The Rycote INV-Lite 19 Boom Shockmount for Short Shotgun Micsis a discreet, low-profile shockmount which isolates short shotgun microphones (19mm in diameter) from shock and handling noises, when they are used mounted on a boompole. It is optimized for interior broadcast and film applications where boom use with full basket windshielding is not required.

Elegant, ergonomic, and well-balanced, the lightweight (at 3.9 oz) INV-Lite 19 features the company's patented cam-lever clamp with wide Lyre suspension system. Its unique design provides fast access to the microphone and ensures that the cancellation slots remain free from obstruction, improving sound quality and directionality. It also allows for full placement of a 12cm foam windshield (available separately), to protect against plosives and light boom swings.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this shock mount include a shoe adapter so that I can mount my mic on top of my DSLR?

A: Hi Daniel. Thanks for getting in touch with your question. The product is not currently supplied with a hot shoe adapter at this time: this will need to be purchased separately. Please see product information here: a href= http://mymic.rycote.com/products/hot-shoe-3_8adaptor/ target= _blank http://mymic.rycote.com/products/hot-shoe-3_8adaptor/./a

Q: 2. will this work with mkh 416 mic?

A: The INV-Lite 19 will fit the 19mm diameter of the MKH 416, but it is designed for use with short shotgun microphones like the 8060, 8050, 8040 or 8020 which are between 75 to 178mm (2.95 to 7.01") long. The MKH 416 is 249.9mm (9.84") long. For a similar style shockmount, consider the Rycote INV-7 InVision Microphone Suspension for Stand and Boompole Mounting (B&H # RYINV7) which is designed for use with shotgun mics that are 120mm (4.72") and longer or the Rycote Universal Shotgun Mount for Cameras and Boompoles (B&H # RYUSGM) which is a universal model.

Q: 3. What is the length of the cradle from its longest ends, cradle endcradle end?

A: 2.5 inches

Q: 4. which one of these Rycote shock mounts are best for Sennheiser MKH 50?

A: You can use the Rycote INV-7 InVision Microphone Suspension for Stand and Boompole Mounting (B&H # RYINV7) or Rycote InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension - Lyre Shockmount (B&H # RYINVHGMKIII) with the Sennheiser MKH 50. The MKH 50 is 150mm long and the INV-6 accommodates mics that are less than 120mm long, so the INV-6 won't work. The INV-7 is for mics that are longer than 120mm and the INV-HG is also suitable for the MKH 50.

Q: 5. what is the weight without the brass adapter?

A: Less than .25lbs.

Q: 6. Does this shock mount include a shoe adapter so that I can mount my mic on top of my DSLR?

A: The Rycote INV-Lite 19 is designed for boompole use, primarily. If you would like to mount it on a DSLR camera, you would need The Rycote Hot Shoe adaptor; B&H# RYHSA.

Q: 7. Does your current stock include the upgrade pack (i.e., Rycote Upgrade Pack for INV-Lite Shock Mount)? ... simply, plastic sleeve for metal that appear standard now on Rycotes website.

A: Yes. As an authorized Rycorte dealer we are offering the same updated products.

Q: 8. Does this shock mount include a shoe adapter so that I can mount my mic on top of my DSLR?

A: No, It just has a 3/8 thread unfortunately.

Q: 9. Will this work with a KM185 and a BBG?

A: It might be a little stiff for that short Neumann. This mount is intended for heavier/longer mic/windscreen units. I use it for a MKH-416 with super softie on the end of a boom pole. Excellent isolation. You might want to consider one of the INV series mounts from Rycote. I use the InVision INV-HG mkIII Microphone Suspension - Lyre Shockmount for the length & weight of your Neumann.

Q: 10. Would this work for the Cmit 5u?

A: Yes, the Rycote INV-Lite 21 Boom Shockmount for Short Shotgun Mics is compatible for use with the Schoeps CMIT 5U Shotgun Microphone.

[0.45 lb] Love these shock mounts. I have one for my dpa 4017b (19mm) and one for my cmit mini. (21mm) They are the best for short form mics.
I highly recommend these right angle XLR cable interlocks. Keeps everything neat and streamlined. Enjoy!

[0.45 lb] The Rycote InVision / Lyre shock mounts are by far my favorite among all the different shock mounts I have tried. Great isolation, and they are very simple and hassle-free. The INV-6 is a great choice to use with the new Schoeps CMC 141 (the MK 41 capsule with the new CMC 1 amplifier body).

[0.45 lb] I purchased this to use with my CS1e. Works great, well balanced, and durable. Lyres have worked well with both wind screens and rycote softies so far. I expect nothing less from Rycote, but it's a great product.

[0.45 lb] Bought these to use with my newly acquired Sonorous Objects SO.101 and SO.103 microphones, and they fit well. I am using a normal length XLR connector, but a shorty might fit as well.

[0.45 lb] Great fit for Audix SCX1-HC. The one I had was a bit loose. This holds the mic much better.

[0.45 lb] I use an array of CMC1 mics with Omni, wide and regular cardioid to capture multiple stereo imaging options simultaneously. I use the Grace 66 cm SpaceBar with multiple mounts on it. The stereo bar has 5/8-27 (standard US) mic mounts only. But the Rycote uses the 3/8-16 (more commonly used in EU). The brass adapter is provided (as seen in the product image), but it does raise the mounts an additional 2 cm. It would be nice if these were instead default 5/8-27 thread with an internal adapter for the 3/8-16, because then the installed height would be the same for either thread option. This is a minor gripe, but not trivial when trying to keep an inconspicuous low-profile of the mic bar.

The compliance of the mount is a perfect match for the CMC1, completely eliminating conducted noise from the stand reaching the mics (like foot-thumping on the stage when the mic-stand is on the stage - big problem with the rigid factory mounts that come with the Schoeps mics).

Given the really small bodies of the CMC1, I would not recommend using a standard XLR connector with this combination: the weight of the connector and cable will distort the mounts, and reduce the effectiveness of the shock-mount. I made custom cables using Cable Techniques low-profile right-angle XLR (BH #CACTBX3FR), and Mogami W2697 thin cable (BH# MOW2697164BK) which fits perfectly in the strain-relief on the Rycote mount. The cable capacitance is higher than standard mic cable, but for only a 20' length - it is far below the driving limit of the mics, so no worries about HF attenuation.

Be careful how you store these, as if they are stored for long periods in a deformed-position, they take a while to straighten-out again. These are the best shock-mounts I have found - I use a similar model for the Neumann KM-184 as well.
