[C-Mount] Just good all around for low-light portraits.

[C-Mount] A fantastic portrait lens suitable also for astrophotography thanks to the 1.4 max aperture. Sharpness is very good at every aperture; it is a bit soft at f/1.4, but at f/4 it is very sharp and still has great bokeh. Focusing ring is very precise and comfortable, you will get use very quickly with manual focus. The minimum focus distance is 1 m (or 3.3') so the lens is not suitable for close-ups. A bit heavy but very well built. It works also on the new full frame Pentax K1. I absolutely reccomend this lens.

[-0.82% (y=8.0)] This isn't a perfect lens, but it's practically unbeatable for the price. I've had it for over a year now so I have a good idea of what works and what doesn't for me, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons, especially at the value. The elephant in the room is that it is entirely manual, so there will be a bit of a learning curve if you aren't used to that, but Fuji's focus peaking makes focusing a breeze. A lens like this is definitely geared towards portraits, and it does a great job at that. It isn't the sharpest lens in the world, but it's dang good, and it works well with post-sharpening filters. It adds a significant amount of weight to my X-T2, but with a battery grip it balances out quite nicely. It definitely has issues with CA in harsh light, but it's not a dealbreaker by any means. Stopping down to f/2 sharpens the images up quite a bit, but they look quite nice wide open. All of the included images have had some amount of post-processing, but they still represent what this lens is capable of quite well. If you need a fast portrait shooter and don't want to go all the way to the Fuji 90mm f/2, this is your next best bet!

[f/1.4 to f/16] Tack sharp even wide open. Good contrast. Paired with magic lantern and live view focus peaking, it's super easy to use. The bokeh is top notch. Blows the canon 1.4 and nifty out of the water. Heavy solid build quality.

[0.45 lb] The mount is so snug there is virtually no radial or axial movement.
The build quality to me is as good as any lens in my bag. The focus ring is smooth and precise again with no loose play.
All exposure modes function great as does the focus indicator in my D750.
The only issue I had was not the lens but the lens cap, if you have the hood attached it is difficult to grip and squeeze the release tabs from the inside. I fixed that issue on my own by scratching grooves on the inside grip.
Great portrait lens and any stationary subjects at an unbelievable price.

[C-Mount] I was looking for a little longer lens for night photography. This one was so inexpensive I decided to try it. It's too long for big pano Milky Way shots but for night cityscape, blue hour and day landscape shots it's superb. I found the infinity focus, taped it with gaffers tape and rarely use it for anything else. Very sharp, great color.

[-0.82% (y=8.0)] The product exceeded my expectations with its quality and sharpness. After using my 50mm f/1.4 I figured it was time to get a true portrait lens and I wanted one with a shallow focus as well. So I searched and found this perfect fit. I enjoy it and love my results. It is very sharp with very minimal chromatic aberration. There is also hardly any flare, which is nice at times but not always a positive thing with certain art styles. I would definitely recommend having this Manual focus lens as part of your portrait lenses. Excellent purchase.

[f/1.4 to f/16] I use this for just about every photo I take. It is extremely sharp in quality in the center and around the edges.

[C-Mount] For Micro Four Thirds cameras, you cannot beat the value of this lens for the price. There are no other native format lenses in this focal length. This lens is part of my collection of manual focus fast prime lenses. I have owned used legacy manual lenses (e.g., Canon, Nikon) that needed an adapter, and fast lenses ( f/2) get to be expensive. This Samyang (same as Rokinon) gives you at least one more stop, and sharp across the frame even wide open at f/1.4. I also had a 4/3 version of this lens that I sold because of the expense of the adapter. I like that this lens is all in one with no need for an adapter. Because this lens is made in many versions for different mounts, this MFT version is a bit on the long side, but that is the trade off for not needing an adapter. Another advantage on MFT is that this lens was designed to cover full frame, which, on MFT, provides improved sharpness at the edges for brighter apertures. This lens is well made - mostly metal and glass. The quality of the front cap and hood have been improved compared to the earlier one I owned. It is on the big and heavy side, but not much bigger or heavier than my other quality manual focus MFT Voigtlander lenses. This is the trade off for precision fast manual lenses. The controls (focus and aperture) are precise and easy to use. I noticed on this lens, just like the earlier one I owned, that the alignment of the eight aperture blades at smaller apertures is not all that symmetrical, but it does not appear to affect photos.
