When you attach a tripod quick release plate to the camera base, you can no longer open the battery access door, which houses the memory card slot as well. The problem is that the small body of this camera has the location of the tripod mount screw thread too close to the battery access door. Therefore, memory card and battery changes require full disassembly of any camera rig gear. This problem makes using the Panasonic G7 undesirable for video production where accessories are typically added to the camera, like a microphone mixer, wireless and wired microphones, audio recorders, cage brackets and other stuff. You will not have a functional tricked out video rig when you can't get fast access to the memory card or battery. Still photography with a tripod is a serious problem with these cameras as well.

A: The "field of view" of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ2500 Digital Camera is 24 to 480mm. There are "wide angle" lens adapters one can mount onto the 67mm camera's threading to give one an extremely wide angle of view. The "image quality", when using these "wide angle" adapters, depends on the quality of the glass in each adapter.

A: It took me 3 hours active filming to drain the battery. Also depends on zoom usage.

A: I returned the first FZ2500 camera that I purchased due to a problem with the lens and focus issues. I am experiencing a different focus issue with the replacement camera. It will also be going back. When it focuses, the pictures are great. But it is highly unpredictable. At this time, I am not aware of any firmware updates to resolve the focus issues with the FZ2500.

A: Interesting. I can tell you like Lumix. We do too. We upgraded from the FZ200 and before that ZS20 and several others. The wide angle lens is wonderful. We are not professionals but like Lumix as they are relative easy to use from one to another. We found the FZ2500 does far more than any other Lumix. The one we purchased ran out of battery life within 30 min. The same thing happened when we put in a new battery. We sent it in for repair to the manufacturer and it was replaced within a week. We have not had a chance to see if the new one solves this problem and I kinda think it will. For your answer your question call the people at B&H.
