Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the standard exposure time for this paper in strong sunlight please?

A: It really depends how strong the sun is outside. I used around 7 minutes. Try doing tests strips on smaller sheets of the cyanotype paper (do not cut the paper in direct light). Remember, the more time in the sun, the image becomes darker. Too much sun will leave you with just blue paper.

Q: 2. Does this stuff have an expiration date on the box? How long will it last in the unopened box? Thanks

A: They do not print an expiration date on the box but they do estimate it should last about 2-3 year un-opened.

Q: 3. how can i develop a cyanotype into a collage?

A: Sunprints are easy to use. And basically you expose the paper with the objects on it and then wash the paper in water. There are many youtube videos on how to do that. I suggest going on line for some of those.

Q: 4. Does Blue Sunprints Cyanotype Paper come in a 13x19 size?

A: Hi Juan,I have only ben able to find the pre-coated paper in traditional sizes - 8x10, 11x14, etc. You can however, get the liquid and coat various sizes of paper and other materials yourself. That works very well.Have fun, Keith

Q: 5. Can these be used with CP1500. If not, is there a paper with the postcard mailing info on the back?

A: Yes, the Canon KP-36IP Color Ink & Paper Set (4 x 6" Paper, 36 Sheets), B&H # CAKP36IP, is compatible with the Canon CP1500.

Q: 6. is this paper compatible with the Canon Pixma Pro 100 inkjet photo printer?

A: Instead of the Canon Double-Sided Matte Photo Paper (8.5 x 11", 50 Sheets), you might have an better experience using the Canon Double-Sided Matte Photo Paper (7 x 10", 20 Sheets) due to the Canon PIXMA PRO-100's preferred media dimensions: 4 x 6", 5 x 7", 8 x 10", and letter.

Q: 7. Can the ink for CP 910 use in Selphy CP 900?

A: Yes

Q: 8. can I use these for developing 4 x 5 film?

A: I use this kind of tray to develop sheet film frequently (like 20 sheets per week on average) and have had very good results -- much better results than using one of those cheap daylight tanks or even the old kodak tanks with the film hangers. For 4x5 film I like the 5x7 trays better. The sheets don't float around as much in the smaller trays. If you're new to sheet film developing (or any film developing), I highly recommend the Film Developing Cookbook by Anchell and Troop. Very good reference that describes tray developing technique in excellent detail.

Q: 9. As soon as you open the package, do you have to use all the paper or can it store for months?

A: You can store the paper for months, just seal it well and keep it in a cool dry place when not in use.

Q: 10. Will this work with the Selphy 1200?

A: Yes, it is hard to figure out but if you go to the Canon website and look up the 1200 printer, it lists the KP-36IP as one of the supplies. It seems they never updated the list of compatible printers for the product. I own both printers and they work with the same paper / dye transfer cartridges.

[0.4 lb] I ordered these for an assignment in a History of Photography class. They work as expected, but much patience and experimentation is required, and that's what makes them so addictive. Most consistent results were achieved in direct sunlight, but indirect sun works too. My kids LOVED making their own designs. 'Alternative' photographic processes are all the rage right now, and cyanotypes are a great way to get started.

[0.4 lb] The easiest way to make cyanotype prints. Nice quality paper. Nice packaging to protect from sunlight. A joy to use, especially when you don't want to bother and make the emulsion yourself. I used it to give a workshop and it worked beautifully.

[0.4 lb] I do! Thanks to the cyanotype paper I purchased at B&H. I am using the papers to make a visual collection of the leaves of the trees growing on my property. The papers are (1) the perfect size (2) easy to manipulate (3) small enough to take anywhere. The results using these papers for cyanotype prints were excellent. Must remember to keep papers in black plastic bag until ready for use.

[0.4 lb] This is best done on a very sunny day. The more time you leave it, the better. The dark blue one was out for 20 minutes in the afternoon sun and the lighter one was only out for 10 mins late evening. I rinsed with water then dipped in hydrogen peroxide. Great activity to do with the kids
