[0.18 lb] The EP-SL2 enables a better grip on my SL2-S. While I'm able to seamlessly access/manipulate the joystick, I do have to lift my thumb over the Thumbs Up to access/manipulate the rear dial. It's not a big deal for me but it's worth noting, considering this is a review. There's a rubber bad behind the Thumbs Up, which prevents any scratches to the camera body; and the part connected to the hotshoe doesn't scratch the hotshoe at all either. While I recommend this item, I wouldn't pay full-price for it. 5

[Shoe-Mounted] I have never use another brand of them, so this is not a comparison. If I were to compare it to something, it would be my Really Right Stuff brackets and plates; they are superb quality, and this is just as professionally produced. I must say that this is an accessories that I would never be without. It is very well made; well worth the price. It is like original equipment on my X100F. 5

[Shoe-Mounted] I've had thumbs up for other bodies in the past and enjoy how it adds to the natural ergonomic grip. The price seems a bit high for what it is, but it is a very well-built and constructed bit of metal. If the added thumb purchase prevents a drop to pavement then it's a bargain! My only real complaint is the need to carry the Allen wrench when I wish to remove for flash use on the hot shoe. I'm certain I'll inevitably forget it or have in another bag when I need it. 5

[Shoe-Mounted] I was constantly knocking my exposure off because I was touching the rear thumb wheel inadvertently. This thumb rest solved the problem. And also gave me a better grip on the camera. If like me you like to have the exposure compensation on the rear thumb wheel it might be a good add-on to think of 5

[Shoe-Mounted] Ergonomically nearly perfect, impeccable build and finish quality worthy of its price point. It makes the X100V immensely more nimble in hand during street photography. I stopped using the other brands of thumb grips for the camera I purchased. 5
