This Benro TSL08AN00 Slim Aluminum Tripod Ball Headfrom Benro TSL08AN00 Slim Aluminum Tripod Ball Headsupports up to 8.8 lb and includes an Arca-type ball head with quick release plate. Designed to conserve space during storage and transport, the tripod measures 20.1" long and 3.2" wide when folded. Its 4-section legs each feature an independent spread, a 3-position angle lock, half-turn twist locks for rapid deployment, and a rubber foot to enhance stability on a wide variety of surfaces. Together, the three legs can be extended and spread to raise the tripod from a minimum height of 15.7" to a maximum height of 48.4" or 57.6" with its push-and-pull, rapid center column fully raised.

Cameras, lenses, or sport optics that are compatible with a 1/4"-20 mount can be connected to the included quick release plate. The quick release plate can be attached or removed from the integrated, Arca-type clamp located at the top of the head's ball-and-socket joint by tightening or loosening the clamp's knurled, locking knob. While the top of the quick release plate features a rubberized, non-slip platform, dual retaining screws are provided along its underside. Those retaining screws help prevent the quick release plate and an attached camera from accidentally sliding off when the clamp it is placed on is opened.

By loosening the ball head's primary locking knob, the head's ball-and-socket joint can be quickly swiveled, angled, fully tilted, or returned to its upright position. Additionally, the primary locking knob controls the ability to pan the head 360°. For added versatility, the tripod's center column is reversible, facilitating low-angle photography where an attached camera is positioned among the tripod's legs instead of above them.

A nylon, drawstring bag is provided for storage and transport.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is the folded length of 20.1" including the ballhead or does the ball head add more height?

A: The folded length factors in the ball head.

Q: 2. Can you shoot down for flat lay photography or do you need an arm?

A: The tripod does not have a column that goes horizontal. The center column is reversible, facilitating low-angle photography where an attached camera is positioned among the tripod's legs instead of above them. If the object is large you will need to use a tripod arm. This is a link for some of them, https://bhpho.to/3nabqRy

Q: 3. Is the a light weight gimbal head that I can use with this tripod? I use a micro four thirds set up.

A: The Benro TSL08CN00 Slim Carbon-Fiber Tripod with Ball Head only supports 8.8 pounds so it would not be recommended for use with a gimbal head.

Q: 4. How does this compare to a fluid head?

A: A friend of mine asked if this is a fluid head tripod and I honestly didn't know what to say, not knowing for sure whether it is or not. He and I both agreed that it is pretty darn smooth for an inexpensive tripod.

Q: 5. Will this work with a Cannon rebel t6?

A: Yes it will. This tripod will work very well with the Canon Rebel T6.

Q: 6. Is there a short center column available for this tripod? Thanks!

A: There is a center column that you can bring up and lock into place - its probably about 8-12 inches if my memory serves correctly - were very happy with this product - it was recommended to us by a friend who is a professional photographer

Q: 7. Its mentioned for mirror less cameras? Can i use it for my canon 700d

A: Absolutely, I use it with my Nikon d750 and a 3.5lb Lens with no stability issues

Q: 8. I have a Peak Design Capture plate on my camera. Is this tripod compatible with that plate?

A: Yes! :) Both Peak Design and this tripod use the arca-swiss system.

Q: 9. Can you remove the center column?

A: The column on the Benro TSL08CN00 Slim Carbon-Fiber Tripod with Ball Head can be removed and turned upside down for low angle shooting if you remove the column completely there is no place for the tripod head to attach.

Q: 10. I'm looking to change ball heads, any idea what size I need?

A: Depends on what your setup. It uses a standard 3/8 thread for the head mount so it can accept any standard tripod head. Just know that the legs can only handle so much weight and a bigger head means more bulk. The one it comes with is pretty capable. It has worked with my 70-200/2.8 on a 5D2 when I needed it in a pinch.

[3 Positions] This Benro is one of the least expensive carbon-fiber tripods I've encountered, and the best of those I'd seen at the price level. It is light, strong, stable, and tall enough. The head is simple - no bells and whistles - but useable. The leg locks reliable (so far). And it seems it can comfortably bear the weight for which it is rated. If you want carbon-fiber at a low price, take a look. It's not quite my Gitzo, but at $800 cheaper, it's pretty good.

[3 Positions] I bought this on the recommendation of Youtuber Joe Edelman. very light, yet sturdy for travel tripod. Benro makes an aluminum version of this for less money. Easy to carry. Ball head is small, but very smooth. I have used this in my makeshift studio with my crop sensor Canon DSLR and a fairly heavy old medium telephoto lens and got good results, but I just know it would be very easy for this setup to tip over - recommend using the weight hook on the bottom of the center tube. With everything extended fully, it is tall enough to be about eye level for me and I am 5' 10", but usually I will not use it fully extended. The center tube can be turned upside down to get the camera very close to the ground. Comes with a usable nylon fabric carrying case. I've seen a lot of tripods in this price range that just felt like junk - this feels like quality! Twist locks are easy to use, feel good.

[2.95 lb] I've only had this tripod a short time but it does everything I want. It adjusts quickly to uneven terrain and expands and collapses easily.

[Yes] Only have used it once! But it is so much better then the one I had. Great leg adjustments and it is sturdy. Does not break the bank.

[Ball Head] I'm glad I was able to get a quality carbon fiber tripod at this price point. This is my first (and hopefully last) tripod. It's taller than competing tripods, but the slim design allows it slide deeper into a backpack sleeve. It still fits into my carry on luggage easily.

The Benro has good height, the legs don't flex when pressure applied and its lightweight. The tripod is very stable, even with orientating my camera vertically in 10 mph winds (a7iii with 18-105mm lens).

My only gripe is the tension lever on the ball head could be less sensitive. There's an overly fine line in the tension between holding the camera up and letting the camera drop. Because of this, I am used to holding the body/lens every time I make adjustments. Although, I think this is probably good practice anyway.

[3 Positions] For somebody like me who travels light this tripod is great. Checks all the boxes if you want something stable, versatile, and compact. I use it with a lightweight Fuji mirror less camera but I'm confident it would support my DSLR with a heavier lens.
