The AV4PRO-DP is DisplayPort 1.1 compliant (4 lanes at 2.7 Gb/s). DisplayPort can support high end monitors featuring a 2560 x 1600 resolution with a 60 Hz refresh rate and 10-bits per color, a 1920 x 1200 resolution with a 120 Hz refresh rate, and Full HD monitors at a 1920 x 1080 resolution with 60 Hz refresh rate at 12-bits per color without latency, all over standard cables.

The AV4PRO-DP features Adder's USB True Emulation technology. Emulated USB provides an instantaneous and reliable switching action and makes keyboard-hotkey and mouse switching possible. It also allows the use of extra function keys, wheels, buttons, and controls that are commonly found on modern keyboards and mice. Users in architecture, graphic design, post-production, animation, and more often need to use specialized interface devices, such as graphics tablets, 3D explorers, joysticks, and so on. The AV4PRO-DP helps make all this possible.

Flexibility is key, and this switch enables you to use the KVMA console to work on one computer whilst your USB peripherals are connected to other computers and your speakers are playing music from yet another. You can, of course, still switch all connected devices to any one of the connected computers, as with any other KVM switch.

The AV4PRO-DP can be switched using selectable keyboard hotkeys, 3-button mice, or the front-panel controls. Optionally, you can also use the RC4 remote switch to make your selection. These switching options allow you to reassign connected devices to any of the connected computers.

A vast range of USB devices can be connected to the AV4PRO-DP. From non-standard human interface devices to printers and scanners, this gives great flexibility. For example, you could be scanning a set of documents onto one computer while working on another and printing from yet another, all at the same time. The USB 2.0 switching action has been carefully engineered to help ensure maximum computer reliability when connecting and disconnecting USB devices.

An 'Options' port enables the AV4PRO-DP to be remotely switched using a 4-button switch unit (RC4). By linking 'Options' ports, two or more units can be switched in synchrony to create a multi-video head switching system. The same port can also be used to upgrade the firmware.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Are there problems using between Mac mini and desktop pc? Product info says it is cross OS compatible, but some reviews say it does not work with Mac. They could be setting up improperly, but these things also have a history of having issues detecting displays between OS X and windows.

A: I have personally used this with a Mac Mini and a Windows desktop and had Zero issues. It work perfectly just as expected

Q: 2. Please, in order to be sure for transportation (in my luggage) which are the measures to take in account? (in the Specs section are those : Packaging Info -Box Dimensions (LxWxH) 19.0 x 14.0 x 3.5" AND -Closed Size in Bag: 20 x 18 x 7.48" (51 x 46 x 19 cm) Thanks!

A: The closed size in the bag are the dimensions you would want to take into account.

Q: 3. Can this unit work any faster then 60Hz? Can it do 2560x1440@144Hz? Or are all resolutions capped at 60Hz?

A: Assuming using DP 1.2 144Hz 2K monitor(s) theoretically it should (untested) as it does support DisplayPort 1.2.

Q: 4. Do these have Hot keys that work with mac?

A: Yes it has hotkeys that work with Mac.

Q: 5. How long are the cables that come with it? It does not say that anywhere in the description.

A: The manufacturer does not specify the length of the cables, only the types.

Q: 6. Will this work with the Apple 27 display that uses the mini DisplayPort

A: The Adder ADDERView 4 PRO DisplayPort Video & Peripheral Switch B&H # ADAV4PRODPUS is supported as long as its the Cinema Display with Mini Displayport, it will not work with the Thunderbolt display. In order to use it, you will need a simple adapter: B&H # STDP2MDPMF6I https://bhpho.to/2pBlo1h

Q: 7. what is the cable lengths?

A: The cable length of this is 4'(feet).

Q: 8. will this work with Mevo? or remote cameras?

A: As a Mevo camera does not have an HDMI out, the IOGEAR UpStream Pro Video Production Switch will not directly work with a Mevo, but any remote camera that does have an HDMI out in a supported resolution (1080p 60 / UHD 4K 60), will be supported by either the 2 HD HDMI inputs or the 1 UHD 4K HDMI input.

Q: 9. Does the Rolls MM11 actually turn on and off the mic or is it a moment contact switch that you have to hold to talk?

A: The Rolls MM11 is a momentary (non-latching) switch so you need to hold it down to function. It can be set to work as either a "push to talk" or "push to mute" switch. An internal switch (accessible from the side) allows you to choose how it will function.

Q: 10. Do you have to hold the switch to talk or does it actually turn on and hold the mic in the on positon and then press again to turn off the mic?

A: That depends on how you set the switch to function. The Rolls MM11 Pro is a momentary (non-latching) switch, so you do need to hold the switch to use it, but you can decide whether you want it to function as a momentary mute or a momentary push-to-talk switch. An internal switch (accessible from the side) allows you to select "push to mute" or "push to talk." If you want a switch that you press once for "on" and press again for "off," then you need a latching switch. The Rolls MS111 Mic Switch (B&H # ROMS111) can be set to function as a latching on/off switch or as a momentary microphone mute switch, so you have the option of using it either way.

[2560 x 1920] I would recommend this to anyone with dual monitors and two pc’s. The only issue I had was that Windows 7 kept adjusting the displays when I switched between computers. It was a real annoyance to find all my windows, icons and screen resolutions messed up every time I switched. I finally after about a week of annoyances found a setting in my catalyst control center to disable display polling which fixed the problem for me.

[2560 x 1920] I have had this product for nearly 3 years - simple to set up, switches between Mac & PC with two 2560x1440 displays and logitech wireless mouse / keyboard. Super easy to use - couldn't have hoped for a more trouble-free better product.

[2560 x 1920] I have this switch set up to allow me to switch between a Retina MacBook Pro and my tower gaming PC with Nvidia GTX 1070 graphics card, and it performs the job very well. Previously I had a similar setup using an IOGear DVI+USB KVM switch between MacBook Pro and my older tower PC, with just a DVI-to-DisplayPort adapter on the video cable to the Mac. For the new setup I bought a DisplayPort-to-mini-DisplayPort cable for the Mac (could have used an adapter but the cable was $10 and it's less... lumpy... this way.) I've only been using it for a week or so, but it's working great! Comes with all cables, which seem to be solid quality, and fully bus-powered - small and light but seems well made. The older IOGear DVI+USB2 switch wasn't as expensive as this when it was new, but I guess that's the price I pay for going 4K. I did my usual research on all available DisplayPort + USB switch options before selecting this one, and I'm pretty sure I made the right choice here. If you're trying to drive a 2K or 4K monitor from two DisplayPort-equipped machines and share a mouse and keyboard between them, this is the ticket.

[2560 x 1920] I had some questions as to whether this would work with Surveillance Recorders.
Support at B&H Photo advised that it should and it does.
Saves a lot of space when you have multiple recorders or PCs.
I wouldn't have had room if I had to have 4 monitors, keyboards and mice.

[2560 x 1920] I use this on my surveillance system with 3 NVR and a workstation.
It works great, especially like the ability to share the speakers and microphone between all 4 pieces of gear.

[3.42 lb] Make sure to actually use the usb output that matches the computer your are testing your mouse+keyboard with. I had the keyboard+mouse not working like some mentioned in other comments/reviews. I contacted the support team which helped me make it work correctly. It's silly but we never know what would have with lack of coffee :) .

[2560 x 1920] Because you can enter a 1..4 number after the double hot-key, you can jump to whatever console you want. This is handy because I have 2 PCs and 2 Raspberry Pi's attached and the frequency of use is disproportionate between them.

I have to say the front buttons being metal flaps are weird, but I never use them. If you did, you might appreciate a real physical switch. I expect these are mini-PCB switches behind the cool plasma cut metal.

I also don't use the shared USB as the mouse/kbd is all I need to switch.
