Q: 1. Hi, any idea of the FOV on an a6300?

A: The A6300 is an APS-C which crop factor is 1.5 so it would be a 15mm lens. FOV well I have the SEL1635Z, SEL1018 and Vogtlander 10mm and 12mm and it is kinda like this hold your left and right hands out beside you and look straight ahead then pull them forward till you start to see them, I call it ear to ear. First this is the widest lens ever made second it will fit a Sony Full Frame camera when you can afford it (Which is less than anyone else) even if you went A7 what $400 more than the 6300. But if want wide and want to stay Sony look at the SEL1018 with AF and IS for you 15mm for me at FF 12mm clean and sharp every time a great walk around lens for a small camera and no coma when capturing the Milky Way and a zoomer also!!!!! A 15 to 27 for a APS-C the widest you can go to date! There are some fisheyes but too much Post Processing.

Q: 2. Is it possible to purchase a replacement front lens cap, or is there a 3rd party option that fits?

A: We don't carry a stock cap, you can most likely use a 70mm push on cap, https://bhpho.to/2UME7r7

Q: 3. I have and LOVE the Zeiss Batis 18. However, I want something wider and am looking at both the 10 and 12 mm. I am admittedly spoiled by the IQ-- color and sharpness of the Batis and want something comparable. How does the IQ of this lens compare to the Batis? Thank you.

A: I don't have the Batis, but I have a lot of experience with German lenses and the 10mm Voigt is tack-sharp.

Q: 4. Is there a hard infinity stop, or this lens can focus past infinity?

A: The extreme wide lens does barely need focusing, at 5.6 everything is in focus from 2ft to infinity and you can use hyperfocal to even increase the depth of field. See photo of the lens.

Q: 5. I haven't used any ultra wide lenses before, so I might be entirely wrong. Looking at the lens front, there's a petal lens hood. If the lens hood is placed in such a way that it won't get in the way, wouldn't it be possible to maybe reduce the size of the hood and instead place a filter thread like 77mm that would be placed within the boundaries of the lens hood?

A: Putting a filter close to the front element would cause vignetting, especially with such a wide angle lens.

Q: 6. Will this Lens mount properly on my Nikon Z6 and provide Infinity Focus if I use it with either a Vello or a Novoflex Lens Adapter designed for ‘M’ Mount to Nikon Z Mount? I don’t care about any lens automation so long as I can use Aperture Priority metering and use the Nikon Z Non CPU Menu setting to assign this lens to the camera with one of these Adapters.

A: yes the lens will work fine with the adapters.

Q: 7. When will this sense arrive ?

A: Please email us at photo@a href= http://bhphoto.com target= _blank bhphoto.com/a for assistance with your inquiry.

Q: 8. Does this transmit data to the camera?

A: The electronic contacts transfer all Exif data between the camera and lens in order to permit full use of camera functions, including focus magnification, image stabilization, and lens corrections.

Q: 9. Where is this lens made?

A: I contacted Voigtlander and they confirmed that all of their lenses are manufactured in Japan by Cosina.

Q: 10. Does the lens stop down or do I have to stop it down manually before shooting ?

A: The lens will stop down automatically when you take the photo.

[-0.6 m] This eliminates the guesswork when you mount the 15mm lens onto your R4M, in which the minimum framing lines go down to 21mm. It's well made, slides easily onto the hot-shoe, and the framing lines are brighter than the camera itself offers! Well worth the investment if you're taking wide angle landscapes. No more guessing.

[Optical] This is absolutely a must-have if you shoot with a rangefinder camera, such as the Zeiss Ikon ZM's, and Leica M's. It gives you pretty much the same field of view & perspective of the Voigtlander 10mm f/5.6 ultra wide-heliar lens. It's amazingly bright and crystal clear.

[0.235 lb] Pairs magnificently with the Voigtlnder 15mm Heliar, which I had for two months before I decided to purchase this. It is extremely useful if composition is important to you. It's solid and seems well built. It's also pretty heavy for its size. Using it on a Leica makes it look a little odd and taking it off every time after switching lens is a bit much, but that's not a design flaw...

[-0.6 m] This lens was a replacement for my 12mm M-mount (using E mount adapter) which suffered from severe vignetting, purple discoloration, and chromatic aberration as it was not designed for a digital sensor. This lens still suffers from some vignetting from about 50% in and has a slow and even falloff but it's far more natural and fixable in post. Chromatic aberration is also mostly gone. Manual focus is easy. The wide lens has a huge depth of field even at f5.6 and most e-mount cameras have both manual focus assist (digital zoom) and peaking so those should be turned on. There's no Lightroom lens preset for this yet but since the lens data is stored in EXIF it should be able to pickup the right profile automatically in a future Adobe update.

[Optical] The lens is very solid, but compact and light. Manual focus works fine with focus peaking, and unless your subject is very close ( 2m) you can simply operate in the narrow region between 2m and infinity. Given f/5.6, most things in your photos will be very sharp. No chromatic aberration observed. Have not yet tried for night photography - something I am tempted to try with my a7s. Photos included are taken with my a7rii.

[0.235 lb] This lens can control distortion very good, any line almost straight, so it is very good for architecture photography. The ultra wide angle also very interesting, you can freely express your idea, specialize in narrow space and change looking view in another ways. I love this lens because it's small, light-weight and sharpness. The very important for me that it can be use 100mm ND & GND filters system without vignetting, that so useful for long exposure photography, You can save space in your bag, easier access and save lot of money when use 150mm ND filters Just one thing I not like is f/5.6 so dark for night photography

[-0.6 m] I use this with my Voigtlander 15mm lens on a Leica film camera and a Leica digital camera. It is an essential tool if you want to see what you are taking pictures of with this equipment. The viewfinder itself is very well built, made of brass with a black finish. It looks good. It presents a very clear frame that is easy to see for those of us who wear glasses. Just be careful not to loose it. I was using the 28mm version of this when It came out of the hot shoe. After retracing my steps for several blocks I found it on the pavement, somewhat scraped, but otherwise fine. (now it looks like I've been in a war or two!)

[0.235 lb] Focus is sharp. Lighting does not fall off noticeably at edges of frame. A rectilinear hyper-wide can be lots of fun. I like it very much!
