Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is there any bottom structure to the bag? For example if I put a shorter tripod in the bag and try to roll it, will it sag or is there a hard bottom to keep the tripod supported.

A: Yes, there is a frame within the bag; it should stay rigid in this scenario.

Q: 2. So this will fit the Livestream Studio HD550?

A: Yes it will. We recommend this case for the Livestream Studio HD550 Production Switcher.

Q: 3. Can this travel on airline?

A: It is too big to go in an overhead bin, but it will fit under the plane.

Q: 4. Wheels look very vulnerable, would you be comfortable repeatedly checking the bag on flights.

A: I would say that this is the result of wanting the maximum space. I would imagine Porta Brace is thinking the users want more space and that the wheels, if in the rare chance they are damaged, would be an easy fix.

Q: 5. What size flat screen will this hold? Will this hold a 60 flat screen?

A: This Monitor Case is designed for select monitors in the 20-23 range. It will not work with a 60 Flat Screen. However we do offer B&H # GA60PLCDTBBK from Gator Cases. This will hold a 60 LCD.https://bhpho.to/2ADOTV1

Q: 6. Can it be carried on airplant?

A: This case has exterior dimensions of 23.0 x 12.0 x 10.0 . Airlines may differ, but a popular airline like Jetblue's carry on regulations are 22 x 14 x 9 , which would make this bag just miss their guidelines. However you may want to check directly with the airline you'll be flying with.

Q: 7. I want to place all my gear -- including my Canon XA10 and Manfrotto MVT502AM tripod -- into one bag I can pull on wheels. I'll be shooting and interviewing by myself and don't want to lug multiple bags. Is this a suitable choice? Thanks.

A: This seems to be more than commodious for the gear you intend to carry. As a former motion picture camera assistant, I wish to caution that the all-in-one bag works only to and from location. Once on location, one bag is hard to move and it's always far away or in the way. I suggest you group the camera and the audio gear in separate bags in this big bag. This will allow you to work faster, be less awkward on set, as well as at your storage facility. It will allow you the flexibility of taking just the camera or the audio, etc, etc when taking the whole bag is a bad idea.

Q: 8. Does the Porta Brace Grip Organizer Rigid-Frame Cordura Carrying Case (Large) come with a shoulder strap? I see the loops for the strap, but not the strap itself. Also, does it come with the organizing dividers?

A: The GRIP-ORGANIZERLG is a large, lightweight rigid-framed case ideal for organizing and transporting grip gear such as tools, meters, clamps, tape, and sand bags. The rigid frame provides maximum protection and the interior divider kit and CS-B9 padded pouch (additional pouches sold separately) let you customize the organization of the case interior. The case also comes with 2 TX-STRIPs, which secure to the side of the case with strong hook and loop fastener to help hold frequently used tools in place for fast access. A comfortable, heavy-duty suede shoulder strap is included.

Q: 9. Looking for a versatile bag to help roll things out on location; would this bag hold two interfit monolights and a couple sandbags ? A collapsible c stand base? Hard to tell how much space in interior and if safe-ish for lights...

A: Yes this will hold two monolights, for the stands you will need a separate bag

Q: 10. Has anyone tried this with the Canon C100/200/300 cinema cameras? Did it work well?

A: As long as any of those cameras are laying on their sides they will fit.

[Black] Ideal for use on aircraft travel, and has many compartments and a divider kit to customize your gear. Great compact bag for Dslr bodies, lenses, LCD screens, laptop and all other smaller items. Comes with light panel for dark / low light scenarios. The wheels of course are a bonus, I am able to stack another runner bag on top of this. Porta brace is the zacuto of bags, you get what you pay for. I was looking at getting a hiker hk-2 and was swayed to this due to the extras like light, wheels and more usable compartments.

[13 lb] I originally bought a Smith-Victor rolling case (B&H # SMCW), but now wish I had bought this Porta Brace case first.

The PB wheels are wider apart, meaning the case is more stable than the SV case when rolling. The SV case tends to wobble from side to side (or even tip over) unless you're on a smooth surface. And the SV case has cheapo wheels that tend to break easily. The PB wheels are larger, more durable, and on steel axles. Much better.

One thing not immediately apparent from the product info is that the PB case, like the SV case, has a telescoping handle for pulling the case behind you. I think the PB handle is a bit better made, but they are both adequate.

Size-wise, the cases are close to identical.

I'm very pleased with the quality of this product.

[13 lb] Very well built. The handle on mine is different than the pictures on the site, instead of a wooden handle, it's got a clip on strap which works well.

[Black] I have to operate sometimes as a one man band so having a bag large enough to put audio, lighting, extension cords, a laptop, and almost everything one needs for a small to medium size shoot into one bag is a necessity so you don;t have to haul multiple bags just put everything into the WPC-20R and WHEEL it to the shoot! For those of you looking at a production case I highly recommend this case primarily for the ability to haul a lot of gear and that it's on wheels. I wish Porta Brace would have added a build in strap or handle as sometimes you can not wheel the case and will have to carry it. I have added a strap to one of the cable hooks on the case but I'm concerned that they may rip out of the bag.

[Yes] Simply the best. Enough room for all of your speed light, extra brackets, ball head, battery chargers. you name it. And it's all padded for extra protection.
