Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can anyone recommend a hard case option for flying with the Vario 5?

A: For the Easyrig Vario 5 with Gimbal Rig Vest and 5- Extended Arm, the Pelican 1650 Case with Foam (Black) (BH #PE1650FB), would support the dimensions of the Easyrig, when disassembled. https://bhpho.to/3cM3vJT

Q: 2. Is there a carrying case for this product?

A: All Easy Rig products come with a transporter bag. Once it is in stock, we will list it In the Box.

Q: 3. Are vests interchangeable? We have male and female operators at our company with vastly different waist sizes

A: The vest that comes with the Easyrig Vario 5 Standard Cinema Flex Vest with 5" Extended Top Bar is not interchangeable.

Q: 4. I will be using the Sony FX9 and the Sony A7s3. Should I get the 5" or 9" extended arm with the Easyrig Vario 5 with STABIL G2 & Standard Gimbal Rig Vest? Small, Medium, or Large size? I am 5'7" 170 lb with 33 waist.

A: If you shoot from your shoulders, or very close to the body, stick with the standard arm. If you shoot from your shoulders, but want to have the versatility to shoot further out from your body as well. The 5" extended arm is the most popular, as it allows you to have the best of both worlds without going to the ”extreme." If you want the camera far away from your body, the 9" extended arm is mainly used for Gimbal purposes, such as a Ronin or a MöVI etc. You can not mount a Serene arm on a 9" extender. The large vest offers a waist adjustment range of 46 to 54". The medium vest offers a waist adjustment range of 33 to 47". The small vest offers a waist adjustment of 26 to 31". The standard-size Gimbal Flex Vest offers a 30 to 36" waist adjustment.

Q: 5. Does standard Arm have a sliding sled to move the string point forward and back?

A: Where the string comes out, it is fixed. To vary the string point, you use different arms.

Q: 6. Hi, I'm a Movi-Pro operator and looking for a rig to use it with, and separately for just the camera sometimes too. My question is, which is better, 5" arm extension or 9" arm extension? I've used an EasyRig 2, I believe, with no arm extention and it was a waste of time and energy having to hold it far out front.

A: 5 inches and 9 inches are not that far apart and depending on your setup, physical size and arm reach there is some overlap where either option may work for you. So to help you decide I'd look at the options like this: If you felt that the Easyrig with the standard arm was "too close" but "usable" then the 5" model will probably work for you If you felt that the standard arm was "way too close" and "completely unusable" then the 9" model is probably best.

Q: 7. Can the vest be detached and washed in a washing machine?

A: The Vest can be detached. However it is not recommended to place into a washing machine due to metal mechanical components still attached to the vest. Instead the Manufacture recommends hand washing using a brush and mild detergent. Then after that air drying the system.

Q: 8. Since the vest comes in different sizes (small, medium, large) how do I select the size of the vest?

A: Please either email or phone us so that we can get your information and choices. We can then fill your special order. Phone: 800.606.6969 or 212.444.6615 Email:provideo@a href= http://bhphotovideo.com target= _blank bhphotovideo.com./a

Q: 9. Does this item comes with a flowcine serene pre-installed?Cause its mentions on the name of the product Easyrig Vario 5 Vest with Flowcine Serene Pre-Installed B&H # EAVGRSE with the price of 6860$ and than I have the same option with the price 7069$ with the number B&H # EAVGRSEEXTso what is the difference between them if the both names are saying the flowcine serene pre-installed?

A: The more expensive package includes the Serene Extension. This extension, which works in 10mm increments, allows you to find the perfect distance the camera can be from your body. More information is here: https://bit.ly/2GKcVPP

Q: 10. What is the difference between the Gimbal Rig and Cinema 3 vests? The images and descriptions are too vague.

A: The Gimbal Rig has a modified vest has been designed with a wider front, fitting around the waist and over the hips This allows the camera operator to carry weight further away from the body.Cinema 3 is the heavy duty model for 35 mm movie cameras with weights between 15 25 kg (33 55 lbs). For further information, please visit easyrig.se.

I rented and used different version of the Easy Rig and I Think this has to be one of the better builds. It allows me to go all day handheld without the stress on my back or arms. I've done gigs all handheld without a rig and now with a rig. I have to say that I will never go back to without a rig. This support system is putting years back onto my career. It's pricey, but then what not expensive in our business. Solid build, sturdy, and well crafted. There are other rigs that are out there that less expensive. I know. I've used them. They pale in comparison to this one. So, do yourself a favor and buy once and don't settle for a cheap imitation.

If you've ever worked on a reality show you need an Easyrig. If you've ever gone hand held all day long with a camera that isn't balanced for your shoulder, you need an Easyrig. I've worked a reality show with a Panasonic HDX 900, Hytron battery, video transmitter, on board wireless, and Litepanel, handheld all day long, couldn't do it without an Easyrig. We own 3 of them. I have been the this business for over 30 years. Back in the day cameras were big and heavy. I was also a lot younger. As cameras became smaller and lighter it extended my ability to shoot. However I recently moved up to a Sony PXW-FS7 with a prime lens, mattbox, and a lot of other stuff piled on it that brought the weight up to about 24lbs. So needless to say I needed something to help support it. I looked at all kinds of under support braces and saw the Easyrigbeing demonstrated at NAB this year and thought that looks like my solution. I emailed the company in Sweeden because I was not sure which rig would be best for me. I got a response the next day. A day later I had the rig. Within 10 minutes of the UPS delivery I had it on and was testing it out. It basically comes ready to go. As advertised it completely distributes the weight throughout the rig. you can place the camera at any point around you and it will stay. There would be no way I could ever shoot hand held without this rig. It does take a little getting used to, moving around tight spaces things like that. Make no mistake, you do feel the weight, but its well distributed. Great product.

An absolut must for all heavier non-broadcast cameras such as the Sony F3. It's kind of the only solution for handheld shooting without an assistant which i use it mostly for shooting manly documentaries.
