Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does this card do 4K/60 4:4:4 capture without any degradation like converting it to 4K/60 4:2:2 to save PCIe bandwidth?

A: AJA KONA HDMI 4-Channel HDMI Capture Card for Multi-Channel HD or Dual-Channel UltraHD will work without degradation.

Q: 2. Is this card compatible with Mac OS 12 Monterey?

A: Yes. The system will adapt to Mac, ARM (M1 systems)

Q: 3. Will this card input both HDMI channels at the same time?

A: I have the Quad, which is essentially the same thing, and we use it to live-stream 4 simultaneous cameras. So, using that assumption, it'll do so very very well. Very happy with ours.

Q: 4. Are the HDMI and DB9 Ports labeled in any way? If so, what do the labels say?

A: The HDMI and DB-9 ports are not labeled. The HDMI port is the smaller of the two.

A: The livestream studio software work with black magic capture cards

Q: 8. Does this work with Laptop output capture into this card?

A: If your laptop has a PCIe x4 (PCIe 2.0) slot in it, or if you use a PCI chassis with support for a PCIe x4 (PCIe 2.0), the Magewell Pro Capture Dual HDMI Card (2 Channel), would be able to work.

Q: 9. Windows does not recognized it. Does this item need a driver?

A: The PTZCam 4-Channel HDMI PCle Capture Card (B&H# PTCAP4HDMI) will use these drivers for Microsoft Windows 7, 8, 9, and 10: https://bit.ly/3abPaou

Q: 10. I want to input 1080 and output 720 without artifacts, which looks almost as good as original SD 720x480 recording?

[0.45 lb] I'm a big fan of these capture cards. I've tried Black Magic's cheaper version of these cards and they were riddled with bugs. Their thunderbolt mini recorders were just as bad and unreliable. These cards run for sever hours a day, 5 days a week in our studio and have held up strong for the past two years. In regards to the loud fan issue using Mac products, I'm happy to say Magewell remedied this issue with the release of their 12/2019 drivers from their site. The card doesn't run at 100% fan speed anymore and is much quieter than ever. The old saying applies to this product you get what you pay for. These cards are worth the price.

[2x HDMI Female] This is a popular card for having a good line TBC for interlaced video. This is what you want for capturing old home movies, whereas more expensive cards from BlackMagic that offer analog video/s-video have issues. So it is actually a really good deal for what it offers. I might have to order a second card as a back-up.

[2x HDMI Female] I have one installed in a Sonnet Echo hooked to an M1 Mini. Works great and handles various video input formats better than a Decklink card. Looking to also add a SDI version and dump the Decklink all together. If running Mac OS older than Ventura do not use the latest drivers or you will have issues.

[0.45 lb] Plugged it in and it works for OBS Studio streaming, no drivers needed. More importantly, it is working to give a quality 1080p image from a Nikon DSLR through a 50 foot HDMI cable. (A different HDMI capture device would not give a signal for this same combination.) 50 feet is pushing the limits for HDMI, so I'm happy not to need an HDMI extender.

[2x HDMI Female] We use this card in 40+ windows 10 pro boxes. They are very stable. For backups, they run 12 hours X 5 days per week. The software [Panopto and OBS Studio] seems to run Great. The only complaint is somewhere in the mix, they sometimes lose Audio for no apparent reason. Rebooting usually fixes it.
