Q: 1. Can someone please explain or help me to understand how to read the hyperfocal scale on this lens? I have never had a problem using hyperfocal scales on any of my other lenses, but this one is quite perplexing to me, there are so many values on it.

A: If you are old school and know how to use the hyperfocal scale on manual lenses, then work as you have before. If you wish, you can also use the innovative hyperfocal indication line but really it is meant for others. That is because, ever since auto focus lenses came into use, they have mostly come without manual aperture scales since they had no place for the scales to be applied. Therefore a generation of photographers has grown up not knowing what they are for or how to use them. With Irix's hyperfocal line, the new user determines what aperture they are using, moves the focus ring to line up the aperture number on the Irix hyperfocal line with the lens focus mark. Then they look to the aperture numbers on the traditional scale to see the hyperfocal distance or the area that is in acceptable focus. To old users it is not necessary, to new users it is very helpful.

Q: 2. Is this a fisheye lenses? Thanks

A: The IRIX 11mm f/4 Firefly Lens for Canon EF is an ultra-wide-angle lens, but it's not technically a fisheye lens--it doesn't create a circular image and it has been designed to minimize some of the distortion inherent in a lens with a focal length this wide.

Q: 3. Does the Pentax 1.4x HD Converter work with the K-1 Camera? If so, does it work using FA (full-frame) lenses under the camera's full-frame mode?

A: Yes, the Pentax 1.4x HD PENTAX-DA AF Rear Converter AW for K-Mount Lenses will work with the K-1 camera, and with Pentax FA "full frame " lenses. It is important to connect the converter to the lens first, then attach the lens to the camera .

Q: 4. Hi, will this convert my MF lenses to AF lenses? I understand the older Pentax SMC-F 1.7x will allow me to AF my manual lenses? Thanks for your time and advice!

A: No it does not. Only the older Pentax-F 1.7x does that. It was designed to work with Pentax-A manual focus lenses as a transition to auto-focus. No other TC I know of does that.

Q: 5. Hello yes..I can't find much info on the IRIX 45 MM other then youtube and there is not a long of info. I've been using Sigma art 50mm and 85mm for a while. I'm in the market for a new lens. I do a lot of vblog and my camera body is Nikon d7200. Please can you provide me any info on IRIX 45mm and how will it work with my Nikon d7200. I look forward to hearing from you?

A: Irix makes very good quality lenses and are manufactured very well. This is of course a manual focus lens, so no autofocus but will marry up with your camera quite well if you are looking for a focal range of about 65mm.

Q: 6. How is the iris controlled on a Nikon F-mount camera? Is there a 'G' style control lever? Or is it purely electronically controlled?

A: The aperture is electronically controlled.

Q: 7. Can we get ND filter for this lense ?

A: Yes, But a adapters are needed. Please look into the following item. Cokin Universal X-Pro Series Filter Holder Adapter Ring https://bhpho.to/37clouY Cokin X-Pro Series Filter Holder https://bhpho.to/3C9fTLZ

Q: 8. I own a Pentax K-3 with several lenses. Two of them are Sigma's. I am planning to use this coverter on my Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG Macro. Is this a viable choice to extend my capabilities? Sharpness? Loss of stops? Thank you!

A: I use the converter with a K-3 & a Pentax 300 mm F4 lens. As everything is Pentax all the lens functions are maintained and the camera recognizes the set up as a 420 lens. The set up dropped 1.6 F stops. Images are tac sharp!

Q: 9. does this work with HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR Lens?

A: Yes! I've shot some tack-sharp daylight wild animal photos with the Pentax DA 55-300mm/1.4x Rear Converter combo. Note: Since you'll lose an f/stop with the teleconverter, the combo will work best for outdoor tele-zoom photography in favorable lighting conditions.

Q: 10. THIS SHOULD WORK WELL WITH MY NEW PENTAX SMC DA 18X270 SDM LENS F3.5-6.3 ED, CORRECT ?

A: Checked the compatibility list that came with my DA 1.4x and it does not list this lens as either compatible or Not compatible. To be sure you might want to check with Ricoh, though it does work with the 50-135 and 55-300 so I don't see why it wouldn't. You also may have to update your camera to the latest software for autofocus function.
