Amplify the strength of your DisplayPort signal to extend your video source up to 65 ft. over standard DP cabling. This DisplayPort signal booster lets you increase the signal strength of your DP video source using standard DisplayPort cables. You can achieve resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz, and depending on your desired resolution, the booster supports varying distances up to 65 ft. (20 m) away at 1080p 60Hz resolution. For inline installations, you can place the booster between two DisplayPort cables, up to 50 ft. in length at the video input, and up to 15 ft. in length at the video output.
Maintains Ultra HD 4K video signals
When extending DisplayPort over long distances using standard video cabling, higher resolutions can become unavailable. Using the DP signal booster ensures that you can depend on UHD resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz at up to 22 ft. (7 m). You can achieve even greater distances with lower resolution support - up to 4K at 30Hz, at up to 42 ft. (13 m), and 1080p at 60Hz at up to 65 ft. (20 m).
Easy and discreet installation
With its small form factor, the DisplayPort booster is easy to hide, for a discreet installation. It includes mounting hardware, so installing it is hassle-free. By extending your video signal using standard DP cables, the DisplayPort booster is a cost-effective alternative to more expensive extension systems that require the installation of a CAT5 or CAT6 cabling infrastructure.
Compatible with varying distances
The booster makes it easy to adjust your DisplayPort signal strength based on the distance of your cables, with equalization adjustment buttons. This means that you can adjust the amplification of your DisplayPort signal, to ensure your DisplayPort signal will be flawless even at distances up to 65 ft. (20 m). Support for varying distances makes the booster perfect for multi-device deployment across large institutions, such as boardrooms in corporate offices, classrooms in schools, or waiting rooms in hospitals, as these applications may require varied distances in different rooms.
The DPBOOST is backed by a 2-year StarTech.com warranty and free lifetime technical support.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Has anyone experienced any latency issues with this splitter?

A: Unfortunately, StarTech does not offer latency specs for the StarTech ST122HD4KU 1x2 UHD 4K HDMI Splitter.

Q: 2. I want to use a portkeys bm5 and an atem mini pro with my bmpcc 6k. both need HDMI capabilities, will this splitter allow me to accomplish what I need?

A: In theory yes this should work. This takes a single HDMI input and splits it out to two. However you are not going to be able to control the Pocket 6K from the ATEM Switcher like you would with a direct connection.

Q: 3. Does this do 4k 60 4:4:4?

A: the manufacturer has not provided the specifics on chroma sub sampling for this device

Q: 4. I am using a Nvidia GeForce P2000 4 dp output card. I need to split one output to a DP monitor and the second output to a Blackmagic ATENOLOL mini. Both The ATEN and monitor MUST receive the EDID information. Will this work?

A: The MuxLab 1x2 UHD 4K DisplayPort Splitter does not support EDID. Unfortunately it would have to be tested to see if it was functional with your requirements. B&H does have a 30 day return period that would allow you to test it with your setup.

Q: 5. Where is the best place to locate this unit. Close to the camera or close to the projector?

A: You can place it at either location and it wouldn't affect performance.

Q: 6. I am having issue with my Optoma 4K projector, losing video signal over 35 feet HDMI cable. Do you think this product will solve my issue ? Is this returnable if not work as expected ?

A: This product should take care of he issue. You may also need to upgrade your cable. The Startech product is returnable within 30 days of purchase:If you are dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return it to B&H within 30 days of the purchase date, subject to the conditions and exclusions below.a href= https://www.bhphotovideo.com/find/HelpCenter/ReturnExchange.jsp target= _blank https://www.bhphotovideo.com/find/HelpCenter/ReturnExchange.jsp/a

Q: 7. Would this work for a camera, specifically the Dvx200?

A: Yes, It would work with many camera models if you need to split the output. Please note that the StarTech ST122HD4KU 1x2 UHD 4K HDMI Splitter does require power and comes with a included usb power supply.

Q: 8. Can this product split 4096 x 2160, or is it limited to 3840x2160?

A: The MuxLab 1x2 UHD 4K DisplayPort Splitter does not support DCI 4k resolutions. The highest resolution supported is UHD 3840 x 2160p60.

Q: 9. This will duplicate a 4k@60 stream to two monitors at the same time, correct? Every other splitter I can find is an MST hub and can't do this.

A: According to MuxLab this splitter will duplicate identical DisplayPort 1.2a content from one DisplayPort connector to two monitors. DisplayPort 1.2a supports 3840 x 2160 pixels at 60Hz. This should send two 4K streams to both monitors.

Q: 10. I need to send the same DisplayPort signal from a PC to both a monitor and a Kramer presentation switcher. The switcher only accepts HDMI, so I will have to have a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter between this device and the switcher. Will this configuration work?

A: Yes this configuration should work.

[6.6 in] This product does what is it supposed to do.  But that is not the most important factor of my review.  When our state’s governor said our Mennonite community could not meet in our sanctuary because of the exponential increase in COVID-19, I was asked to put together live streaming for our worship the next Sunday.  Of course our church had never done anything similar and my previous experience
was hooking up a home DVD player.  I needed to order a number of items, get them shipped and received, and set them up in the sanctuary before Sunday.

In the midst of a pandemic in NYC and NJ I knew B&H would do their best to get the items shipped. We made the Sunday deadline and the response from the community was gratifying.

Thanks, B&H.

[6.6 in] PURCHASED SEVERAL TO EXTEND. OVER 2 YEARS THEY STILL HOLD VERY GOOD

[2.5 in] This little inexpensive HDMI amplifier block was inserted into a line from a consumer camera going to the video switcher in our church. The specs said that the input side should not exceed 80-feet or so. We knew we had exceeded that by about 10-feet and had been warned that the output signal from a consumer-grade camera was not as robust as that from a Blu-Ray player or cable box. There was fear that this unit would not clean up the red sparkles in the picture on black objects we suffered from. But when the booster was inserted in place of a cable coupler close to the switcher input selector the picture jumped to correct color rendering. We are completely satisfied with the product and probably will order another to hold for future use. It performs better than the advertised specs in a tough situation.

[66 ft] This does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I have a 4K Ben Q monitor and a 2015 MacBook Pro that I have running in another room because of fan noise in my studio. I have an optical thunderbolt cable but couldn’t get 4K 60hz at the tail end of my Thunderbolt Daisy chain. No cable would allow me to get 4K at 60hz at the distance I needed. The longest cable run I could do was 6ft or so and that was unreliable. I got a very short DP cable run directly into the repeater and then I ran a 25ft display port cable outside the room and tacked it to the wall. Works perfectly. Make sure you have the shortest possible cable running directly to this box from the source. This is a great solution and doesn’t require you to spend $350+ on optical cabling that dies after a couple years because the lasers and sensors overheat.

[FCC, RoHS] I am using a 50ft HDMI extension: source-50ft cord-booster-8ft cord. At first no signal would come though. When I added the booster, the signal worked but would drop intermittently. So I added the power adapter and everything works fine.

[0.95 lb] A while back I bought a KVM for my various systems and several Raspberry PIs. The HDMI didn't work for the PIs. I thought it was a problem with the KVM. I saw online that someone suggested boosting the HDMI signal, so I bought this. I plugged it in between the monitor and KVM and it did the trick. All my PIs now have HDMI. I didn't need the 5v power supply.

[4 rubber feet] This small thing saved me time and energy while attempting to extend my video live capture... It works great and furnish auto-power to aliment itself when both ends of the HDMI in and out are connected. At first I was wondering how to pull an extended cord of outlet to charge it... and I found out it was not even needed! And Video streaming are clear and great! That little thing device is of great value and worth...

But... I just purchased it, so will see how long will it last

[External] I needed this booster to use a 27" Eizo display 10 meters from a TouchBar MacBook Pro. I used a 1.80m Startech USB-C to Display Port cable from the MBP to the booster, and a 10m DP to DP cable from the booster to the screen. Turned all on, and everything worked fine. Not all the cables and booster I tried before worked. This one does.

[2.29 oz] Was having issues with my signal dropping in and out. I could not display 1080 at all until I installed this device. Now I get 1080P signal to the TV in the garage. It is roughly 125 ft.from the cable HDMI splitter and works great.

[External] Been having this for 3 years non stop, and been working GREAT. Never had to even use the DC connector , cause both Hdmi bring in enough power to power on the device and boost connectivity. Video output crystal clear.

I think today Bought 4 or 5 units.
Will definitely recommend
