The backpack camera case with wheels now combines the Shoot-Ready rigid frame protection of the BK-CINEMAOR backpack with the smooth-rolling, off-road wheel system. The case is made of abrasion-resistant 1000-denier Cordura material. It has a rigid, hollow-core (lightweight) plastic frame. The case interior has a Veltex lining, which is extra-soft against sensitive equipment. The copper interior color makes it easier to view equipment and accessories inside the case.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. What is the weight?

A: The Porta Brace Wheeled Tripod/Light Case weighs approximately 15lbs.

Q: 2. What are the dimensions of the side pockets?

A: The dimensions of the exterior pockets of the PortaBrace Wheeled Production Case (Midnight Black, Large) are as follows: front bottom pocket 18x10x2", front top pocket 14x10x2", right side pocket 33x10x2", left side top pocket 17x16x2", left side bottom pocket 15.5x10x2".

Q: 3. Hi could you tell me if this is large enough to carry an Inspire 1 PRO with spare batteries and controllers?

A: Unfortunately this case is too small to carry the Inspire Pro and related accessories. The HPRC INS2780W-01 Wheeled Hard Case with Foam for Inspire 1 Pro is one of the case that will fit at a cheaper price.

Q: 4. Is there any bottom structure to the bag? For example if I put a shorter tripod in the bag and try to roll it, will it sag or is there a hard bottom to keep the tripod supported.

A: Yes, there is a frame within the bag; it should stay rigid in this scenario.

Q: 5. Are any dividers provided with the bag?

A: Yes, it does come with a divider kit.

Q: 6. Are the dimensions accurate/include pocket measurements? I need a bag for my "personal item" on Southwest, has to fit within 18.5"x13.5"x8.5"

A: The specs are provided by the MFR. You should have no problem.

Q: 7. Does this include the backpack straps?

A: Yes, this will include the backpack straps.

Q: 8. Is this small enough to be a carry on bag? How much does it weigh?

A: No, The Porta Brace WPC-1OR is 11.5 inches x 12 inches x 23.5 inches. The maximum dimensions for a carry on is 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches. The bag would be a little too big for a carry on, except JetBlue, and Southwest Airlines will allow up to 24 inches. The WPC-10R weights 11.6 pounds.

Q: 9. Would this bag work for 12x12 LED panels? How many would it hold?

A: The dimensions are 29.5 x 13 x 11.5" it would not be suitable for 12x12" panels.

Q: 10. Can this travel on airline?

A: It is too big to go in an overhead bin, but it will fit under the plane.

[16.5 lb] I love this case. We use it for all of our gear for producing a portable sports show. I was able to divide the inside of the case for our purposes and it works great. Very durable and can hold a lot of heavy equipment. Wheels work great. Handles are great. I love it. It is heavy and takes a lot of space, so be prepared.

[Veltex] This bag is perfect for so many uses. We couldnt be more happy with the build quality of the bag. A must have!

[16.5 lb] I think it's most useful to think of this bag as built around the ability to carry light-to-medium light stands.
If you usually need longer stands or accessories (my Photek Softlighter doesn't fit), you're probably going to need a bigger bag (or additional ones). But if the length works for you, you'll enjoy a really well made bag with good wheels, well designed handles (soft handles AND a pull-out handle for rolling), customizable interior, and capacious side pockets that flatten. As an apartment dweller who often needs to travel to a job by taxi, this is a Goldilocks product-- just the right size.
I don't typically use this as an "all in one" bag, but one of several for different jobs. Chief uses are transporting a 2-head Einstein monolight strobe kit (with three light-to-medium stands, accessories, umbrellas, and compact Gitzo tripod; camera usually goes separately, as do any larger light modifiers), and as a main case for a video interview set-up (a Litepanels Sola 4+, bag of grip stuff, those light stands, boom pole, power and mic cords, Chimera 4x4 folding diffusion frame, gelly roll, maybe a folding flag frame). This is the kind of bag that you pack totally full and then, on your way out the door, you can still somehow fit that important item you almost forgot.
If you have a lot of space for equipment storage and/or don't need to wheel your equipment far, then some of the larger cases may make better sense. But this fills a niche, and I looked at a lot of cases in this size range and found nothing better. Value: I bought it on discount at B&H at almost half regular price. At full price, it's not cheap, but your money pays for real quality differences. If you're giving this bag a workout, it may be worth it. If it rarely leaves the house, then maybe not.

[For camcorder] Great bag, feels durable. I am actually using it for my clothes, but for when I'm traveling with gear, so it matches the other stuff. What can I say, I'm a camera fashionista

[18.8 in] This pack is built for large projects requiring cameras, lights, audio recorders, and batteries. Yep, it can handle all of these items with no problem, you need to ask yourself if your back can handle lifting all the gear at one time!

[Veltex] At the end of the day, all these type of bags are limited by how much you can lift, but this is excellent quality. Expensive (probably too expensive) at full price, but much better value on sale. I'd certainly trust it in an aircraft hold as long as it wasn't too stuffed full.

[23 in] Working in the construction industry, I am always concerned about the return on my investment for the gear I purchase, that said, I was a little leery about whether this roller could handle the rigorous video shoots i perform in the field. I am happy to report that this grip bag has surpassed all expectations, especially with the wheels. I can load my sticks for camera and lighting, a pair of LED lights, small sundries bag and a 50' power cord. The best part is I can stack my SHAPE camera bag on top to reduce trips back to the truck. Highly recommend this bag.

[16.5 lb] I originally bought a Smith-Victor rolling case (B&H # SMCW), but now wish I had bought this Porta Brace case first.

The PB wheels are wider apart, meaning the case is more stable than the SV case when rolling. The SV case tends to wobble from side to side (or even tip over) unless you're on a smooth surface. And the SV case has cheapo wheels that tend to break easily. The PB wheels are larger, more durable, and on steel axles. Much better.

One thing not immediately apparent from the product info is that the PB case, like the SV case, has a telescoping handle for pulling the case behind you. I think the PB handle is a bit better made, but they are both adequate.

Size-wise, the cases are close to identical.

I'm very pleased with the quality of this product.

[1000D Cordura] I purchased this case for a long (approximately 1 meter) refractor telescope--(Takahashi TSA120N, with the non-retractable dew shield). I added 1 inch foam padding on the bottom, put some more foam padding in the long side pockets, and voila--I have the perfect case. This thing is VERY well made and has some internal straps by which to secure the scope.
