Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I got the dual person. It came with two XS Wireless packs. They both had the same frequency. How to chance one to a different frequency?

A: Changing frequency on the Sennheiser XSW 1 DUAL 2-Person Wireless Omni Lavalier Microphone System Kit can be initiated on the EM-XSW 1 Dual-Channel Stationary Receiver. First, press the Up/Down button on the specific receiver module you would like to change and select "Scan". Press the "Set" button next to activate this function, where the receiver will select an open channel. Next, power on your correlating transmitter and press the "Sync" button until the receiver's display flashes "SYNC". Finally, press the "Sync" button on the receiver to transfer the selected frequency to the transmitter. This process is described in further detail on page 11 of the system manual linked here: https://bhpho.to/3qHYANh

Q: 2. Could i use 2 of these sets and plug them in the Sony FX3 handle without them causing interference?

A: Yes, up to five Sennheiser XSW-D VOCAL SET Digital Wireless Plug-On Microphone Systems with Handheld Mic can be used at one time in the same environment.

Q: 3. Could the Sennheiser CL 100 work also as an adapter?

A: Most likely the wiring scheme is the same so it should work just fine. Alternatively, you may want to consider an adapter such as Item# KOAXMMF

Q: 4. The default sensitivity is -30. Is it recommended to put it higher to -15 or is -30 good? I am recording educational lectures in a studio space.

A: I would recommend doing a test recording with the mic starting off with the default sensitivity setting. Experiment with the settings as well as the positioning of the mic to find the combination that works best for you. When you do the test recordings, you can say which setting you are using for the sensitivity level and where the mic is placed. Just speak and record, and that way you can easily listen back and compare the audio clips without having to remember how everything was set up.

Q: 5. Could i use 2 of these sets and plug them in the Sony FX3 handle with no interference?

A: Yes, two Sennheiser XSW-D VOCAL SET Digital Wireless Plug-On Microphone Systems with Handheld Mic can be used simultaneously without interference. Sennheiser specifies the ability to use up to five XSW-D systems at once.

Q: 6. Will this microphone work well with the Sony UTX-P40 +48v Phantom power wireless plug on?

A: Yes, the Sennheiser e 865 Handheld Condenser Microphone is compatible for use with the Sony UTX-P40 Wireless Plug-On Transmitter. The transmitter will supply the proper amount of voltage that the mic requires.

Q: 7. How can I use the ENG set on a camcorder that only has XLR mic inputs?

A: The simplest way would be to use the Rode XLR Adapter Item# ROVXLRP It is very likely that your camera has a Mic/Line switch. Experiment with both settings to see which setting yields the best Audio Results.

Q: 8. how many transmitters could i use with 1 receiver ?

A: This is a single receiver system that works with only one transmitter. If you require additional mics, then you would use full systems for each mic set to different frequencies.

Q: 9. Can I use 2 wireless mics on 1 receiver? Or would I have to buy 2 complete sets?

A: Hi Jacob - if you'd like to mic two separate talent, you would need two systems (or - in the case of the ENG kit, you could add-on another receiver to minimize the expense); each transmitter and receiver has a one:one relationship and a receiver cannot receive simultaneous input from multiple transmitters.

Q: 10. can I use the lavalier microphone and the handheld microphone at the same time?

A: Yes, you can use both transmitters at the same time with the Sennheiser EM-XSW 1 receiver. The receiver has two separate channels so it works with two wireless transmitters/microphones at the same time.

[80 Hz to 16 kHz] Ive used this mic for a few interviews now and Im delighted with the results. The tone is lovely and warm with great results for a deeper voice like mine. The quality is impressive with no sound transfer from the shaft whatsoever.

[≤ 0.9%] What can I say other than this is awesome! We are rocking the E865 as a ENG handheld mic. We have it paired to a Sennheiser plug on transmitter providing phantom. The pickup pattern is awesome, point at sound, you get sound.

[Supercardioid] This was easy to set up and the sound response is great, on/off button is responsive and has a handy mute switch. Battery indicator and looks expensive.

[Up to 24 MHz] This microphone and its brother, the e865S (with an on/off switch) produce rich sound, much like a dynamic microphone even though they are condensers. They feel very solid and well built, and in that sense, they are fairly heavy. They deal fairly well with handing noise.

[True diversity] used for southern gospel group as vocal mics. bought to replace some old AKG condenser mics that had seen to many miles. these Sennheiser 856e will pull even the most timid singers out of the noise and make it possible to hear them. they sound great and very little problem with feed back.

[Up to 24 MHz] Before purchasing this, I actually purchased a Sennheiser e965 condenser vocal, which is apparently their top-of-the-line handheld vocal mic. While it was certainly a very high quality mic which I am sure works great for many others, it just didn't fit my voice, even with some EQ experimentation. So, I sent it back and decided to try the e865. Yes! Incredible warmth and presence, able to cut through the band with room to spare, great intelligibility. Short story, I love this mic!
