Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will these casters fit on Manfrotto 032BASE Single Base for Autopole?

A: Yes, the leg of the Manfrotto 032BASE Single Base is round and 22mm in diameter. Check the Specifications tab for both products.

Q: 2. Will this fit Avenger A2033 C-Stands?

A: This 110G wheels only fit Manfrotto stands with a 22mm leg. They will not fit the legs on an Avenger A2033 C-stand.

Q: 3. Will it also fit for the Manfrotto 420B and the Manfrotto 420CSU nightstand?

A: It should fit if the tubing is 22mm and round. I've checked both the 420B and 420CSU, they both have 22mm tubing. Besides, 110 casters were under the 420B recommended accessories list.Bare in mind that the 110G has bigger wheels (100mm) than the 110 wheels (75mm). Both have brakes, but it all depends on how you use it and on what stand.Hope this helps.

Q: 4. Do I have to permanently screw the nails to the legs? Because I would like to be able to take them off after each use because I have the 1000BAC that fold up and stack.

A: You can just tighten snug enough so they don't fall off, then loosen to remove. The locking function is to prevent the wheels from rotating when in use.

Q: 5. What are the exterior dimensions of this case, please? I'm looking for a case that meets Southwest Air's requirement that H+W+L be no greater than 62 inches

A: Length including handle is 38, width is 14 including handle, and height is 9. Total 61 I measured everything twice!

Q: 6. Is this case strong enough to do frequent check in at the airport?

A: yes as long as you don't make it too heavy. keep it to 50lbs or less and should be fine

Q: 7. How well does this case stand upright on its own? Is it stable or does it wobble at all?

A: Hi Mike, It is stable standing up. That being said if you plan on traveling a lot with this case I would recommend our 3i-3613-12BE case which is a more durable case. It is also watertight and dustproof. Thank you,Will

Q: 8. What is the range of diameter these casters will fit, like 18-25mm?

A: The following unit will only fits 25mm Diameter Light Stand Legs.

Q: 9. How much does each caster plate and mounting hardware weigh? (i.e. what is the additional weight without the casters mounted?)

A: The caster plates and mounting hardware from the SKB 3SKB-CAST1 Caster Plate and Wheel Kit weigh approximately 1 pound each and the individual casters each weigh approximately 2.4 pounds.

Q: 10. Will this caster fit on a Manfrotto 1004BAC light stand?

A: The castors fit perfectly on this stand. I bought them for that stand model. There's even a small indent at bottom of each leg to take the set screw for the castor. The castors are superb: great build quality. They're a perfect addition/improvement to the Manfrotto stand that you have. I should have bought when I bought originally bought the stands. Wheeled stands are far easier to reposition. You'll be happy with this castor choice.

[Carrying case] These casters make a heavy C-stand easy to move around the studio. They are easy to install and have the ability to lock in place. Well made.

[29 x 12 x 7"] I found these to be extremely well made. They are perfect for folding tripod light stands. As you might imagine, it's so much easier to roll a stand than to carry it around, especially with the added weight of a light and modifiers.

Yes, the tripod legs have to be at the proper angle in order to have the best rolling experience. It's really not an issue. When I first installed the wheels and set the proper angle, I marked the center column just above the upper leg casting. Now, when I open the stand, I can easily set the leg angle to the perfect position. Done!

The brakes work very well, and the three-inch polymer wheels roll nicely over any flat surface, even carpeting.

Just make sure your sizing them correctly to your stand legs. These are the 25mm version, but Impact also has a set for 22mm legs. You'll save even more on those.

So, get rolling... You won't regret it.

[Carrying case] I bought a set of these a few years ago for an Impact Heavy Duty Air-cushioned light stand with a boom and heavy lamp. The wheels fit fine, but no matter how much I tightened them they eventually flopped over. I was continually having to reset and tighten them, and finally just removed them. Fortunately I did not throw them away. In a what-if moment I thought about inserting a layer double sided tape in the caster leg recess. It worked perfectly, no sliding around at all. (I realized later that I could have more easily wrapped the stand leg instead of fitting the tape strip into the caster recess.) I have since purchased two more sets for two other identical Impact stands. Rather than using double sided tape I used Scotch Interior Mount tape to cover the the face of the chrome pressure plate. (Another reviewer suggested gaffer tape which may also work, but it is not sticky on both sides.) It works just as well as my previous remedy and is a lot easier than the regular double sided tape. I don't know about other brands, but I can highly recommend these casters for the Impact Heavy Duty light stand.

[22.3 lb] I got new heavy weight light stands (very pleased with them too) but obviously, to move a Key light (for example) with weights it would be an uncomfortable task. Enter the Impact Locking casters. Problem solved! Yes, you should read about how to set up your bottom light stand legs for the wheels to be leveled but I do not consider that a problem. On the contrary, it shortens the legs footprint which can be very large at full extension. Locking mechanism worked perfectly.

[Carrying case] I've purchased wheels for all my heavy duty light stands. I find it to be the safest way move top heavy studio equipment. The wheels allow for fine adjustments to the location of lights without having to lift the base of the stand off the ground. The end result is the stands are less prone to toppling over. When choosing caster sets I always try to purchase the largest wheel diameter available. The larger the wheel diameter, the easier it is to roll over cables and imperfections in the floor. I also strongly recommend locking wheels to be sure the equipment stays exactly as you left it. In short, the investment in castors can help prevent accidents which can otherwise be quite costly when it comes to replacing expensive flashes and/or continuous lighting.

[Dolley board] Bought two sets for my Manfrotto boom stands. Casters are heavy, but solid. Manfrotto stands have a pre-drilled hole for the caster plastic tabs which have a slightly raised bump that fits in the hole to prevent the casters from twisting on the 22 mm tubing. The casters are attached with M6-1.00 metric screws with a flat-head. I replaced these with some hex screws for quicker installation & removal on location. Thumb screws would probably protrude too far and interfere with caster rotation. The 100mm (3.93) caster wheels make moving stands much easier, although they add significant height to your stands. The locking feature is nice too. Overall, great product.

[29 x 12 x 7"] These are great casters. Unfortunately, there are a couple of misleading negative reviews saying they don't work correctly. If you're having issues with the wheels spinning inward when you put weight on the stand, you're using the wrong type of stand. These are designed for traditional light stands ( B&H calls them general purpose stands ), NOT C-stands. The angle of the legs on C-stands is too steep to use these casters which is why there are casters made specifically for C-stands.
