Dedicated to the wide-angle IRIX 15mm f/2.4 Lens Hood15mm f/2.4 Blackstone and Firefly, this spare or replacement IRIX 15mm f/2.4 Lens Hoodblocks excess light to improve visibility and reduce flare. The petal-like design provides enough coverage to block stray light from entering the lens, while keeping the hood out of the frame so as not to cause vignetting. Additionally, since the scalloped edges protrude beyond the front element of the lens, they protect it against light impact. As a bonus, a small door slides open to reveal a window at the top of the hood, allowing you to rotate an optional 95mm filter to the desired setting without removing the hood.

A: the lens is open aperture metering as stop down I believe aperture is not adjustable on this lens, I only had one for a short time before I bought the Zeiss 15mm.

A: I would think that the IRIX 15mm would be ideally suited to video, especially in industrial situations where one is often restricted in getting a wide field cover shot. This lens could turn a broom closet into a large room.

Q: 5. IS there any warranty if it is shipped overseas? (outside USA)

A: The warranty that comes with most any B&H product, including this one, is USA only. If you need international protection, please purchase a Square Trade protection plan that becomes available during your check-out.

A: Yes, this lens has electronic contacts.

Q: 7. Will this lens fit the canon reble t8i?

A: Yes, it will fit the T8i and is manual focus only.

A: I contacted IRIX with your inquiry. They replied that the compatibility of IRIX lenses with Nikon Z cameras (with FZ adapter) has been announced on their Instagram account on October 2018. They state that there are no issues with using IRIX lenses with the Nikon Z cameras using the FTZ lens mount adapter, so you should have no issues using the IRIX 15mm f/2.4 Firefly Lens for Nikon F on the Nikon Z-series Mirrorless Digital Cameras with the FTZ Lens Mount Adapter. The lens' focal length and aperture information will also be transmitted to the camera's EXIF data, along with exposure settings. That being said, do note that this is a manual focus lens, so you will still have to focus the lens manually when using the Nikon FTZ Lens Adapter.

A: Yes it does, as well as electronic aperture control.

Q: 10. Does the Blackstone Line of lenses matches with the Dragonfly line of lenses in color and contrast like the IRIX Cinema?

A: The IRIX 15mm f/2.4 Blackstone Lens for Canon EF optically is the same as the Firefly version. The difference is in the housing. The Blackstone housing is stronger and made of magnesium and aluminum.

[5 x 5 x 3"] Bought this to do wide night astro images... Haven't had a chance to use it for that yet, but in general shooting the quality is great. It can even make for some fun creative shots... I have been shooting with it on a 5DmkIII... I have not had issues with the flairs that some report. I am finding you have to have light hit at just the right angle to cause a flair and a slight recompose is all it takes to remove... 5

The second reason was all the reviews on YouTube were fantastic, everybody was praising the well construction, features and Image Quality. The first thing I did when I receive the lens was to take it to my favorite landscape site. and test it on my Nikon D750 a 24 megapixel camera. When I was inspecting the images at home, the resolution was so good, that look like I was shooting with more than 24 MP. Also very impress with the low distortion and almost none chromatic aberrations. The handling and feel is excellent. On top of all this, this are the other reasons I like this lens: 1-Front filter thread 2-Rear Gel Filter slot 3-Focus Lock 4-Weather sealed 5-Slot on the hood to easily adjust a polarizer filter. 6-Fast aperture 7-Electronic contacts comunicate with camera and get EXIF information. 8-Infinity Click 9-Low Distortion 10-Exceptional corner to corner quality 11-A Neutrino coating 12-depth of field scales to aid working with pre-focusing and hyperfocal focusing. 5

[5 x 5 x 3"] i was looking for a budget wide angle lens with little to no distortion and found this gem. there is no distortion, it is sharp, handles well, and is everything that im looking for. i highly recommend it over the Samyang or any other alternative manual focus lens. 5

[0.1 lb] I've had this lens for a while now, and it is both truly rectilinear, sharp, and comfortable in the hand. It's wide! Much more angle and you'll be photographing your feet. There are electronic contacts for Nikon cameras, and the infinity focus point could be adjusted. One suggestion I'd make with big, fast lenses, is to consider an ND4 filter so as to keep shutter speeds manageable. 5
