The black Raytec VARIO2 VAR2-I8-3 PoE IR Illuminator 850nm Blackfrom Raytec VARIO2 VAR2-I8-3 PoE IR Illuminator 850nm Blackuses PLATINUM Elite SMT LEDs to emit IR light up to 1988'. It provides situation-dependent lighting for video surveillance and can be fully integrated into an IP ecosystem. The VARIO2 IP enables users to create dynamic lighting systems capable of controlling illuminators individually or in groups to automatically deliver the exact amount of light where and when it is needed. It features an interchangeable lens system with Hot-spot Reduction Technology to deliver even illumination.

A: The unit I received certainly clamps strong enough to prevent rotation, however, at 24 Sq. ft. of surface area on this sail , I imagine that even a slight breeze would create a concern of tipping despite sand bags

[13.2 lb / 6 kg] Using this to light up the side yard all the way to the back fence, about 90 feet. Just like in Iluminar's youtube videos this thing throws IR light everywhere. I love that a separate camera in a opposite corner that just sees the backyard sees the massive amount of IR light that it puts out. I have this model and the IR148 both are built solid after a year later still waterproof and working fine. 5

[138 W] Added this for my License Plate Camera and it is better than expected with a focused high intensity IR light that reflects off of plates making all plates at night easily readable. See attached photos and note emitters are red and visible just hard to photograph. Also have 2 other Axton IR emitters for the front yard that replaced some cheap IR emitters. The difference in coverage, distance and even spread is night and day. 5

[Triple] I've had a few of these scattered about the property for a couple years now. Throws a lot of IR and have been flawless. Beam pattern, IR power, and photocell sensitivity are adjustable. 5

[Cat 5 cable] Well-built and surprisingly bright for a short range illuminator. My only gripe is the user manual I received, it came in every language except English. I would have preferred more technical information about optimum placement and more intelligible graphs for the various diffusers. Even so, not a big issue. A couple minutes of trial and error and you'll have the neighborhood lit up nicely. Definitely recommend. 5

[1988' / 606 m] I did quite a bit of research before making this purchase. I used NVGs and other night vision devices when I was in the U.S. Army. The Axton products are military grade and built like a tank with a lifetime warranty to boot. Plus, they provide world-class customer service. I'm very pleased with my purchase and it is worth every penny. 5

[138 W] Bought 2 after other cheaper illuminators were low-light. THey run off a 12 V 7AH battery and the beam means they illuminate objects within 50 ft or more! 5
