Featuring two independent charge bays, the Core SWX HyperCore Prime 2-Battery Kit Fleet Charger V-Mountis capable of simultaneously charging two batteries at 3A each. This means that two 98Wh batteries can be charged in approximately 2 hours. The on-board LCD display screen allows you to easily monitor your battery's smart battery data without needing to connect to a computer. The micro-USB connector allows for firmware updates and for connection to a PC.

The built-in Battery Management Test mode allows the charger to determine battery health and recharge performance. Activating the SafeFly mode forces the charger to discharge or charge connected batteries to a 30% charge level to meet air travel and shipping requirements. While plugged into an AC power source the Fleet Micro 3A Dual Charger can either charge batteries or be used as a camera power supply via the built-in 4-pin XLR. In the absence of AC power, you can use the charger to feed the 4-pin XLR from connected batteries providing unregulated power. The housing is made of aluminum, providing for a robust build.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the battery capacity degrade twice as fast because there are two batteries?

A: The battery will not degrade twice as fast. The system is designed so you can split apart the batteries for air travel, the two separate units will not go above the maximum Watt Hours allowed for a Lithium Ion Battery when split.

Q: 2. Can you charge this battery with the PB-70C charger?

A: No, you cannot charge any CORE SWX Prime batteries with the PB-70C charger. The Prime is a two part battery and this charger cannot charge the second half. If you were to attempt to do so, the battery would no longer work and would need to be sent back to CORE SWX to be flashed and repaired.

Q: 3. Does it communicate battery info to a Red camera?

A: Manufacturer states that it will communicate battery info when using advanced d-tap output.

Q: 4. Can these take a charge via the P-tap?

A: According to the The V-plate adapter manual there's no pass through to charge via P-TAP. I'm guessing this would be the same. You'd have to call the manufacturer to confirm.

Q: 5. Will these work with generic V-Mount cameras that aren’t RED?

A: These batteries use a different protocol for communication with RED cameras. You still may be able to use them with other V-Mount products, they just may not communicate over information properly. It would be a better idea to use the standard V-mount kit for non-RED products, BH #COGPX2SHC9MB. https://bhpho.to/2Kzavc7

Q: 6. 2 questions: 1) is the 3A charge current for each channel? 2) does this prioritize charge or 3A per channel constant?

A: The Core SWX Fleet D Gold Mount 2-Bay Charger (B&H# COFLEETD2A) supplies each battery a regulated 3A of charge current regardless of the number of batteries present. If two 98Wh batteries are installed, for example, then you can therefore expect a charge time of approximately 2.5 hours, although that does vary according to temperature and variances in battery chemistry.

Q: 7. How much power can the 5V USB port deliver (in Watts or Amps)?

A: Core SWX does not list how many amps this battery outputs for the USB connection. However their Nano-U98 has a 5V USB as well which they list as 3 Amps. We believe the USB on this will offers a similar strength of power.

Q: 8. Can this battery legally travel airborne?

A: You will want to check with your airline directly as restrictions on batteries frequently change. At this time you can travel with batteries that are above 100 Wh, you may just need to first get approval from the airline.

Q: 9. Can the Fleet-D2A charge all of Anton Bauer batteries or is limited t only lithium-ion Core SWX brands?

A: This should be able to charge any Gold Mount Battery by any brand.

Q: 10. Can this battery be used while separated? I know the half with the screen has no V-mount connection, but can the other half act as a slimmer standalone 95wh battery?

A: While you could do so in an emergency, it is not recommended for continuous use. The two halves are designed to work in concert and remain in balance. If you discharge one half, recharging will take longer so the balance can be restored.
