After testing, we've discovered the cameras only support a true balanced audio signal. You may use the Hosa HMP-006Y cable to connect from an audio recorder into a line balancer such as the Ebtech LLS-2 (B&H# EBLLS2), at which point the audio signal will be compatible with what the camera is expecting. You would also need two balanced 1/4 cables. With all this said and done, frankly the best audio you will get will be the audio being recorded directly into the Zoom or Tascam recorder.
