A: Its folded/collapsed dimensions are 28" in length, with roughly a 8" diameter (including apex/spider). It might fit diagonally within a large check-in bag, but your results may vary based on luggage size, carrier restrictions, etc.

A: No this TIE DOWN will not work with the sachtler Ace heads

A: This product doesn't include a tripod head. You can get the same version with the head.

A: We are only aware of the Sachtler Tie-Down Knob for Ace & 75mm Heads being compatible with Sachtler brand Ace and 75mm bowl tripods. Sachtler's accessories tend to be specific to Sachtler and often are not compatible with other systems.

Q: 8. Does the new Manfrotto 2 in 1 spreader fit with these legs? Ikan does not have a telescopic spreader and the ground spreader is too much of a hassle.

A: It does not. The Manfrotto 2 in 1 Tripod Spreader, BH #MAMVASPR2N1, is only compatible with the Manfrotto 645 FTT and 635 FST series tripods.

Q: 9. it says it has an 88LB capacity, but amazon has it rated for 9LBS?

A: Hello,My manager sat on the bowl, and he weighs probably about 120 lb. Amazon is quite wrong, or may be referencing the recommended payload of a kit, which bases max load off of the head. Recommended payload is 88 lb., but it can physically exceed that, though it won't be working optimally and runs the risk of a slip or collapse.

Q: 10. What's the thread size? Wondering if this would work for a Manfrotto tripod head.

A: Hello,The thread on this lock (and on the 75mm E-Image video heads) is a metric M8-1.25 (M8 is the size, 1.25 is the pitch). I cannot speak to the threads on a Manfrotto head, though.

[75 mm] This is a great fluid head at a reasonable price. I've used Sachtler heads for a few years now and they are definitely an improvement from your standard Manfrotto heads. I highly recommend the ACE XL because it can carry a decent payload in a compact, ergonomic, and rugged form factor. I use it with the Manfrotto 535 legs and an FX6, Ninja V, and wireless transmitter on top most of the time and this handles it like a champ. 5

[0.2 lb] I've been using the Manfrotto 504HD for about 10 years or so, and it felt like it was not as responsive in terms of panning, but especially tilting. I did a lot of research and Sachtler Ace XL was the one that most of the videographers recommended at this price point. I put it on Manfrotto Carbon sticks, and man, what a difference in every aspect! Tilting and panning are silky smooth, but most of all, the WEIGHT!!! The 504HD I never realized how HEAVY it was until I started using this Sachtler. Of course, my additional Carbon sticks are super lightweight, which made it even nicer! I would highly recommend this fluid head if you want to 'upgrade' from Manfrotto fluid heads within this price range. You will not be disappointed. 5

[75 mm] Very impressed with this fluid head. My previous fluidhead was not the smoothest but the Sachtler Ace XL is very smooth with numbered resistance settings for both panning and tilting. It also has a tension setting that helps prevent your equipment from falling forward or backward when attaching them. One thing to check before purchasing. Will it fit your tripod? I have a Gitzo Tripod with a 75mm plate. This fluid head needs a 75mm bowl head adaptor. This is a drop in for Sachtler tripods. 5

[75 mm] I bought this because the tie down for my Cartoni Focus HD head was too wide to use with the Manfrotto 645 Fast legs. The knobs on the Cartoni tie-down are 71mm across at their widest point, which prevents these tripod legs from closing all the way. The widest point on this tie-down is 45mm, and it works perfectly with the Manfrotto legs and holds the 100mm ball head tightly with no play, even though it is listed as a 75mm tie down. The female thread receiver is 10mm, and it's deep so even if you have a really long screw on the bottom of your head, it should still accept it. 5
