Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I'm getting a time code on the screen (display screen and preview/program screen) when I go live on my on air application from the sdi out connection over an sdi cable. Why is this happening and how can I remove the time code from the on air live screen.

A: The AJ-PX380 has a few SDI connections and a very robust menu. You should be able to achieve a clean SDI output with this camera. It will just be a matter of setting up the camera properly. We'd like to invite you to email us directly at provideo@bhphoto.com that way we can better guide you in setting up this camera.

Q: 2. What are the interior dimensions of the bag? My rig dimensions for the Komodo are 30cm long by 20cm high by 15cm wide.

A: The PortaBrace Semirigid Lightweight Cargo Case for RED KOMODO interior dimensions are approximately 17 x 7 x 7".

Q: 3. What exactly is the On-Air streaming capability of this camera? I have multiple Sony XDCAM models that live stream to my stations Teradek receivers in MPEG-TS mode, the function is built into the camera. Is the on-air from this Panasonic similar, or like my HPX600, which could only stream previously recorded clips.

A: No, it does not have live streaming capability. We have also provided additional information on the unit in the below link.http://bit.ly/1kCw9N7

Q: 4. I need a case to keep my Blackmagic Cinema Camera rigged with rails and matte box, for storage and car transport. Any extra items (lenses, cards, etc.) I can fit are a bonus--the main concern for me is fitting the rigged camera. The matte box is 11 wide, and the bag dimensions are listed as 8 wide. My question is, how flexible is the bag width? Since this is not a hard case, I assume there's some play here. Thanks!

A: I have a Black Magic Production Camera. It barely fits the camera and rails. Not sure you can get the box or the lens in there. Because of the quality of the bag, there's not a play or stretch to be had.

Q: 5. Does this meet Airline carry on bag dimensions?

A: Unfortunately it does not. Carry-On size tends to be 22 x 14 x 9" and this bag is well over that at 27.0 x 15.0 x 14.5".

Q: 6. Is there a way to extend the range of the SDI cables to greater than 300' when used with the CCU? Could a re-clocker be used on each side (paying attention to direction of signal) to boost the signal to achieve distances of 500'?

A: The Datavideo VP-633 3G/HD/SD-SDI Repeater is a great option to consider, B&H #DAVP633. This offers re-clocking so you can send the signal up to an additional 328 feet. You will be able to achieve the distance needed with this device and pair of SDI cables that add up to 500 feet, such as B&H Numbers DACASDI30045 and CA56HSVB200.

Q: 7. Hey Guys, Is this case airplane overhead stowable?

A: While the outer dimensions of the PortaBrace Cargo-Style Carrying Case for Panasonic HC-X20 & HC-X2 Camcorders is larger than the carry-on standard, this bag has been successfully used as a carry-on.

Q: 8. Can you advise the specific range of the lens please ?

A: This package will include the XT17x4.5 BRM 17X Fujinon Lens.

Q: 9. Is there a CCU unit available for this camera for use in a studio setting?

A: Yes there are. The AJ-PX380 is compatible with the Panasonic AG-EC4GPJ Extension Control Unit (B&H #PAAGEC4GPJ) and the AK-HRP200 Remote Operation Panel (B&H #PAAKHRP200GJ).

Q: 10. The SPECS tab says its interior dimensions is 24 long but the OVERVIEW tab says its designed for cameras up to 21.75 long. Which is it? Can you put a 23 long camera in it? Thanks

A: The interior dimensions on this unit are 24 , the reason Porta Brace recommends it for cameras that are 21.75 long is so that you can comfortably take it in and out of the case. You may be able to put a longer camera in the case, but it may not be as easy to put it and take it out, it could be a tight squeeze. The camBag 650 from camRade can hold a camera that is up to 25.6 long, it might be a better fit for you if your camera is 23 inches.

[3.55 lb] I recently invested in a Canon XA60 and wanted to ensure its protection during my outdoor shoots and travels. After much research, I opted for the Portabrace case, and I couldn't be happier!

Firstly, the fit is impeccable. The XA60 slides in effortlessly, and the case offers ample cushioning without being bulky. There's room for essential accessories, and the durable build quality is evident right from the first touch.

Overall, if you're looking for a reliable protective case for your Canon XA60, the Portabrace is worth every penny. Highly recommended!

[3.55 lb] I picked up this bag as a solution for carrying the Sony FX3 with the OEM top handle and ECM-XM1 mic affixed. It's a perfect fit. A Tenba Tools Box 6 fits snugly in the main body of the bag too, for storing extra accessories, but also supporting the mic on the camera. I'm pretty happy with this combination!

[3.55 lb] Got this bag to carry around a bunch of gear. Has lots of space, easily organized with multiple pockets and is made incredibly well. Certainly not the cheapest bag out there but I doubt you can find one of better quality.

[3.55 lb] Actually I’m using this bag with an S1H and it works great - I needed something bigger than a normal dslr camera bag and the big one I hauled around when I used my Varicam to carry all the extras that I needed - I didn’t want to breakdown/setup the S1H after every shot - so this bag gave me the opportunity to leave most of it together - It makes setup and take down easier than having to talk to a client for 20 minutes while I try and rig out my camera - leave it to portabrace - thanks - tim
