The Osprey VB-UH USB Video Bridge Capture Deviceconnects directly to your computer's USB 3.0 port, enabling you to capture uncompressed video and embedded audio from an HDMI source. This capture device is plug-and-play, with no driver installation required. It features a full-size HDMI input and a Micro-B USB 3.0 output. The VB-UH USB Video Bridge supports video resolutions up to 1080p60 and has two control modes.

In Software mode, all available frame rates and resolutions are passed to the capture software. For greater user control, the frame rate and resolution can be pre-selected in Manual mode. Compact in size and powered directly via USB, the VB-UH USB Video Bridge is compatible with Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux operating systems, and is UVC-compliant.

A: While the product is able to encode videos to the H.264 format, which is a file that a Mac will be able to read, you cannot hook it up and encode to a Mac directly. This is a Windows only product. Q: 2. Will this product be able to live stream a Canon Vixia HF R600 on a PC Windows 10?

A: Your capture device will accept signals from just about anything up to, but not including, a 3D or 4K HDMI signal so your Vixia should be fine. Your PROBLEM may be your PC which you do not identify. The PC must have a fast processor and an USB 3 port. A USB 2 port will NOT work very well if at all. My PC has two USB2 and only one USB3 so consult your manual.

Q: 3. Will this capture the date/timestamp from a camcorder?

A: Yes, if the camera is capable of outputting a date and time stamp then this will be able to capture it.

A: According to Osprey these are the stats of what it can handle: Video Modes: NTSC/PAL 720 x 480 29.97, 30/i (NTSC) 720 x 576 25/i (PAL)

Q: 8. Will this device work with Olympus E-P5 ?

A: The Olympus E-P5 does not indicate it has clean HDMI output with it's micro HDMI output. While the Vanco HDMI to USB 2.0 Video Capture Device will work you may see the cameras On Screen menus over the output of your stream.

Q: 9. I will need this to sream on YouTube. Does it work?

A: This Star Tech Capture Device includes Stream Catcher Software which you can configure to use with RTMP services like Youtube. You will be able to stream to Youtube with this product.

Q: 10. Will work on MacBook Pro?

A: Just as long as the computer has a standard USB 2.0 connection it will work. This supports Mac OS.

[0.55 lb] I convert customers analog video & audio tapes to digital files using PowerDirector. 100's of satisfied customers. Now expanding so, will order more of the device. A separate computer & capture software is needed for multiple conversions at the same time. Device is very stable, converted tapes of 4+ hrs. without a hitch & has Video Proc Amp settings, not on the fly, I just use sharpening at 88. I have purchased 4 versions of PD all see the device. [7 x 4.8 x 1.3"] Purchased to convert old Handycam video8 tapes via rca jacks to digital. Easy and provided better images than other similar converters I've tried. Recommended for vcr or tape Camcorder to digital. 5

[7 x 4.8 x 1.3"] I first purchased the StarTech Video Capture Adapter Cable, which did work but it took me several days to get digitized video that was acceptable. It also took a long time to end up with MP4 files. I had to do another conversion with an H.264 encoder which more than doubled the production time. After a chat session with StarTech I decided that the way to go was to purchase their hardware solution. It did cost about 4 times as much, but all of the heavy lifting is done in the hardware and not in software as was the case with the adapter cable product. The hardware figures out the best capture configuration for the video source, then delivers the digitized video to my computer's USB 3.0 port. The Stream Catcher software provided has a few configuration settings, but it's nothing like the complexity of the adapter cable product. And, one of the output formats available is MP4 which was not the case with the other product. The video quality seems very good. The device has a lot of additional capabilities that I don't need, but may be just what others need. Spend a few more dollars and get a really good solution to support your video capture needs. 5

[0.55 lb] This is a very good product. I have been using it for about 18 months. I did have to educate myself about how to use DirectShow with VLC. But the hardware is very good quality. Now I just need Startech to make one capable of 4K video capture. I will buy it when they do. 5

[0.55 lb] The product is good. I just had a lil problem and I can say the tech support from Startech is amazing. Thank you to DAN and DAVID, the software kept displaybg "NO SIGNAL" until we changed the USB port I was using on my PC, it's good now! Thank you guys 5
