel, the AdderView 4 PRO Dual-Link DVI-I Video Switchfrom AdderView 4 PRO Dual-Link DVI-I Video Switchallows users to control up to four computer systems and share peripherals between them using a single display, keyboard, and mouse. Dual-Link DVI-I support enables both digital and analog display compatibility at resolutions including 2560 x 1600 for medical imaging, 2048 x 1080 for 2K film post-production, or a maximum of 2560 x 1920.

In addition to straight switching, the KVM, speakers, and two separate USB devices attached to AV4PRO-DVI units can either be switched in unison, as normal, or you can mix your peripherals between any of the systems to suit your current tasks. For example, you could be creating emails on one system, listening to a soundtrack from another, sending documents to a printer from a third, and performing a separate task with another USB peripheral on the fourth. The front panel on the AV4PRO-DVI helps make it easy to identify and control which peripherals should connect to each system. Additionally, USB True Emulation technology helps ensure the full characteristics of the connected keyboard and mouse are fully utilized on each system, including extra function keys, wheels, buttons, and controls that are commonly found on modern keyboards and mice.

The ADDERView 4 PRO Dual Link DVI-I Video & Peripheral Switch is well-suited for those working in architecture, graphic design, post-production, animation, banking, command & control, medical, and audio/visual industries. Supported operating systems include Windows, Mac, DOS, Linux, UNIX, BSD, Sun, NetWare, and more. Included is a 12.5W power adapter, a power cord, and four self-adhesive rubber feet.

The AdderView 4 PRO features full Dual Link DVI-I video, delivering resolutions at 60 Hz. As the AdderView features DVI-I, you can also use a choice of digital or analog sources. The extended DDC EDID profile helps ensure that the switched graphics card is optimized to work with your screen, and the Dual-Link DVI-I capabilities further enable users to work at resolutions including 2K (2048 x 1080) for film post-production or WQXGA (2560 x 1600) for detailed medical imaging.

The AV4PRO-DVI features Adder's USB True Emulation technology. Emulated USB provides a rapid, reliable switching action and makes keyboard-hotkey and mouse switching possible. It also allows the use of extra function keys, wheels, buttons, and controls that are commonly found on modern keyboards and mice. Users in architecture, graphic design, post-production, animation, and more often need to use specialized interface devices, such as graphics tablets, 3D explorers, joysticks, and so on. The AV4PRO-DVI makes all this possible using Adder's True Emulation technology.

Flexibility is key to the AdderView 4 PRO. The switch enables you to use the KVMA console to work on one computer whilst your USB peripherals are connected to other computers and your speakers are playing music from yet another. You can, of course, still switch all connected devices to any one of the connected computers as with any other KVM switch.

The AdderView 4 PRO can be switched using selectable keyboard hotkeys, 3-button mice, or the front panel controls. Optionally, you can also use the RC4 remote switch to make your selection. These switching options allow you to reassign connected devices to any of the connected computers.

A vast range of USB devices can be connected to the AdderView. From non-standard human interface devices to printers and scanners, this presents great flexibility. For example, you could be scanning a set of documents onto one computer whilst working on another and printing from yet another, all at the same time. The USB 2.0 switching action has been carefully engineered to ensure computer reliability when connecting and disconnecting USB devices.

An 'Options' port enables the AV4PRO-DVI to be remotely switched using simple ASCII codes. When the channel is switched, the same ASCII codes are echoed to the 'Options' port and so, by linking 'Options' ports, two or more units can be switched in synchrony. The port enables a 4-button switch unit (RC4) to be used with the AdderView PRO. The same port can also be used to upgrade the firmware.

USB Remote Wakeup feature is fully supported. Any connected computer can go into sleep mode and be awakened (when its channel is selected) as soon as you press a key or move the mouse. The computer and peripherals must support the USB Remote Wakeup feature.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this adapter allow a Mac Mini (2018) to successfully send video output to an Apple Cinema HD Display 23-inch monitor?

A: Yes, this is a universal adapter that will facilitate any mini display port output to send a signal to any DVI input device.

Q: 2. Do you see 2 independent inputs inside your software, like wirecast, Obs, Mimolive etc? Or do you have to switch the inputs from a software before it gets to the computer USB?

A: Yes. The independent inputs will be seen.

Q: 3. Do these monitors accept an outgoing SDI signal?

A: Hello WOA. I apologize for the confusion- Despite the 16:9 ratio, these units do not support SDI input or output, just Composite, VGA and DVI. Thank you!

A: We have used it with a Matrox triple head, and worked fine. I don't know if this can help to you

Q: 5. Can this display 1280x1024 ?

A: This can only support resolutions up to 800 x 480. For a monitor that supports 1280 x 1024 you would need something larger such as the Tote Vision 17 Monitor LED-1708HDR. For a 7 dual display we have the Elvid StudioVision Dual 7 Monitor Rackmount which goes up to 1280 x 800 Resolution.

[2560 x 1920] Good tools keep you focused on the job without getting in the way or causing distraction. So far the IOGear KVMP achieves this! Pros: - Switch seamlessly between Windows7 and OpenSolaris. - Hotkeys work out-of-box on both systems. - Zero USB-boot-time problems. - Have not had to fight with it once. Cons: - KVMs take Get what you pay for to an extream. - The pricetag hurts, but I wish I had bought this sooner. Previous $100 KVMs prevented these SUN Workstations from booting, requiring unplugging/replugging and magic incantations. USB controller errors were prevelant, hotkey switching *never* worked in Solaris, USB devices wouldn't be recognized in Windows. Other common glitches I did not associate with the KVMs have seemingly been resolved. Worth every dollar, hopefully it will be here for the long-haul.

[2560 x 1920] We have two of these in our office and they do exactly what we need them to do. They are not difficult to install and switching between computers is very easy. There doesn't seem to be any other product that does the same thing so it's fortunate that IOGears KVMP is an excellent product. B&H prices are even better.

[2560 x 1920] I purchased this KVM switch to switch between my two mac pros. Originally I was switching between the computers by hand every time I wanted to switch between my video/audio rigs. Removing desktops became too much to deal with and affected my productivity. Now I can run both mac pros (2 monitors-two computers-one mouse and keyboard) simultaneously! No more heavy lifting and rewiring every time I want to use an alternate computer. Why didn't I get this sooner! Easy and quick setup and all the wires needed were included. Worth every penny.

[1 RU] I work with two Kubuntu 12.04 Linux workstations continuously connected, and a Windows 7 employer's Lenovo 530 laptop that I connect every evening on returning home and disconnect every morning when heading to work (via a Lenovo docking station continuously connected). My monitors are dual Dell 3007 2560x1600 dual-link DVI, keyboard Avant Stellar (PCI connector via USB adapter), with a Microsoft wireless mouse. When using the laptop, I can use its screen in addition to the two Dells. I can switch among these seamlessly. I even have the less-used Linux workstation normally sleeping, as it wakes up properly as soon as I select it. A nice touch is that one Dual-Link DVI cable of each pair has the USB and audio cables integrated into it, keeping the wiring rat's nest manageable. The only annoyance is that, inevitably, because the external monitor configuration for the Windows 7 Lenovo 530 at the office differs, I need to reposition some windows when moving between home and office. But once I got the Windows configuration set up properly, the laptop at least automatically recognizes which monitor configuration it's connected to. (Because the DVI outputs of the Lenovo docking station are single-link, it's necessary to use its HDMI outputs and interpose Accel HDMI to Dual DVI converters between it and the MiniView.)

[3.5 lb] I have a laptop docking station (display port, dvi) and a PC (dvi, dvi) connected to the switch. the switch is then connected to one monitor via dvi, and the other via a dvi-hdmi cable. My docking station requires an adapter for the display port. I am having no issues switching between the two. The PC and laptop goes to sleep just as it did before using the switch.

One thing that is a bit odd is the monitor that is connected via the dvi-hdmi cable will randomly come on even if neither the PC or laptop is on. Not a big deal, I just turn the monitor off when I am done using it.

[2560 x 1920] I was seeking a KVM switch to replace my old one that only supported a single monitor. It took me a while to settle on this one, but I am surely glad I did. The setup of this product is VERY simple because everything comes in one box. I didn't have to worry about getting the right cables in a separate transaction and hoping everything would come in at the same time. I have found the product to do everything the description said it would. I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

[2560 x 1920] The device was very intuitive and easy to setup. It did not take very long to get both systems up and running. And it worked the first time. I would recommend it to anyone hunting for a good KVMP switch.

[2560 x 1920] This is the best KVM that I have ever owned. It works very well for two monitors. I game with it and I do not notice any video or audio degradation. Computers boot better on this kvm than any other kvm that I have owned in the past. Hotkey switching has worked perfectly after getting a wired keyboard; wireless keyboards are not supported. It is a large unit and it is under my computer table. I have never had to reach under the table to correct this kvm. I like it a lot and recommend it for anyone who wants to switch computers via two monitors. I did buy this at BH Photo and am happy.
