Experience the control and satisfaction of developing film using the inversion agitation method with the large Jobo 1500S LAB Kit L Starter Film Developing Kitfrom JOBO. Manual rotation processing is made possible with the elegant roller base included in this set. Simply load your film (in complete darkness) onto the adjustable, plastic reels and insert the reels into the light-sealed, daylight tank. The thermometer is suitable for both black and white and color processing. 20 and 260mL graduated cylinders are used for measuring chemistry, which is then stored until needed in the two, 1000mL scaled storage bottles. The JOBO Cascade Film Washer offers maximum efficiency coupled with a minimum of water usage. After processing, you can hang your film to dry with the four, film drying clips. More than one clip is provided so one may be used for hanging, and another as a weight to promote flat, curl-free drying.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I develop 4x5 film in this? Or at least buy 4x5 reel to fit in this tank?

A: This won't work for 4x5. A 2500 series tank and reels are required.

Q: 2. Reel is included??

A: there should be one reel included in the package.

Q: 3. Can i fly the kit? If i purchase this in NYC, i want to take this with me to Mexico. Does anyone know if i can carry this?

A: The Paterson Film Processing Starter Kit can be shipped. But as carry on you need to contact the air line you are flying with to ask them.

Q: 4. I see everyone using the changing bag and basically doing this blind. What I wonder is can you just do it in lets say a closet with a safety bulb, kind of like a make shift dark room?

A: If you have access to a light tight space, you may load your film there instead of using a changing bag. Unfortunately, loading your film to a tank must been done in complete darkness, changing bag or light-tight room otherwise.

Q: 5. Does the tank unit and hose system work to replace and wash film as the Doran AQUA/VAC washer does?

A: Yes.

Q: 6. Can this kit be used to process Arista B&w film or does it have to be ilford brand?

A: Yes, the Paterson Film Processing Starter Kit can be used with Arista B+W film and many others.

Q: 7. How many reels does this come with?

A: The Jobo 1500S LAB Kit L Starter Film Developing Kit with Roller Base (Large) comes with 2 reels that can be used for both 35mm and 120 film.

Q: 8. With this kit does one need to also purchase/use an enlarger?

A: Yes, an enlarger is separate, click the link below to view your options; https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?q=enlarger&sort=PRICE_LOW_TO_HIGH&filters=fct_category%3Aenlargers_546

Q: 9. I'm not quite understanding what is in the description, so one kit processes 8 rolls of film? Also, it's just one chemical? How?

A: You can use the CineStill Film JOBO MONO Film Processing Kit for all your rolls. However, the CineStill Film DF96 Monobath for Black & White Film (Liquid, 530mL) that is included in the kit can process only up to 8 rolls. Yes, the DF96 Monobath is only one chemical that will process black and white film.

Q: 10. This looks so perfect! I miss processing my own film and doing my own printing. It's been about 40 years (YIKES) since I've been in a darkroom but I've been yearning to get back to this. I'm going to hint to my kids that this would make an excellent gift.... Question: Is there a similar kit for color C-41 home development?

A: We have chemical kits for color C-41 processing but not with the hardware. This is some links for the chemical kits, https://bhpho.to/3CtVznp https://bhpho.to/3cqzueT https://bhpho.to/30A1r1g

[3.25 lb] Ordered the set as separate items would have cost a lot more. Quick shipping as always. The only problem is a good/bad thing. This surprisingly came with the Jobo developer (liquid) and fixer (powder). The fixer wasn't sealed in a great way and left a bit of a residue on a few items. Luckily everything was washable and I saved to the fixer for a future project. Not sure if you can blame it on B&H because that portion came in the Catlabs box.

[12 x 8.5 x 8.2"] I use XTOL as a single use B+W developer, if I want to develop a single roll of 35mm this tank is the one I use to conserve developer and consistency. Filling a two reel tank with one reel loaded and half the amount of developer doesn't produce consistent results with inversion agitation, as the developer does not stay in contact with the film during inversion.

[Plastic] Nice and simple system for those returning to photography. Straightforward instructions and very quick processing time. I got great negatives on my first try! The affordability of this kit helped convince me to give photography another go.

[12 x 8.5 x 8.2"] I've processed four rolls of film using this kit and it gets easier every time. The reel is easy to load once you get a feel for it and the lid snaps on tightly and evenly.
I've used the constant agitation method all four times and have run into zero issues. Add a changing bag, canister opener, scissors, and film clips and this is everything you need to get started.

[Plastic] Film loads very well, recess makes using the
reel to load unnecessary thus reducing the chance of cross knocking. Canister is light and water tight. A little confused why anyone expects chemistry to be included.....

[12 x 8.5 x 8.2"] With film and film developing prices skyrocketing recently I have decided to resume film developing by myself to save some $$$. As my old rear has been lost in action after a few changes of my living places, I needed a good kit that will let me have a quick start. After a number of film processed with it I can say that it was a right choice - it simply works. It's actually much better than my old tank I had years ago - much easier to load, both 135 and 120 film. You need only to cut the beginning of the film straight and it goes into the reel nice and smooth. If I would have to find something to complain is perhaps that I was expecting the tank walls will be thicker to give more solid feeling of it as a whole. Perhaps include also a changing bag in the kit, which is the only other element you need to start film developing right after taking the kit out af the box.

[12 x 8.5 x 8.2"] I sold my darkroom fifteen years ago but got the itch to resucitate my film gear a few months ago during the pandemic. Jobo always produced the best darkroom accessories available at any cost. Their modular tanks are very well designed and the spirals easy to load, thermometer is precise enough for B&W --not so much for color, tho- the graduates perfect for all kind of developers, even HC-100 syrup, and the washing hose is a breeze to use in the kitchen sink. The only extra you will need is a lightproof changing bag to load the tank. If you kept a film camera (I hung to all my Leica, Nikon and Toyo field stuff) this is a good time to relight the flame.
