A built-in display allows for a compact, portable rig on-site with the ability to add one or two additional LCD displays via DVI, HDMI, or DisplayPort for Multiviewer and other application access.

The Acme GO 4/4 is equipped with four HD-SDI inputs (up to two of which can be used as outputs instead) on an AJA capture card and four HDMI inputs on a Magewell capture card allowing up to eight live sources. You can also group four SDI inputs together to provide a single 4K input. Using two of the SDI ports as outputs, producers can send multiple high-resolution feeds. For example, a "dirty" version complete with overlays for broadcast, and a "clean" version for recording and reuse later. Alternatively, one output can be dedicated to connect a broadcast-grade preview monitor to supplement the GO's built-in screen.

No heavy platter-based drives here; the GO 4/4 gives you four removable SSD storage slots enabling ISO recording of all inputs when fully populated—SSD drives are available separately. When you are finished, simply unplug the drives and easily move your footage to another machine for post-production or archiving.

A pair of balanced XLR/TRS combo jack inputs allow the switcher to bring in additional audio from professional sources, on top of up to 16 channels of embedded SDI audio. These inputs are accompanied by two XLR outputs for local monitoring. There is also an unbalanced 3.5mm audio input, and you can add external USB audio interfaces to increase the total number and type of available inputs.

[300 cd/m²] I'm a bit of a newbie to video streaming, and I have been looking for software that would take in several video streams, record them, mix them to an array of windows on an output stream up to 4K to record a physics experiment. I tried a bunch of free applications, but they are limited in the number of inputs as well as output resolution. Biting the bullet, I sprang for vMix, and it's everything I need. I'm using Magwell hdmi input cards (HD and 4K), which work fine with vMix. Don't try to do several streams and 4K with an ordinary desktop. You need a dedicated nvidia video card, fast storage, at least 16GB of ram, and a fast processor (think about a workstation-class computer rather than a desktop). Video tutorials are super good. Altogether, a good experience with vMix.

[8 ms] This is not a highly professional piece of equipment, but if you are looking in this price range I highly recommend it. This is the first switcher I have used and I have found it to be quite usable. You can preview any channel, unlike the previous review states, but you cannot use more than one monitor. The only negative I have after 6 months of usage is the inability to use multiple monitors, that is all. Transitions include fades, cuts and vertical wipes. Excellent equipment for an amateur. Expertise: Amateur Problems Encountered: Inability to use multiple preview monitors

[16 GB DDR4] While it may not be the most feature rich standard res video mixer out there, it is solid and reliable. The picture that goes into it comes out the same, no loss or degradation. You can't go wrong with this piece. ...

[400:1] Coming from Avid background as a editor, since I always had my workstation custom made for better performance and price. As long as you stay within Vmix system requirement. You will have a rock solid system running like 10/40 oil. I would advise you to get the pro edition to better enjoy the Vmix call. I purchased my copy of pro edition here in B&H. Great people.

[400:1] Vmix was definitely the software I needed. I did use their 60 day free trial years ago to try it out but things came up and I no longer could afford the software. Then I had the money for Vmix pro, so I went ahead and bought it. I’m so glad I did! There are many new features in Vmix 23 that I hadn’t used and many coming in Vmix 24 that will probably be great for us using instant replay. It runs just fine on my msi gs65 with 1660ti graphics card using ndi from a birddog flex 4K with a ubiquity switch. Plus there are plenty of tutorials from Tim on the Vmix YouTube channel to help you along the way!

[22 lb / 10 kg] Forget Tricaster, Wirecast, etc., Vmix is the best for streaming Amateur Sports and especially for replays. Once you have an approved desktop or laptop and Vmix will show you what to get, you'll never regret getting Vmix.
