[4.605 lb] I bought one of the last pairs of the Zeiss Conquest HD 8x56 from weeks of research. These are being replaced with the new incoming HDX series. The price on these, right below $1500, was my max budget. I wanted a pair of low light binos for hunting late into the evening or early morning. These have exceeded my expectations. From testing, I was a able to view a whipporwill bird late after sunset one evening on a tree branch about 50 yards away. To my surprise, I was able to clearly see the very fine details in the birds feathers, even noting it's eyes blinking with such clarity and perfectly balanced color/contrasting. The other test was a late evening sit across a 1/2 acre food plot surrounded by trees. Even at 45 minutes past sunset on a quarter moon clear evening, I was able to see the fine details in the tree bark 150 yards from my stand to back of food plot. I was able to sit a full 55 minutes after sunset with the assumption to recognize and identify deer to shoot (our law is legal harvest 1 hour past sunset or 1 hour before sunrise). These Zeiss Conquest 8x56 easily allow me another 10-15 minutes of dimming light ( late evening or early morning hunting), which can make a difference in hunting highly pressured bucks, in comparing to my $500 8x42 binos of another well known brand. I heavily researched other brands that were less expensive and more expensive but these seem to fit my needs as a great balance with performance and cost. These Zeiss Conquest HD 8x56 will now be a part of my permanent gear carried into the field for gun hunting.

[Center] I really enjoy these binoculars. I compared a variety of other binoculars before selecting the Kowa. I like the design and performance for the price.

[Center] Great little binoculars for the car or bush walking. Extremely light, good clear image and eye relief. A little stiff in the focus knob initially, but soon smooths out. A solid yet lighter replacement for my 25 year old Nikon Porro type 8 x 23 (now a 'monocular' with only one tube working and sadly a repair too expensive). The build quality suggests I should get many years out of these as well. Good solid belt case comes with it so no need to upgrade it.

[7 mm] Very well made, rugged, nice grip on handsome rubber, sharp & bright, light & compact with a nice balance. Compares very well to my Swarovski 10 x 42 SLC (Swarovski has a wider field of view and costs twice more but too expensive to carry it on any hike. Pentax's focus ring rotates much smoother). Compared the Pentax to Zeiss Conquest 10 x 42 and decided on Pentax. I like Pentax's carrying case but opening the of the velcro makes noise.

[7 mm] I was expecting pretty good quality at this price. Definitely not disappointed!
There aren't a whole lot of choices in the lowest power range of 4x, and this one was the lightest weight while also having a center manual focus knob and a right eye diopter adjustment. I am nearsighted with astigmatism and there is a significant difference in my glasses prescription between left and right eyes, so I need the diopter when using these without glasses.
With glasses on, however, the view was also great. Many binoculars give me a very restricted field of view when I keep my glasses on, but the restriction of these is minimal. I've seldom seen this from any binocular and I'm delighted.
Outdoors in bright daylight I did not see the slightest evidence of chromatic aberration anywhere in my field of view, with plenty of sharpness all around.
Inside the concert hall, I can view performers without trouble and I'm not having to inspect their dental work at this magnification.
These are so light that I can forget I am carrying them. Not mentioned in the blurb is the cleaning cloth, the pouch with belt loop, and the perfectly-sized neck strap. No need to buy accessories!

[11 mm] The Eschenbach Optik 8x25 Sektor compact binoculars are a hit for me and my usage. Great travel bino's, fit in the carry on pack, and small enough to be in a pocket when out and about. I do a lot of traveling and it is nice to have a pair of bino's handy. These are a great middle ground in price and optics. The size never causes you to think, should I leave these or bring them? These are very fine binoculars, and unless you are more image conscious you will love these. If you need or want a small compact bino's, you can't go wrong with these. I am very pleased.

Cheers...

[8x] I bought one of the 8x42 models and just recently the 8x56....they are wonderful instruments for the price and the Zeiss guarantee is exceptional, too. I have some more expensive Leica and Swarovski binoculars around and they are excellent, but unless you want to spend $2k more, buy a Conquest HD model, you won't be sorry.

[56 mm] I recently bought my second pair of Carson 8x42 binoculars. These are well made, have excellent clarity with their ED glass and fit my hands comfortably. The field of view is comparable to the Nikon 5's but not as good as more expensive models from Nikon or the premium brands like Swarovski that cost considerably more (2X for Nikon 7's, 8X for Swarovski) than these. However, I don't know of any brands that offer wide field of views at this price point, so that is why I call these excellent entry level binoculars. I use these for birding and for now, these are fit my needs well. The only little annoyance with these is the strap tends to work its way loose from the binoculars on occasion and I'd like to see a new design or strap material, but other than that, I give these a big thumbs up.
