The Datavideo KMU-100 UHD 4K Multicamera Unit is a 4K production solution that delivers multiple virtual Full HD 1080p60 scaled camera angles. The output of a single UHD 4K camera is connected to the KMU-100, which can display up to four 16:9 user-defined cropped windows that are then sent out as four separate HD signals through HD-SDI. These user-defined windows can be scaled to zoom in on a subject that you would like to highlight on the 4K signal.

An additional 4K camera can be connected to allow up to eight defined outputs from the two 4K signals. As an option, the Datavideo RMC-185, RMC-185+, or RMC-180 camera controller can be added to easily pan, tilt, and zoom to create the user-defined windows on the 4K signal. You can set these shots up in advance and save them as presets, or use in real time. The unit is suitable for use in live events, places of worship, and broadcast applications.

Q: 1. To what extent is weather resistant?

A: The Panasonic HC-WXF1 UHD 4K Camcorder with Twin & Multicamera Capture is not weather-resistant. I recommend using the PortaBrace QSM-U Rain Slicker, B&H # POQSMU, if you want to use the Panasonic HC-WXF1 in the rain.

A: Yes, the Panasonic HC-WXF1 UHD 4K Camcorder with Twin & Multicamera Capture features a time lapse function.

Q: 3. Can the external mic be left plugged in with the screen shut?

A: Yes. As long as the Electronic Viewfinder is pulled out to indicate the camcorder is on, you will have access to record video and audio while the LCD is closed.

Q: 4. Can this camcorder be connected with an external mic?

A: they show a optional mike ( model # vw-vms10pp) I haven't used one on mine but it is listed as a optional accessorie

Q: 5. Can this camera be controlled via LANC wired remote control or similar?

A: Very unlikely, none of the previous models could as far as I know and that's a pro feature that would probably only be implemented on higher end models.

Q: 6. Does it outputs a clean HDMI?

A: Yes. This camcorder will output a clean HDMI signal.

Q: 7. do 4K cameras give you the choice of shooting in HD or 4K??

A: Yes, you have the following options to record:* 4K MP4,* MP4: 1080p 50mbps, 1080p 28mbps, or 720p,* AVCHD: 1080/60i (PH, HA, HG, or HE) or 1080/60p,* 24p: 2160/24p (i.e., 4K/24p) and 1080/24p.

Q: 8. Will the time/date stamp appear on the recording?

A: It will not. This camera does not offer a date and time stamp.

Q: 9. How do you make it take the full 26 MP images? I've heard that this actually only takes 7 MP images.

A: Not using a Class 10 rated SD card with the Panasonic HC-WXF1 UHD 4K Camcorder with Twin & Multicamera Capture can result in lower resolution images being captured.

Q: 10. how to display external mic audio meters on the LCD?

A: When connecting an external microphone, audio levels will automatically appear on your LCD screen menu for monitoring.

[12 VDC, 5 A] I've been searching for the right 4K camera for quite some time. Having worked for JVC, I've seen some amazing technology. After comparing similar models, I couldn't pass up the WXF1. The twin-camera looking back at you is an ingenious idea. It's so true that we normally can't capture what's going on behind the camera. My 6 year old son is always in the frame and now I can be too! The build quality is sturdy and should allow for years of use. I have larger hands and I think the fit is good, though if someone has larger hands they may opt for an external mount/stabilizer. The audio microphone is good enough. I got an external mic. The difference is black and white. I have the lowcut filter off, AGC on and the decibel gain down to -24. The sound is now about par with studio quality. The stabilization takes a little getting used to. It tends to lag behind with rapid movement, which is standard as the system is an internal stabilization. Stabilization is very smooth in tripod-controlled movements however. The video itself is crisp and the high frame rate is excellent. I will say that the top shoe access door is a bit flimsy and I don't trust it would stay attached with constant in-and-out of a bag if that door is open and an accessory is mounted. The 62mm lens up front accepts a wide variety of hoods. Just know that some of those hoods will actually stick out below the base of the camera so it may rub on some accessory mounts/handles if you choose to go that route. Night visions is fantastic though it fades easily when the camera is zoomed in. Menus and touchscreen is easy to use. I like that it turns on the moment you open the LCD monitor or pull out the viewfinder and turns off when they're closed. Battery life is decent at 90 minutes with a full charge and better if using the viewfinder. The smartphone app is very useful. There is a little latency but it's not disruptive. Additionally, it comes with a three year warranty. Woot!

[11.05 lb] I bought my first H6D-100c new back in 2018. The whole photography experience was simply superb. It puts so much joy into photography with images quality that I feel was even better than the Phase one (for reference, I had the opportunity to shoot with the IQ4-150) Since then DJI took over and produced the X series, and I shot with them all too, but IQ and user experience was definitely less with the X series so I bought a second H6D-100c. They may no longer be for sale new, keep your eye on the used sales! If you are passionate about photography, image quality and printing your work, then the H6D-100c is the camera that nothing has come close to since 2017.

[11.05 lb] The Datavido HDR-80 is a compact video recorder for up to four SDI 1080p60 camera feeds at once. It records to a pair of SSD carts, in a tag-team (serial) fashion. You can hot-swap a filled drive for continuous operation. Setup is straight forward, with a touch screen. Recordings are in Apple ProRes422, including standard, HQ, LT, and Proxie compression. It can also record one channel of 4K60, via HDMI or SDI. As a real plus, the HDR-80 writes file headers continually, so that you lose only a few seconds of video if the power fails.

[11.05 lb] As far as studio cameras go, this camera is in a totally different league. Picture quality is outstanding.

That is what it is designed for, and that is what it does better than other cameras I have used - from picture quality and ease of handling.
I have (and have used) Leaf backs for Hasselblad-V and Leaf Afi (Rolleiflex HY6) cameras and Hasselblad H4d-60. I have not used the current generation Phase One cameras and backs so I cannot compare it to them.

I generally use it in live view composing and focusing looking through the back. Pretty much the way I shot studio work back in the 60's with 4x5 and 8x10.

I wish the LCD on the back titled (although you can always tether it for viewing and capturing - I generally don't bother).

Live view goes thru batteries quickly, so have 3 or 4 and keep one on the charger. For long sessions I use the AC power supply from the H4D-60.

I have used almost all of their lenses and have no complaints.
(I did have an iris problem on a 100mm lens I originally bought used, and it required a whole shutter replacement -$1800, but it is now basically a new lens).

The autofocus is slow and deliberate - it is not suited for action shooting unless your focus point is in the center of the frame. I use it with the focus assigned to a back button so I can focus and compose separately. In the studio I generally use live view and focus manually.

It is NOT a camera that can do anything (why would you want to use this for video?) - but it does take pictures of a quality that is stunning.

(I bough mine used from a landscape photographer who was moving on to other things).

[12 VDC, 5 A] Use the side camera more than I expected. Catching extra shots of people standing around that I wouldn't be capturing & finding that the corners of main picture doesn't have much that I care about anyway. B&H salespeople super helpful. Got sharp close ups of people's faces half way across a large college auditorium. Manual ring really smooth. I-MAC sees files seamlessly & automatically as folders. 190 just under an hr with view screen open so strongly consider 380 battery. Video detail is amazing on large 4K shot using the Intelligent Auto setting- just like being there - looks like true colors. Note, works w the SLR Spider Black Widow holster. Read PDF manual thoroughly - there were features I would not have known about.

[11.05 lb] Works with DVD players, unlike most monitors. Pretty good monitor but the sun hood is really cheap, stick-on velcro doesn't bond well to the plastic hood.

[11.05 lb] I was looking for lightweight 4K camcorders with good optics to complement my bulkier Canon XA-50s which are excellent, but a little too bulky for certain overhead mounting applications. These fit the bill perfectly and the quality is excellent. I especially like the ability to plug the USB charging cords directly into large power bricks for long shoots - something the Canons can't do.
