Tiffen 95mm Circular Polarizer Filters - Light rays which are reflected become polarized. Polarizing filters are used to select which light rays enter your camera lens. They can remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water or glass and also saturate colors providing better contrast. The effect can be seen through the viewfinder and changed by rotating the filter. The filter factor varies according to how the filter is rotated and its orientation to the sun.

If you're out walking on a lovely day - in the mountains or at the beach - and you want to get a fabulous shot of a cloud-filled sky or make the water seem more saturated, then a polarizer is the way to go. This filter is the best way to make the clouds stand out, increase or decrease the saturation of the ocean or increase or decrease the reflection off the water. You can also use this filter when shooting into glass or windows since it will, again, either increase or decrease reflections.

If you're shooting black and white and want to simulate a threatening storm, try throwing on a #25 Red filter. The vista will take on the appearance of an imminent, ominous storm.

Along with a UV or Skylight Filter, a polarizing filter should be a part of everyone's gear bag. It can turn a run-of-the-mill image into a stunning, creative photo by increasing color saturation.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is this compatible with Nikon D3400 18-55mm kit lens?

A: This filter will fit any lens with 77mm filter threads. Your Nikon kit lens has a 55mm filter thread, you would need to order a Tiffen 58VND and a Tiffen 5558SUR step up ring:Step Up Ringa href= https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/60499-REG/Tiffen_5558SUR_55_58mm_Step_up_Ring_Lens.html target= _blank https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/60499-REG/Tiffen_5558SUR_55_58mm_Step_up_Ring_Lens.html/a58VNDa href= https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/821124-REG/Tiffen_58VND_58mm_Variable_Neutral_Density.html target= _blank https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/821124-REG/Tiffen_58VND_58mm_Variable_Neutral_Density.html/a

Q: 2. Considering how cheap this filter is, would I be able to put this on my 24-105mm and have the quality and sharpness remain the same?

A: I believe any filter added to a lens lowers the quality but not enough to be noticeable unless you are really pixel peeking. That being said, I can detect no loss of quality with this filter. I use it on my Nikon 16-35 for landscapes without hesitation.

Q: 3. Will this filter fit my Sony full frame 50mm 1.4 Lens ?

A: You must check the diamether of this lens... And choice this filter at the right size

Q: 4. I am considering the purchase of a Sigma 150-500mm lens for a Canon 7D. Is the thread on this filter compatible to the above-mentioned lens? Thanks.JH

A: No, it would not. The Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM APO Autofocus Lens for Canon EOS uses 86mm filters, not 82mm filters. The Tiffen 86mm (Coarse Thread) Circular Polarizing Filter, B&H # TICP86C, would be the filter for your stated lens.

Q: 5. Is this filter compatible with the Canon Powershot SX60 Digital Camera?

A: This filter is not compatible with the Canon Powershot SX60. You will need the Canon Filter Adapter FA-DC67A which then accepts any 67mm filter.

Q: 6. May the Canon the 52mm filter be used on an EF-M 55-200mm lens in conjunction with an et-54B hood?

A: Yes this will fit that lens and can be used with the lens hood on.

Q: 7. Can I use it with a 52 mm kit lens? How?

A: In general, yes, but i will not recommend it. You need to buy an adapter and usually the cost of 52mm filter will be less compared to the combined of the two, and you may not be able to fit a hood and quality of the image will suffer.

Q: 8. Why does this filter turn?

A: You would turn the ring on this circular polarizer in order to correct for any glare/reflections or to deepen the color in your image.

Q: 9. Is this compatible with the Canon 25-105 lens? Does it being 58mm mean it can attach to any lens that has 58mm within its range?

A: The Canon 28-105mm lens will take a 58mm threaded filter, such as the 2188B001 Circular Polarizer. The size of 58mm refers to the size of the filter threads at the front end of a lens, so it will work with any lens that has a filter thread size of 58mm.

Q: 10. I have a canon 60D with a 18-135mm lens. Would this be the proper filter size for my lens? Thanks.

A: The Canon 18-135mm lens has a 67mm diameter. So it uses 67mm filters. Here is the 67mm equivalent:http://bhpho.to/1fXHRKv

[0.33 lb] I used this with my D3400 and the 18-55mm AF P lens, on a recent trip to the Grand Canyon. The images were fantastic, partly or mostly because of this filter. Can't wait to print these photos!

[Aluminum] This item is very well priced and works as advertised. It is fantastic for creating content with cars; it is very helpful for managing the reflections on vehicles.

[95 mm] I feel like you need the polarizing filter for Digital Photography over others, Tiffen makes a good product and i use them the most, have been since back i the early eighties. The quality of the threads makes it and easy on and off and the adjustment ring is easy to use, and you can see the difference through the view finder. My one and only gripe about this filter is you can't stack another filter as the front is not threaded not that you need to. You need a good filter at a working mans price go with this and you will be happy
