The Onyx 240 Bi-Color LED Camera Lightfrom Onyx 240 Bi-Color LED Camera Lighthas an output of roughly 250W at full power, yet draws only 30W. It is a bi-color light that enables you to adjust the color temperature of the fixture's output from 3200 to 5600K and features a CRI of 95 and TLCI of 96 in both Tungsten and Daylight. Power on/off, dimming, and color temperature are controlled from the back of the fixture via four buttons. A two-digit LED screen is shared for dimming and color temp, with an indicator light informing you of which characteristic you are controlling.

The fixture requires two L-series batteries, and ships with two batteries that are the equivalent of a 550 L-series battery and a dual battery charger. You can also power the fixture from an optional AC power supply that outputs 13 to 17 VDC. The built-in diffusion helps prevent the effect of multiple cast shadows that afflict some LED array-type lights. A built-in 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole, and the included cold shoe adapter enable mounting the fixture on your camera. Also included are a removable handle and removable light stand adapter, which mount via the 1/4"-20 threaded mounting hole.

On the back of the fixture are four buttons:

The M button enables switching between dimming and color temperature. An LED indicator lights up to indicate which characteristic of the fixture you are controlling. A two digit display screen indicates dimming from 10 to 99% and color temperature from 32 to 56.

The fixture has two slots for L-Series type batteries, as well as a coaxial port for power from an optional AC adapter. When powering from batteries, you must use two batteries to power the fixture, it does not work with only one battery.

A: Vivek, 12V cord (Dual Battery AC Adapter) included with the OYB240 is meant to charge the batteries, not the light itself.

A: The light is equivalent to 250W incandescent light. The design of the lights does not actually allow both daylight and Tungsten bulbs to be turned on at full power at the same time.

Q: 8. I used two lights. Nice flood spread and color WB preset. I used the two small batt at full power I got 20 minutes then I changed batteries to two 970 at fulll power Approximately one hour and 10 minutes is there a better battery solution

A: Heat is an issue for these onyx lights. I love them but I have had mine shut off after just over an hour. I now turn them off between shooting and have a much better battery time. A 970 battery can last me half a day when turned on and off and given a bit of time to cool down...

A: This light does not include diffusion, nor are we aware of a specific diffusion product for it. However it is a dimmable light, you will be able to control the amount of light it is outputting with the dimmer.

[13 to 17 VDC] This light is amazing. Two smaller Sony-style batteries let you take it anywhere. Hooks to the hotshoe of my DSLR. Control the light and its temperature. I dont know what else anyone would want. Only potential downside is that it is 10 inches across, but thats whats needed for the amount and quality of the light. 5

[30 W ] Where has this light been all my life? If you currently use an on or off camera LED light for wedding photo or video and the hot spots drive you crazy, this light will blow your mind. I use to struggle to evenly light more than one person with the TorchLED. This light has an incredibly soft even light to cover more area, but it doesn't just end there. The color accuracy is insane. No more orangish/ yellow tungsten light that you have to try and blend with daylight to prevent horrible skin tones. No more guessing the color temperature of the light. Not only is this light accurately dimmable from 0-99, you can also dial the temperature of the light to match your camera's kelvin. Everything is conveniently displayed on the back of the light. The button layout is great. By far the best LED light I've found so far. It's got all the bells and whistles. The hotshoe mount is the most well thought out I've seen (no more light flopping around on a ball head). I can't say enough about this light. Just buy it! 5

[3200 to 5600K] Bit of a problem with the battery charge at 1st, had to charge them 3 times before they were really full Once achieved super bright light that lasts for about an hour and a half on full brightness. Since bought an AC adapter 5

[Aluminum] This light is quite bright and has good color rendition. Very light weight even with batteries installed. Color temp is adjustable as is the brightness. Usable as a main light as well as a fill light. Adapters for hot shoe mount, hand held mount and light stand mount included. I very pleased with this unit. 5

[13 to 17 VDC] I do a lot of weddings and corporate interviews. I have been using some 12" led panels, but lately I have been flying a bit for jobs and the 12" panels are just a little too big to put in a compact case. These ikan Onyx 240 lights are light weight, but bright. They are very nicely diffused, so simulating a window or natural light is easily done, but you can also light up a wedding reception or event with a pair of these. Battery life is decent with the included batteries.� One note, you have to use a pair of batteries to get the unit to turn on. It won't turn on with only one battery. This is kind of annoying since my other lights will run on one battery if needed. The unit doesn't have a power supply to run of AC power, the included 12v plug is only for charging the batteries and not powerful enough to run the light off a wall outlet.� If you want light weight compact lights that have great color and power for small rooms or interviews, these are great. 5

[110°] B&H had this light on sale, so I bought a couple to try.� I'm glad I made the purchase.� The build quality is very good and the CRI / TLCI color accuracy is about the best I have seen.� This LED is light weight and compact, with amazing output.� I got two Impact light stands to go along with these.� Now� I need to find a case just the right size to carry two lights with batteries and chargers, and another case for the light stands. 5

[Aluminum] The control this unit provides in intensity and color temperature is perfect for the fill I need both inside and outside. �It site nicely on the mounting shoe of the camera as well as a regular light stand. �The batteries never went down and charging time is within reasonable limits. �Great unit for our needs. 5
