Create a softer, more diffuse light that is flattering to your subjects and produces beautiful catchlights through the use of a translucent Elinchrom 41" Translucent Shallow Umbrellafrom Elinchrom. These models can be used either as a standard reflective umbrella, where it provides a wider, more even spread of light; or as a shoot-through, where you get a harder, more powerful flash. Also, this umbrella is equipped with a 7mm tube that is compatible with Elinchrom's central umbrella tube location. And, it comes with a protective cover.

A: Umbrella depth are not standardized spec. Unfortunately we do not have the ability to measure it.

A: This Profoto umbrella is 33" when folded.

A: The following unit is made and designed for studio strobes. A dedicated camera strobe does not have enough power to illuminate the light shaping tool. Q: 7. Will this fit Profoto B10? The specs say the shaft is 8 mm (same as Westcott umbrella -- which does NOT fit). B10 requires a 7mm shaft. So... does this Profoto umbrella fit the Profoto B10 strobe?

A: Yes, the Profoto Shallow Translucent Umbrella (Medium, 41") will fit int the B10's umbrella port.

A: Unfortunately, this umbrella would not be rated for use with 1000 watt tungsten lights.

A: This umbrella can handle up to 500 watts of tungsten light.

[29 x 2.4 x 2.4"] I bought the translucent umbrella because I wanted a quick way to diffuse light without having to put together a cumbersome soft box. The Elinchrom 33 umbrella works great for that purpose, and it's easy to use. 5

[7 mm] I use this umbrella as the main diffuser in a one light strobist set-up. It works great, and the build quality is outstanding. The main advantage with spending a bit more on a Profoto umbrella is that it will likely still be working great ten years from now. 5

[7 mm] I mainly use this with a Translucent Diffuser for a super-portable softbox for shooting on location but I also love how if I need the extra power I can just shoot against the silver backing. I used to bring 2 pairs of umbrellas (shoot through + silver bounce) but now I'm much happier to use these instead! 5

[29 x 2.4 x 2.4"] Practical for firing through, and/or filtering the sun light. Excellent one-modifier solution for small-medium group photos where focused light control is less important than speed. Also useful in pairs, where feathering light is needed. Also good for modifying a second light to fill shadows or brighten a space). As with any umbrella, these are best used with another human and/or LOTS of sandbags when outdoors. The built-in umbrella holders on strobes like the B10x+ and the B1x are designed to let the umbrella fly out before taking down a light stand. (But they can still hit photos subjects!) If you have a good stand, you can prevent umbrellas from flying out with a touch of tape around the handle. When used in combination with an off camera speed light, I like to pair this umbrella with the Phottix Varos Flash Shoe Umbrella Holder. This umbrella is a little more expensive, but also a little more durable, than my more disposable Westcott and store-brand umbrellas. Finally note: manufactures may report umbrella measurements differently. My Westcott 2011 43 umbrella is smaller than this this 41 Profoto Medium Umbrella. This one is actually 41 from cloth tip to opposing cloth tip. Finally: the Profoto umbrella cases are pretty great. 5
